  • "Relaxing stay with sea views."

Excellent location for visiting the Llyn Peninsula and close to Criccieth, Porthmadog, Snowdonia and beyond (by car). Apartment opposite the beach with views of Llyn to the right and a nice promenade for walks. Spacious, comfortable and light situated over two floors. One bedroom and open plan lounge/diner/kitchen with sea views. Very well equipped including dishwasher and washing machine. Property next to lift with steps around corner leading to external exit. Small designated parking space - we found it easier to park on roadside (side streets are free of charge, seafront is pay and display). Approx 15-20 min walk into town, and a bit further for marina and (second) beach. Would return if in the area and would recommend. Thank you.

Property is not fit for purpose, filthy, mouldy and unsafe. Didn't expect 5 star hotel but it was shocking, avoid this apartment and Sykes cottages.

There were some maintenance issues which we reported to the owner with the dishwasher and the french windows. These were not repaired during our stay but the owner said that he would be dealing with these. The apartment is for sale and a new owner might update the sofas but we would be happy to stsy again even as it is

  • "The apartment was clean and mostly comfortable (the bed in the front bedroom was very soft) and the location couldn't have been much better."

Just beyond the balcony was a (quiet) road and the beach. Pwllheli is lovely but there are plenty of nice places to visit just a short distance away. There is a lift to get to the property (you access through the basement on the side) but our dog soon got used to this. I'd agree with the comments on previous reviews - the apartment is up for sale now so I can see why it isn't at its best or why the kitchen has the odd gap in the inventory (measuring jug, oven gloves etc). Hayley provided a friendly reception for us too. Would we recommend it - yes, without hesitation.

  • "The apartment was great."

Open plan living space downstairs with the sea a stone’s throw away and then the master bed with French doors overlooking the sea too. Really suited our family including the dog. Very comfortable apartment- only criticism is the provision of one bottle of hand soap for the entire apartment and 2 rolls of toilet paper for a family of 4 for the week. Not great! Excellent location although Pwllheli itself has very few pubs and none dog friendly, if that’s what you’re looking for on your holidays.

By window ,our dog found a treat under the chair which definitely wasn't hers ,and the floor was soaking in the front bedroom. We went home a day early.

  • "The apartment was really excellent, very spacious and well proportioned and equipped, including fully fitted kitchen, dining and living area, all crockery cutlery and other essentials required for a family of at least 6, all electrical appliances provided as well as built in oven and dishwasher, we wanted for nothing."

Very comfortable seating to both dining and living area with brilliant views to sea through the patio windows, even with poor weather, rain and wind, it just made the experience very comfortable indeed, The bedrooms also were very well laid out and spacious, the most comfortable beds we have experienced and furniture more than sufficient for our needs, the double patio windows to main bedroom and view was brilliant and the en suite provided as well as the family bathroom was a definite plus and well fitted out. Our whole holiday experience was enhanced by the high standards of this accommodation, the care and interest of the owner and the able and courteous assistance of 'Hayley' who attended to our needs and queries so promptly and pleasantly Direct free parking outside was also another bonus as we had family visiting us and the dedicated under cover parking space in the courtyard also came in useful. It was also nice to have the secure access via the lift with other Tennants and the security of one's own 'front door' A really lovely stay in a lovely apartment, it made our holiday complete

  • "No.6 is in a great location, just metres from the beach, with full length French doors giving us a wonderful sea view on both floors."

Plenty of kitchen equipment, cutlery and crockery etc. and comfortable lounge area, overlooking the great view. We were met by Hayley who was friendly and welcoming. Negatives included some missing light bulbs, in particular the entrance hall which we tried to replace but fitting appeared faulty, and back bedroom. Dishwasher only worked intermittently and the DVD player not at all. Seals on the French doors could do with replacing as the wind whistled through and let in water some nights. The crockery could do with sorting as there is a lot but a good proportion is chipped or crazed and unpleasant to use. Bedding was rather worn and tired with stains on one sheet and duvet. The boiler which provided showers, hot water and heating, broke down on our 5th (out of 7) morning. Hayley attended quickly and tried to help but was unable to rectify, so we were left without for the rest of our stay. The owner did ring to apologise although the supplementary heater he told us was provided, was not there. All in all, we enjoyed our visit as we love the area and location. With some investment in the maintenance and facilities, it would be a perfect place to stay. As it is, we will not be rebooking.

  • "Ideal location, stunning views, all facilities, just perfect."

Only a couple of niggles, the bed is not king size but two singles zipped together. The allocated parking is very tight between two posts and for a larger vehicle you can’t actually park there, but there is free parking in the side street. Quite a few bulbs were not working but due to light nights this wasn’t an issue, and has been reported. Overall a fantastic property and we would love to visit again. A folder of local attractions and information is recommended as this is lacking.

  • "Lovely accommodation, a few minutes away from the town centre."

It has everything you need pots and pans wise along with fridge, freezer, dishwasher etc, Having the en suite was ideal as we took his mum, so we could have separate bathrooms. The house was a few minutes away from the town centre - so it was very quiet. Which is a good thing. We took our dogs - one is mad for the sea and he could be in there within a minute. As with many resorts, there are restrictions on which part of the beach you can take them. However, the block also marks the point where they can go on the beach all year round - just turn right as soon as you get on. I would recommend this accommodation. My mother in law who has mobility problems managed quite well.

The accommodation was better than expected, with the living area and master bedroom having full length opening doors to exploit the view. Showers were good. Rear bedroom a bit dark, but only used for sleeping so no real issue there. Location was perfect, about 0.7 mile from town and the locals were very helpful, sociable and friendly.

  • "This was really between failed and met expectations The apartment is in a good location and generally it was satisfactory."

Good views and location for the beach. However we soon discovered some problems. On arrival found the lights in the kitchen area did not work, we were suspicious that this was already known about as a bedside table lamp was on a kitchen unit! When phoned the owner suggested I change the bulbs, I tried without success. Someone came out and got one of the two lights working but it needed an electrician. No microwave, one was listed in the kitchen appliances- we found it in a cupboard when queried with the cleaner who came to look at he light she said it was not working and the owner had been told about it several weeks ago. The French type window type doors in the lounge and main bedroom were difficult to shut properly and sometimes could not be looked ! We had one wet and windy night and the water came in from the doors in both rooms with a large puddle on the lounge floor. The doors throughout the apartment were self closing, with very strong springs, presume fire door type, but a real pain, very difficult to keep open with the door stops available as they tended to slide on the smooth wooden floor. Despite theses problems we would recommend it and go again. Just a shame that the above issues which were clearly known, some of them for a long time ie the ill fitting doors took the edge off our stay.

  • "The location of this apartment is stunning."

South facing and sea & beach views - doesn't get any better. It's less than a mile into town so perfect for a leisurely stroll or a brisk walk. Dogs are allowed on the beach (turn right) so also a perfect location if you have your pooch with you. Overall, the apartment is spacious and airy and very well equipped. The facilities are excellent - plenty of glasses, crockery and cutlery and everything else you need for self-catering cooking. Two bathrooms with fantastic showers and both bedrooms can be made up with king size beds. A small pool, steam room, sauna and additional showers are located in the basement - a fabulous extra. However, it was disappointing that the pool was out of action from the Tuesday onwards (broken pump?) and there needs to be some additional instructions for how to turn on the steam room and sauna before use. In terms of the apartment, the two negatives are the general decor and cleanliness. It's time for a quick re-paint to make it feel fresh and clean instead of tired and scruffy. The floors, patio doors (upstairs and downstairs) and glass frontages need a really deep clean. Looks and feels like they've not been done for years. The big wooden dinng table and the kitchen worktops needed a good clean before we were happy to use them. It's a shame that the decor and cleanliness of so many of these types of bookings leaves a lot to be desired. It would add so much to the welcome when you arrive and the enjoyment of your stay. In spite of this we have re-booked the apartment again due to its fantastic location and excellent facilities.

  • "I would like to make a complaint."

I specifically asked Sykes if towels were included in the rental and this was confirmed by the Sykes agent. We arrived at the apartment at 8pm and the caretaker told us that towels were not included. Thankfully, because I complained, the caretaker went home and brought some of her own towels for us to use. She said this was the second time this had happened. Also, she had only made up one bed as the booking was for two people. Me and my Son. That is why we booked a two bedrooms apartment, again, she returned to make up the second bedroom. There were a few maintenance issues that need sorting but other than that this apartment is on a good location, is spacious and comfortable.
