"We absolutely loved our stay at Gwel y Mor."
We booked last minute as the weather forecast looked promising, dry but cold. On arrival at the apartment we collected the keys easily and the parking space was very handy. The apartment was absolutely spotless and had everything we needed. Heating the apartment was no trouble despite how cold it was and we were extremely comfortable. The bed was very comfortable and the shower/bath had instant hot water. We cooked our evening meals and again all the crockery, cooker fridges etc were spotless. There was a dishwasher but we didn't use it as that's my job! TV and internet was faultless and we were very happy in the apartment. However the star of the show is the view! You literally sit in the bay windows looking directly out to sea! To your left is Harlech with its castle and the Rhinog ridge on the skyline from Moel Ysgyfarnogod to Rhinog Fawr, Rhinog Fach, Y Llethr, Diffwys, Moelfre and dropping away to Barmouth! Then Cader Idris stands sentinel and the coast is visible heading down towards Cardigan. On your right is Llanbedrog with it famous Tin Man stood on the headland and then the coast as it curves round past Abersoch to the Cilan headland and the St Tudwal islands with Bear Grylls light house winking at you! In a morning we sat with a hot cuppa as the sun rose behind the mountains and then lit up the sea and in the evening the sky towards the headland was the most glorious orange! Despite coming here to walk it was hard to drag ourselves away from the view and actually get out! The Wales Coastal footpath runs right past the apartment and the Llyn Peninsula is blessed with so many wonderful footpaths either coastal or hills. It's easy to catch the train along the Cambrian Coast and the buses are only 15 minutes walk away. If you do come here between April and September check out the Fflecsi bus service which picks you up and drops you off all around the Llyn for a nominal fee, its a fantastic way to get about. Pwllheli was around 15 minutes walk and there are supermarkets and fuel so there is everything you need. The owner had left us coffee, tea bags, milk in the fridge, Welsh Cakes and chocolate biscuits which were a really nice touch. There were lots of other little extras like phone charging cables, books, games, information and a fantastic pair of binoculars to use. Communication was really good and it was one of the best apartments we have stayed in and we hope to return very shortly as we are already missing the views. Many thanks for a great stay Glyn & Ann .............Diloch yn fawr
"Lovely apartment, with great views."
Clean and modern. Nice welcome pack and useful local information. Everything you might need and was well labelled and easy to find. Good interaction with owners.
"This is our second visit and we felt very much at home."
The weather was distinctly autumnal, but it was great to sit by the bay window and watch the sea in all its changing colours. Maybe we shall be back in the Spring!
"Fantastic property the views were amazing had everything you could want everything was labelled up we had a great holiday, beach was right on the doorstep wouldn't hesitate too book again."
"Lovely comfortable apartment with fabulous sea views."
The flat was very clean and had everything we needed. I'd definitely recommend it and use it again.
"I have stayed in quite a few properties but this has been the most organised and thought through place ever."
The apartment has everything you might need, clearly labelled with really good instructions.. And of course one of the best things about it is the view which is astounding,
"What an amazing place, my wife and I loved it, waking it up to that view is something else."
I would definitely recommend this place as a base to explore North Wales. There is also plenty of space for another set of adults and a kid. We’ll definitely come back!
"The apartment was first class worthy of the five stars."
It was spotlessly clean and was very comfortable throughout. I can honestly say it’s the best we have ever rented for a holiday.
"Gwel Y Mor holiday apartment is a lovely place to stay."
It is clean , comfortable , well equipped. The apartment has a fantastic sea view.
"A beautiful property with stunning views."
It was immaculately clean, very well equipped. We had a lovely 4 day break and would definitely come again
"Everything went very well."
The booking was easy, the instructions left by the owner were clear and we were very impressed by the facilities and attention to detail. The only difficulty for us (oldies) was getting our luggage up and down! We would certainly book again.
"Lovely property with a fabulous view."
Wonderful communication and instructions from the owners. We loved that everything was labelled.
"Excellent clean apartment with superb views out to sea."
Ideally situated to allow us to explore the Llyn Peninsula. A varied welcome pack was provided along with a birthday card which was a lovely touch. Top notch all round.
"The apartment was very clean and well presented, the owners easy to communicate with, it's location in the area was perfect, beach to the front town to the rear."
The views from the bay window were constantly changing, there was always something going off. We had a great stay.
"To anyone looking to book a relaxing break, with a stunning view I would recommend you don't look anywhere else and you just book this place."
Words really don't do justice to how amazing and peaceful the seaview was, especially at sunrise and sunset and just sitting with a cup of tea at the breakfast table was so tranquil. From the apartment to the sea was less than a minute walk and we spent hours enjoying the sea and sand. The surrounding area and beaches are all easily accessible if you are driving and the post it's on the wall in the kitchen really helped us to plan our short break. Our children loved their stay and can't wait for us to go back again soon. It was a child friendly apartment with some nice board games too. The landlords communication with us was really pleasant too and nice little house keeping touches made the stay so much more personal. The only downside was that we didnt stay longer. Looking forward to booking again next year.
"A very relaxing stay."
We felt completely at home. It was a nice quiet building and very clean appartment. We certainly weren't ready to leave and could have easily stayed a full week. The notice board with tips and hint of where to visit was brilliant. The welcome pack was a nice touch. Slightly difficult to find when we arrived. We saw the carpark but wanted to see the front of the building before we parked (because the carpark is a little gloomy), so we drove along the seafront. We saw lots of colourful buildings with numbers so followed the numbers to the end. We eventually drove back and saw the front door for West Point. It may be good to explain exactly where the front of the building of West Point is should people want to see that before parking, to get their bearings.
"Amazing place, very comfortable, clean and with a spectacular view."
The owners are a lovely couple who were very helpful and welcoming. Would definitely recommend this accommodation.
"Got covid had to come home on Sunday 10th"
"Spotlessly clean, apartment with beautiful sea views."
The owner was easy to contact and most helpful. We appreciated the welcome pack.on arrival. As pointed out in previous reviews, the access and stairs could be an issue for some. An excellent base to explore this stunning area.
"Property was extremely."
Clean everything looked new. Could be difficult for people with mobility problems as there are a few stairs. Pity no balcony but view spectacular. Lots of walks in area. Very enjoyable week.
"We had an absolutely lovely time at this really beautiful apartment."
It was spotlessly clean, very well equipped and extremely comfortable. The view is so gorgeous, its a fantastic place to relax and watch the world go by. The area is lovely and quiet, but near enough to the town centre for supermarkets/shops/cafes/takeaways, which are all within walking distance. Owners were lovely, really easy to communicate with and very accommodating. We cant wait to come back!
