The accommodation was well equipped and extremely clean and comfortable, making our stay very enjoyable. We were able to enjoy the walks around the local area as well as travelling further to enjoy the lovely beaches and coastal walks. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

  • "The Mill, hosted by Louise, is a lovely place to go for a quiet, well situated, holiday."

The conversion of the building is to a very high standard, with everything there necessary for a very comfortable and easy stay. Louise provided little welcome touches, such as milk in the fridge, eggs from her own hens, a bottle of wine, tea, coffee and sugar, and a welcome pack for the dogs. The king sized bed was unexpected, but luxurious and a real treat. Louise provides full sized, very soft and fluffy bath sheets, so there is no need to take your own towels. The garden is small, but we'll kept, and fully enclosed and secure, and totally adequate for 2 dogs, which we had. Louise has provided lots of local information, which is really helpful, and the rules for staying are also really clear and easy. I would definately recommend The Mill, and Louise, as a place to stay in Cardigan Bay, as Louise is an excellent host, and The Mill provides a great central base for going out and exploring the area.

  • "Lovely location, very quiet."

The Mill was local to the shop and pub and also was convenient to reach surrounding villages and the coastal path- all of which we made good use of. The Mill was very clean and comfortable and was well equipped to prepare meals. The owners were very friendly and helpful with suggestions of place to visit. We would definitely come back for another holiday.

  • "We had a lovely week away at The Mill, it was spotlessly clean and tidy on arrival and it had everything we needed there."

The staircase took a bit of getting used to, otherwise the sofa and bed were very comfy and how peaceful it was there and the brightness of the stars was wonderful. Had a meal at the Daffodil too which was excellent. The dogs were also well catered for and we all loved exploring the nearby beaches and the walk around the Woodland Trusts Coed y Foel. Would highly recommend.

The Mill is in a lovely tranquil country setting and the owners are really friendly as are the neighbouring farmers! The accommodation is beautiful with everything we need and we love spending the evenings in the sunny private courtyard. We look forward to returning next year.

Well appointed and friendly hosts at hand if needed. Very dog friendly and welcoming. Some may find the stairs to the mezzanine sleeping area slightly challenging (or part of the holiday excitement?) A delightful stay and would definitely return.

and some of the local chocolate wafers (I will be eating these for the rest of my life) all provided by the hosts. Several other nice touches like dressing gowns, dog towel, blanket and bowl. There is everything you need for a lovely peaceful break. Louise and Terry are very friendly and helpful if you need advice/assistance. The Daffodil restaurant across from the farm track is very good, with excellent food and service.

  • "When we booked this property it advertised as with hot tub."

This was removed and the owners informed sykes to amend property details... they did not. Consequently we were not informed as to this change only a few weeks before our stay...despite the owners informing sykes earlier in the year. Our stay was in September months after the the owners had informed sykes. We did get a discount from the owners vi's Sykes but through out sykes weee adamant it was the responsibility of the owner as our contract was with them. My main concern is that sykes despite there administration error would accept no responsibility failed to respond to my emails. The cottage was lovely as we're the owners but I do feel we were all let down by sykes.

  • "The listing of property having a hot tub and then not was frustrating - but a discount was agreed."

Hence low score on accuracy - which hopefully will be sorted by now. The location is really lovely and the shop and pub were useful to have a 5 minute walk away. Do book the pub though for food, it was hard to get in. The property was clean and as described. The stairs are a little hard to handle so just check the pictures before you book. The headroom in the bedroom gets a bit much after a week. The bed was very comfortable and bedding and towels were good quality. The kitchen could do with some more glasses. Drinking out of plastic is not for me (especially as no hot tub to worry about!). Only two wine glasses, no flutes or gin glasses. The lounge was comfortable enough but some lovely easy chairs would have been nice not just one sofa. The bathroom really needs some Shelves in the shower and somewhere to put stuff . It has no natural ventilation so unfortunately it smells damp a lot of the time. It was my least fave part of staying at the Mill.

No hot tub, owners had already informed Sykes before I booked but the description was not updated and nobody contacted me. Found out on arrival at the property. Would not have chosen this accommodation if description had been accurate.

We are truly sorry for any disappointment regarding the hot tub no longer available at the property and that the advert had not been amended correctly by Sykes Cottages when the owner advised us earlier in the year. We have corrected the advert and laised with you to resolve your complaint and we have also apologised to the owner for any distress caused to her and her guests. Property Owner

The property is compact but fine for 2 people plus a dog. It was useful to have an enclosed courtyard so we could let our dog out without worrying she would escape. The Daffodil pub is just a 5 minute walk away and serves excellent food plus its dog friendly : it is popular so you do need to book.

  • "The Mill cottage is situated in a gorgeous location."

It is so tranquil and peaceful that you can enjoy the sights and sounds of the countryside, however the small local shop and great pub are just a short walk away. There are many lovely local walks yet all the beaches and coastal walks we wanted to go to were less than a 30 min drive away. The beaches were beautiful, many dog friendly and quiet. The cottage itself is beautifully appointed inside with everything we needed to have a relaxing holiday. The fuuly enclosed private courtyard at the back of the house was a delightful suntrap from morning to evening. Sitting in a bubbling hottub with the sun setting waiting for the bbq to warm up was divine! It was also perfect for our dog to wander out and sunbathe in without us worrying about her getting out. An important note about my review is that we had gorgeous weather every day and went outside of school holidays! The cottage description of the stairs is accurate.
