  • "This was probably the best holiday home we have stayed, clean, comfortable, and welcoming."

It really was home from home, and we thoroughly enjoy our stay. Being in our twilight years however, we thought for safety reasons, it would benefit from having a grab rail over the bath, and non slip mats in the shower, otherwise it was perfect.

  • "When placing our initial booking, the location of the property, as marked on the map, led us to believe it was very close to the town centre Pwllheli."

This appealed to us as one of our party is mobility restricted. After placing the booking, an Internet search revealed that the property was located almost a mile out of town, next to a busy roundabout. We felt we had been misled and attempted to cancel our booking less than a week later and five months before the let, only to find that the cost of a cancellation would be over £400, way more than we could afford to lose. We had no option but to proceed - with a sour taste in the mouth. I feel that more clarity is needed to prevent further disappointment.

  • "We had a glorious sunny week here, blue skies and sun everyday."

The property is lovely, without a doubt the nicest cottage we have ever rented. However..... the house is about 2 meters away from a very busy road, and about 5 meters away from a mini roundabout. Traffic queues outside the house most of the day and then late at night on the weekend mainly you get boy racers doing doughnuts on the roundabout at 2am. We found the garden to be unusable and ear plugs a must for sleeping, the master bedroom is on the back just next to the road. We have now visited Wales 3 times for family holidays and would say Pwelli has all the charm of Rotherham and would never visit North Wales again. The nature reserve across the busy main road was lovely, around a 10 minute walk to the beach. The dog was exhausted every day.

Thanks so much for your great feed back Glad you had a great stay x Property Owner

  • "Iovely house, perhaps a mention that there is a round about outside and is noisy would be good."

Also a dog/baby guard at the bottom of the stairs, and maybe a bath mat in the shower because it can be slippery especially for the older person (like me)

  • "A spacious and great base to explore the sights of North Wales, then return to comfotable setting to relax of an evening before the next day's adventures."

Having a beach only 5 minutes or so walk away was a great asset, especially with two teenage lads in tow. A highly recommended property. Also am unrelated commendation to Ysbyty Gwynedd Hospital for taking good care of our son in his hour of need after a nasty break to his finger at a water park during our holiday and the swift surgical operation carried out in the following days.

  • "Lovely little house, really enjoyed our stay, really comfortable with lovely touches."

Great location. The road was noisy/busy which didn't bother us especially at night, however with it being warm when we had the back door open we found the noise levels quite high (you could hardly hear any noise with doors and windows shut). Would stay again and recommend to others. ☺️

  • "We would not have booked this If we had known that it was on a very busy main road/ roundabout to Abersoch and Nefyn , we could not stay outside long with the traffic noise I did check it was an enclosed garden but it turned out to be a patio with no grass for our dog to be outside had there not been the constant noise of the heavy traffic and motor bikes which unsettled him There was no TV in the one bedroom as stated which could be disappointing to a family with children !"

It was hard for me to get in and out of the car on the drive as there was a small wall and there was a dumpy bag of sand and cement bags and other things on the driver's side very awkward for me on the passenger side !! The heating could not be used as it was controlled by an App of the owner ! The house itself was lovely and very clean but wrong for us , our dog is our priority and I was annoyed as I actually phoned Sykes to check on the garden as there was no photo ! and I was assured that there was a garden Very disappointed as have never had any complaints before with Sykes

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback- it really is valuable we understand issues and flaws and I’m sorry you felt the house fell short in certain areas. Let me try and address these for you. We are aware the house backs on to the main road leading to Abersoch & Nefyn and have adjusted the property’s description to reflect this. In terms of the outside area it does have a patio with no lawn which is correctly reflected in the properties description and photographs; I have taken this up with Sykes to see who you spoke to to confirm there’s was a lawn but unfortunately they have no record. The wall in the driveway is part and parcel of the house build and the driveway is wide enough for a 4x4 - I do apologise if there was any obstruction whilst you were staying there. Regarding the heating you’re correct this can be controlled via an app however guests can use manually as per the instructions in the welcome book. Thank you once again Susanne Antrobus Property Owner

The property

Located just outside the bustling centre of Pwllheli, Gwynedd is this semi-detached, family-friendly holiday home, Ty Glan Y Mor.

A pet-friendly property within easy reach of sandy beaches and coastal paths along the Llŷn Peninsula, it makes a perfect base for a family of six's holiday in North Wales.

Park up in the private driveway for one car, with extra roadside parking available on the cul-de-sac, before stepping inside and freshening up in the handy cloakroom.

Head straight into the kitchen to stock up the cupboards where contemporary amenities await the family chef, including a dishwasher to spend less time tidying up on your holiday.

Three steps lead you down to the bright and airy living/dining room, alongside a utility/garage containing a freezer and washing machine; dine at the table for six and catch up on the day's adventures, then retreat to the leather sofas for a movie night on the Smart TV by the warmth of the electric fire.

Make the most of sunnier days in the rear garden, an enclosed space for a pet-friendly holiday in Wales, along with outdoor furniture to dine alfresco or recline with a glass of wine.

When night draws in, head to the first floor to wash the day away with a bubble bath or a hot shower, whilst your fluffy towel warms on the heated towel rail.

Choose from three beautiful bedrooms with ample storage and homely furnishings; a king-size hosts an en-suite shower room, alongside another king-size bedroom, and a single bedroom with a trundle under, complete with a TV to keep one or two younger guests entertained.

The property is a short journey away from Traeth Marian-y-de Beach to bring your dog for a paddle in the sea, whilst Pwllheli hosts a number of attractions right on your doorstep; explore the marina with ice cream in hand, find evening entertainment at Neuadd Dwyfor Arts Centre or head to Traeth Glan-y-Don for a popular sailing and watersports destination.

Further afield you'll find Abersoch for golfing, perfect waves for surfing, and why not finish the day with dinner at The Cove whilst you watch the sunset?

Walkers will find plenty of coastal paths along the Llŷn Peninsula for spectacular sea views, picturesque coves and a variety of birdlife.

Heading off the peninsula, be sure to visit Criccieth, home to the ruins of Castell Criccieth and a beach for the perfect fish and chips picnic spots.

There's so much fun to be had with a family-friendly holiday at Ty Glan Y Mor.
