  • "Ideal for larger family."

Owner very friendly and helpful, Not very convenient for 'attractions', but that was what we wanted - somewhere fairly secluded and quiet.

  • "This property resembles nothing like the pictures."

From the first moment you walk in, it's filth.!!!. Human hair in the bathrooms, damp, stained rugs and cushions, dogs hair, so thick on the stair carpet l sweeped up with my flip flop. Garden is only wired fencing, broken down in places.. Fire alarm broken with tape around it, loft hatch a thin price of ply wood, with black tape around it, mice dropping down the side of the cooker, crumbs on the floor with dogs hairs. With covid 19, each property anyone goes to for a rent, should be cleaned and everything steamed clean. This property had not at either for a very long time, nor had it seen a paint brush. The owner certainly did not put any money back into this property, and it goes on... sykes cottages should go an inspected this property and take it off their books if they want to keep there good name.. only good thing, it was out in the wilds for the peace

  • "Fab dog friendly stay at Waun Forest."

The owner was great, friendly and helpful . The dogs were very welcome, secure garden, a few mins walk along lane into Brechfa Forest, perfect comfortable rural retreat for us. We visited some lovely places, particularly Pembrey Country Park ( fabulous beach) as recommended by the cottage owner . Caroline, the owner, gave us a welcome pack of dogs biscuits, tea, a bottle of wine which was lovely . Waun Forest had everything we needed for a relaxing, dog friendly break and we look forward to returning in the not too distant future.

Cottage had everything we needed. Great enclosed garden for the dogs and right next to a path where you can walk for miles. Owner is lovely. We will be back.

  • "The track to the house is narrow and has pot holes, so drive carefully."

It wouldn't put me off. Lovely walks from the house. All accommodation except the sitting room and a shower room (off the sitting room) is upstairs, so be prepared to carry all your kitchen equipment up. The bedrooms are spacious as is the bathroom and the ensuite shower rooms adequate. Mrs Jones is a lovely lady, willing to help with anything you need. The house is isolated down the track but that's what we wanted. The wood burner is great but I couldn't find appropriate tools to clean it out with although I'm sure they must have been there somewhere - must be my age!!

  • "Caroline was really lovely and greeted our arrival with a nice welcome package which we really appreciated."

The cottage was really nice and the enclosed garden was huge and perfect to let the dogs run round in. The horses weren’t bothered by our dogs barking at them. The walks around the property were nice and peaceful. We visited Llansteffan, Tenby and Pembrey beaches for dog friendly paddling walks. We also had a great cliff top stroll at Aberporth where we spotted a dolphin in the sea. We were blessed with stunning sunshine weather. Star gazing is really easy as the nights are really dark. We didn’t use the log burner as we had warm weather but can imagine that it is lovely on the colder evenings. We look forward to visiting again.

  • "The owner Caroline was absolutely lovely."

She was very helpful and gave us lots of tips of where we could take our dog but wasn't intrusive. Great dark skies with no light pollution and a nice walk through the forest to the pub. Amazing wildlife thought the red squirrels were hiding :) We were lucky enough to spot a newt and a couple of glow worms - very rare apparently. Lots of good walks though you need to get used to going uphill and down dale. If you are into MTB trails then there are some superb ones nearby and the great thing is that they keep pedestrians and MTBs on separate tracks.

  • "Caroline the owner is fantastic and always on hand for any questions."

She brought us some garden chairs to sit on in the sun, gave us directions for different walks in the forest which is literally right on the doorstep and made a fuss of our dogs. The cottage is fantastically situated with the forest being at the end of the bridleway that the cottage is situated on. There are fantastic walks in the forest our favourite was the 4 mile walk to the Black Lion in Abergorlech all on tracks and bridleways through the Brechfa forest. There are some fantastic beaches within 30 mins to an hours drive. The woodland walks nearby are plentiful and all breathtakingly beautiful. This cottage is super dog friendly. We will definitely be back!

  • "Waun Fforest is a lovely comfortable cottage."

It has all the necessary amenities for a great relaxing break; peaceful surroundings, great walks and facilities in the cottage such as WiFi, board games, TVs and DVD player if the weather is unkind. It is situated in the beautiful welsh countryside and therefore you have to be prepared to drive out to places but it's only 1 hour to stunning Tenby, and less than that to the wonderful coastal villages of Aberaron and New Quay. Caroline, the owner, could not have been more helpful and there were lovely treats provided for us when we arrived. And the dogs had a great garden to play in. Everything we needed for a great holiday.

She was on hand and most knowledgeable and gave us some delicious fresh produce from her green house. The dogs had a whale of a time in the very safe, enclosed garden and enjoyed meeting Dante, Caroline’s stunning horse! We would recommend this property unreservedly to anyone wanting a peaceful holiday in beautiful surroundings.
