It is perfect for us to spend time together. The pool is large and is great for the family. We enjoyed the hot tub, the views and the best thing about it was having Stuart play a medley for us on his keyboard. Truly inspirational for us all and our four kids who are budding musicians. The views are great and we would definitely stay again and recommend to friends

  • "I booked this property as a celebration of my 70th birthday."

It was an opportunity for my children and grandchildren to spend precious time with me, my husband and each other. Stuart is a perfect host and a very special person. He has carefully built a wonderful property in which we have been privileged to build family memories which we will treasure always. The views from all sides of the cottage are stunning and, even in February, we managed some walks, although appropriate footwear is essential. The site feels very safe and this allowed us to relax and enjoy the break from work and school. The facilities on the site were enjoyed by all members of our party. We played every day in the games room and swimming pool - much appreciated by the children in particular. The parents spent time in the hot-tub- the spectacular views were an added bonus. The Wi-Fi also meant that those family members who could not afford a complete week’s break weren’t excluded. The cottage was spacious and exceptionally well-equipped. There was ample equipment to cook and serve family meals together, an experience which we all value. The dishwashers also aided the inevitable cleaning-up! We hope that we can return in the future and other parties have as great a holiday as we have had. Thank you Stuart.

  • "Thanks so much Stuart for letting us stay at your property, it exceeded our expectations."

You’ve thought of everything to make this a wonderful experience. There was more than enough space for everyone not to feel on top of one another with the Orangery to sit and admire the beautiful landscape and the games room to use as well. The pool was obviously the star attraction the children did not want to leave! We would definitely like to return at some point.

We were 14 of us and all of us enjoyed a lot. It was a family get together and we really had a lovely time at the cottage. The owner was very kind and helpful, he provided everything needed to make our stay enjoyable. We used Hot tub and swimming pool, its like a private pool only for our group as other guests next door were not using it. I definitely would like to come again in summer time as the views from the property towards the fields were simply amazing.

  • "We were very impressed with the owner Stuart's support."

Close enough to be of assistance whenever we needed it, and far enough away and out of sight, allowing us total freedom to make use of all of the facilities. A most pleasant and helpful owner/host. The property and facilities were spotless and extremely relaxing in a lovely countryside environment. One suggestion (not a criticism) is some clear basic laminated instructions for certain equipment, such as the hot tub and and the pool cover to avoid any accidental misuse or damage.

  • "The property is in a quiet location with lovely views."

It's very well kept and maintained. The pool is brilliant and kept at a nice temperature. The hot tub is another bonus to this property. It's regularly checked and the level of chemicals doesn't leave you itching or smelling of chlorine. The owner is exceptionally attentive to guests having a good holiday and will even entertain you with a piano recital. The local area has many footpaths marked on the ordnance survey maps, but finding these paths in reality is a headache. There are very few signs. There are no local amenities, so you need to travel to Newtown for supplies. The town itself was a little disappointing as there didn't appear to be any nice restaurants, cafes or pubs to eat at. On the whole we had a wonderful week, the sole use of the pool was the icing on the cake.

First impressions are always important and we could not fault the appearance, cleanliness and layout of Old Rectory Cottage. Pretty well everything is provided and previous renters had left behind useful bits and pieces. The quality of the bed linen, towels and tea towels is of a high standard. We were a party of 8 adults and 6 children and found the accomodation spacious. The Cottage has kitchen and lounges upstairs and bedrooms downstairs. Hence you can hear the young ones running about having got upo earlier than the rest of us. The swimming pool and hot tub were a blessing bearing in mind our first two and a half days we were under the cosh opf the storms so unable to leave the cottage. Needless to say having exclusive use makes life a lot easier when you have youngsters desperate to burn off some energy. There's everything you need in Newtown in respect of shops and major supermarkets. We had a Tesco delivery but others deliver as well. Well done to Stuart Jones and his team for making our stay memorable. If you book you will not be disappointed but get in quick it's very popular.

The seperate indoor heated swimming pool was amazing and all the family used it every day and at various times, my 5 grandchildren ranging from 2 to 12 loved every minute in there and didn't want to leave it. There are lots of things that you can do from it's location eg Powys castle is a must and we went in October so we went pumpkin picking which was 6 miles away, it was a hidden gem and I would recommend anyone to book it and enjoy it as much as we did. It is indoor which is perfect if it rains but if it is hot there are double doors so you feel outdoor. The hot tub is new, clean and a great way to wind down after a busy day and look at the stars. Good location, quiet and yet easy to get access to supermarkets and about 40mins to seaside. Without doubt the key selling point is the owner Stuart. The pool room also had showers, toilet and changing area so we could spend plenty of time in there. The hot tub was a great added feature too. The house was decorated lovely at Christmas with a tree and additional decorations. We received a Tesco home delivery of groceries when we arrived, which was perfect. Well decorated and the upside down nature of the property means that you can enjoy the views at all times. There were eight of us and so it felt very spacious. Having two kitchens and living rooms meant that there was plenty of room for everyone - and with a TV in both living rooms and in every bedroom there was no arguing over what to watch in the evenings and a good WiFi signal also kept our teenagers happy. The pool is lovely and clean - and warm too! It was a great treat having it all to ourselves - having an indoor pool means you can enjoy it regardless of the weather. The hot tub is a generous size and is cleaned regularly, we made use of it every day. The large gardens are very well kept and a pleasure to walk around. The property is within easy reach of Newtown, which is very handy for popping to Tesco or Morrison's for groceries and the tiny cinema there is also a treat. Always warm and inviting. The water in both the pool and the hot tub were checked daily, even Christmas day by the friendly owner, Stuart Jones. Sitting in the Hot Tub and admiring the beautiful views was just wonderful. Made even more special by celebrating Christmas with a glass of champagne, in the hot tub!
