I couldn’t fault the house. Will definitely book again. Reviewed by AnnaMar 2022 "Ideal place for peace and quiet." Lovely little hamlet with beautiful views. Clean comfortable house with plenty of room and en suites to every bedroom and downstairs shower n extra WC a bonus. I'm disabled but managed the stairs. Steps outside property could be a problem for those with mobility problems but they are not steep so could be managed with assistance. Owner very friendly and extremely helpful. Would go again if garden fenced off so it would be safer for dogs. Reviewed by EileenNov 2021 "Lovely and homely house." Excellent base for Elan valley and would make a brilliant holiday for a large family group. Very comfortable and a great place to relax. Reviewed by StevenOct 2021 "Loved the house!" Well equipped & plenty of room for everyone and loved having our own en suite bathrooms .Beautiful area and very peaceful. Only negatives for us were it was a small fridge for the amount of people it caters for-perhaps a drinks one behind the bar? Loved the roof garden but very steep steps and low handrail for everyone but especially the elderly guests. Also could benefit from extra fence as we were concerned the toddler would run/fall off. Welcome pack would have been appreciated especially as a bit away from shops. Just a nice gesture that doesn’t need to break the bank. Would definitely stay again though. Reviewed by ShirleySep 2021 "Large house with all the facilities you need for a family party with two dogs." Great location. Minutes away from the dams, kite feeding site and pony trekking. Reviewed by JeanAug 2021 "Lovely place to stay, plenty of room for everyone." Having en-suites for each bedroom was a big plus, would be great to have a shower above the bath in the second double. But only 4 miles from nearest village which was very picturesque. Would recommend a stay here, you won’t be disappointed Reviewed by JanetteJun 2021 "Great location for ease of places to visit." Able to see red kites flying overhead. Near to Elan valley trail for beautiful walks Reviewed by HelenJun 2021 "The house was perfect for us , The only problem we had was in the bathrooms , There are no coat hangers mirrors or shelfs in them ." It would make a big difference if you could address this matter for future clientelle . Other than that we found everything first class with great views . Thank You John R Mountford Reviewed by JohnJun 2021 "We have stayed before as the location is perfect for us but the last time we stayed I complained it was not particularly clean and thought that it might have been a one off but no, the house is not clean the mirrors in the main bedroom are filthy and dust on surfaces indicate that the word deep clean to me means a different thing." I had to empty the vacuum as it was full on arrival and blocked! When I vacuumed up again the hoover was so full of dogs hairs and dust had to empty again and these were not my dog hairs as I have a short haired dog! Bath leaked so could not use as it poured through the front room ceiling which was reported to the owner. I would say that the house is a little run down and needs a freshen up. I brought a Corkscrew as I couldn't open a bottle of wine on my last visit as the one there was broken I left it there for others to use and low and behold it is gone and the broken one remains!!! Description and Photos out of date no jacuzzi/bath Pictures are taken when property was in good condition. Is the security bond there for me to clean the house properly for the owner. Sorry would not recommend this property. Reviewed by AndyMay 2021 "My family had a lovely week at this property, plenty of space the place is huge!" Ideally situated to explore Wales. One of our favourite things was seeing the red kite feeding at the farm just up the road, a real spectacle! The pool table was a hit with everyone. We would definitely stay here again. Reviewed by TamlaOct 2019 "Really nice house and location." ..the house itself was a lot bigger than expected. Very nice place very peaceful just the kind of holiday we needed cottage was beautiful would definitely recommend and would love to book again in the future for this place Reviewed by JodieAug 2019 "Only fault was there was 3 bathrooms and one shower room which was downstairs the second double bedroom could have done with a shower not just a bath." Also the main garden with grass was not gated and was open to a busy main road and sheep. Reviewed by IreneAug 2019 "Property little dated but comfortable and clean but for over 1000 for the week tv package very poor for the night time entertainment." Luckily took our own firestick but internet not very good Reviewed by RobertAug 2019 "Tre Garreg is a really spacious house and the location was perfect for us to visit the Royal Welsh show and surrounding countryside." We also appreciated that it was close to a main road but very quiet Reviewed by ChristineJul 2019 "We had a wonderful holiday even though it rained quite a bit." The property was as described but could do with some updating and maintenance. The kitchen worktop by the sink has swollen because it gets wet, some of the oven cooking trays and frying pan are a bit worn, the conservatory radiator on the right as you go in leaked when the heating was on and the other radiator didn't get warm, some of the taps drip and the floor in the main bedroom creeks very loudly. We still liked the property with these few faults, the location is lovely and very quiet. Reviewed by PaulApr 2019 "This is a lovely cottage in a peaceful and pretty location." The cottage is large, clean and well furnished However, as noted in a previous review, the central heating only works for less than 50% of the ground floor area, making the large lounge area only useable late in the evenings after the electric fire has been on for a reasonable length of time and the conservatory unusable as a dining room. This meant that the five adults in our group all lived in the kitchen area, which, whilst reasonably large, only had four comfy chairs. Not ideal, or what was anticipated, especially as feedback 3 weeks earlier had identified this problem. We reported it to Sykes Cottages on our return, and I understand they are still waiting for communication from the owner a further 10 days on. In the summer, this shouldn’t be a problem, but on a cold and damp March week........ The upstairs rooms were all lovely and warm and comfortable with what seemed like unlimited hot water, each room having its own ensuite which is very handy. The location is very handy for walking, red kite watching and rides on the steam train between Devils Bridge and Aberystwyth. Good cafes and pubs serving food in Rhayader, and can thoroughly recommend the local butcher in the town! Reviewed by AndrewMar 2019 "Agree with a previous comment that radiators in the conservatory did not always work." I could not get the gas fire in lounge to work, there was a small electric fire in its place but only one bar worked and was ineffective. Temperature valves to some radiators either were not there or did not work one was broken Very clean house Nice touch to leave a cake and milk for us on arrival Reviewed by RayMar 2019 "The living room was 64 degrees at 7 o’clock at night." There was a 1200 watt fire in front of the fire shown in the picture on your web site that did not work. Only two of the three bars worked on the fire (800 watts). The heat given off by this fire did not heat the room. We had to spend the holiday in the kitchen to keep warm. We thus returned home a day early. Reviewed by SallyFeb 2019 "Tre Garreg was an excellent choice for a Christmas break, the location is superb and the cottage itself exceeded our expectations." Thankyou for sending someone immediately to sort the TV and the heating in the conservatory out. In other houses wich we have booked was allways an information folder. Wich we couldn't find.
