  • "Beautiful cottage and garden."

There was everything we needed to make a good holiday. Well equipped with utensils, crockery, hand wash and many other things we did not expect. We were left lots of goodies including a bottle of Prosecco and a dozen fresh farm eggs plus other things which were much appreciated. The owner was very helpful when our car battery went flat and brought us an extension lead and charger. Would certainly stay there again.

We had a sunny walk in to Montgomery which was charming, all in all a fabulous cottage in a very good location.

  • "Very nice cottage with everything you need for a home from home stay!"

The beds were super comfy and the hot tub was enjoyed by all. The dogs loved the large garden and enjoyed walks in the surrounding area. The cottage was very clean on arrival, and the owner kindly maintained the hot tub throughout our stay. There is plenty to see in nearby villages and towns, so the cottage is a good base to explore the local area.

  • "Conquer Hall honestly exceeded our expectations, inside, outside and location."

It was spotlessly clean, beautiful kept and maintained. Something that was noted by all 8 guests was the clean smell of washing softener on the bed clothes - a small detail but worth mentioning. On arrival we received a welcome basket of some basic essentials such as coffee, tea, sugar, cookies and even a dozen free range eggs along with a welcome card from the letting family. Thoughtful details like these are much appreciated. We had an amazing, relaxing time here with nothing we could want for to make the stay any more pleasureable. I met one of the owners (Russells Dad

  • "Conquer Hall was perfect for our visit."

We were a family group of 8 adults and we had everything we needed. Highly Recommended. The cottage was immaculately presented, there was plenty of space and were very comfortable throughout. With two of the group with slight mobility issues it was extremely handy that there was a ground floor bedroom and bathroom. The kitchen area was wonderfully sized, with the ability to socialise there or in the adjourning room where comfy seats were to be found. The bedrooms were all of a good size with comfortable beds. One thing to note is that the ceilings are not the highest and two of our group were over 6"4 and they needed to be careful, particularly on the top floor however this did not detract from the stay in any way. We used the hot tub and were reassured with its cleanliness as it was checked every morning and on the morning of our departure it was thoroughly cleaned for the next guests. The cottage is in a fantastic location, with stunning views from every window. The outside sitting areas and gardens were also very well presented. An ideal base for exploring the surroundings, we travelled to Barmouth Beach, National Trust properties and took advantage of some recommended walking routes too. Easily space for three cars to park, and also for any EV drivers there is an outside plug socket for you to connect a granny cable to if you bring an extension cable.

The cottage is very cosy and comfortable. The garden area was great for our dog. The kids loved the hot tub and swings.

  • "This property is for 8 persons, who could all be adults, the lack of height in the doorways, stairways and landings/bedrooms can be challenging to tall people."

Again for 8 adults more cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery needs to be provided. Beautiful views quiet countryside and gem of the town of Montgomery. Dishwasher size was too small for the property. The hot tub is a great facility, I would go back again.

  • "Conquer Hall was absolutely perfect and had everything we needed for a cosy, relaxing weekend."

The cottage was perfectly clean everywhere, the beds were super comfy and the eggs & prosecco were a lovely additional touch to welcome us there, in addition to the fresh flowers. My friends and I were excited before arriving, as it looked great online but were all in agreement when we arrived that the photos don't even do it justice in comparison to when you're there! There's so much space, and it's not often that I unpack a suitcase for a 2-3 night stay, but we were all immediately unpacking and utilising the storage space in the bedrooms, making ourselves at home for the weekend. And of course, the hot tub was a lovely feature at the property. We hope to visit again in the future in warmer weather so we can spend more time in the garden! Thank you so much to Russell and family for having us, we couldn't have asked for a more perfect stay. Our only suggestion would be that it would be nice to provide handwash, as we didn't come prepared with one for each of the bathrooms and the kitchen!

We could not fault a single thing about it, felt so cosy in November using the log burner. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed. Beds very comfortable and the hot tub really was the cherry on top of a brilliant stay, we will definitely be staying again!

  • "Nothing was too much hassle for Russell during our stay and he was always contactable if needed."

The only thing that made me slightly un-easy was the high grassed areas in the garden (not good for our dog as he has no fear and tried to jump off a few times) also not good if you had kids and also whilst the underfloor heating in the property works well it being on a constant 20°c was actually quite warm at points with no real way of controlling that it wasn't comfortable. Also recommended purchasing some eggs from Jessica, they are amazing!!

We were very surprised to find a welcome hamper and fresh flowers for us on arrival, a lovely touch. The owner's son Russell was very helpful and accommodating. We had a small problem with the hot tap in one of the bathrooms and he came over very quickly and fixed it. One of the party left a pair of shoes there and he very kindly packaged them up and posted them back. We had a great time and would not hesitate to recommend this cottage to anybody. Top marks for everything Conquer Hall, thank you, we would not hesitate to book again.

The Evan's family have done a superb job of making the cottage very comfortable and luxurious and the addition of the hot tub was marvellous. The welcome hamper far exceeded anything we have received previously and was a nice touch. A visit to Elan Valley is a must! Even though covid 19 put restrictions on various tourist attractions our family had a great time and will definitely return in the future. This is a beautiful cottage and very well priced.
