Walkers can delight in venturing along the Offa’s Dyke Path for some wonderful walking along the Welsh/English border, while heading over the border and into Wales can bring you to the large Norman ruins of Montgomery Castle, the National Trust’s Powis Castle and Garden and the wonderful Welshpool & Llanfair Railway. Chirbury is a village in west Shropshire, England situated in the Vale of Montgomery, close to the Wales–England border. In the village is a village hall, a large public house called The Herbert Arms, and a post office, which is also the village shop. Montgomery is a short drive away and is popular with tourists. The town has a delightful selection of individual shops and a variety of pubs and restaurants, including the Michelin star restaurant, The Checkers, a fabulous way to make your holiday truly special. A few miles to the south is the historic market town of Bishop's Castle, an excellent place for a day or night out with its excellent pubs, live music and festivals throughout the year. A charming destination for a holiday.
