Clean and well equipped. Good WiFi for the family too. Met Rhian on arrival and she checked in with us a few day later to see if everything was ok. Ideal location for access to the surrounding area.

  • "Cosy, comfortable well equipped cottage in beautiful location."

Friendly, helpful owners live next door but are not intrusive at all. Walks from the doorstep but also a perfect base to explore Snowdonia National Park. Also did day trips to see dolphins in New Quay and explore Anglesey. On weekdays low flying military jets overhead as cottage is in Mach Loop (worth the short uphill walk to East Cad from cottage to get perfect eyelevel viewing of jets). would definitely stay here again. It was a magical week.

  • "This was our 2nd visit to this cottage with fabulous views and we were pleased that everything was of the same high standard."

From the cottage there are many hikes in the mountains which surround it, including Cader Idris and after each hike it was a pleasure to return to the peace and quiet of the property. We were blessed with sunny weather nearly all week which allowed us to see the sky at night which was something not to be missed, it was amazing. The friendly owners were very helpful and as the property is on a working farm they were on hand should we have needed them, which we didn’t! We would highly recommend this cottage and we plan to return again.

Fantastic location, close to lots of activities and a few good pubs. Easy communication with property owner. Only downside is the turning for the cottage is easy to miss off the main road!

  • "The photos of the cottage do not do it justice."

It is in a scenic position, surrounded by mountains (including Cader Idris) and is extremely comfortable, a real home from home. The owners were lovely and helpful. The cottage is in an ideal position for hiking, exploring the coast, the Mach loop and visiting historic sites. Castel y bere is a must along with a hike up Birds Rock. The only noise you hear is from the stream which tumbles down the side of the property. We can’t recommend this cottage enough as it is a little gem and we are definitely booking again as a week was not long enough!

  • "The cottage is as described in your literature."

It was so good to be able to live on a working farm and to be able to walk out of the property in to the hills and the wonderful countryside around. We felt very safe in the current pandemic and the owners were extremely friendly and thoughtful.

Lovely surrounding scenery with a running stream next to the cottage to hear as your waiting to go off to sleep. Book it you will not be let down & the owners are very nice people easy to get on with. Thank you Rhian & family. Mal.

  • "Our cottage was comfortable and clean."

Because of covid it was plainer than it might have been, in that they had been advised to take out ornaments, but it still felt homely. We did have an issue with WIFI but the owners living just next door was very handy for sorting out problems and they made a very big effort to help us. BT came round and after their second visit we were able to use our devices to look at google maps and so on. However, because of where the cottage is situated, in a beautiful area surrounded by hills and mountains, it will never be 100% reliable or fast, so if you are thinking of doing work away from home this might not be the place, although it was fine if you just wanted a bit of information now and then or to email people. Also, it would be worth checking whether your phone would receive any signal there as we got none using ours (vodaphone). The owner very kindly lent us a landline phone for incoming calls so that our older daughter could call us from home if she had any problems. They really did all they could to problem solve and be helpful, it's just that you need to be aware that because of where you will be situated, it's just the way things are. You could even see it as a bonus if you want to have a break from constant interruptions or from your devices (some of which worked better than others. My husband's tablet worked better than my laptop for some reason) or if you want to encourage your children to have a bit of a break from them. As long as you have a car it's a perfect place to explore all the wonderful walks and interesting places around and about (Torrent Walk, the Old and New Precipice Walks, The Centre for Alternative Technology, the Iron Age hill fort at Tre'r Ceiri and so on). Even though it's a working farm it's very peaceful and we were never woken up early. The only real noise was the beautiful sound of the stream gushing past (quite fast and deep after rain, so watch out if you have little ones) and it was delightful to be able to watch sheep wandering about, munching away, through the windows. So as long as you are aware the wifi/broadband won't be fast and you may or may not get phone reception, I would say this was a perfect place for a countryside holiday and the owners did everything they could to make it as pleasant as possible, even leaving a packet of much appreciated Welsh Cakes for us to find on our arrival.

  • "What a fabulous find."

The cottage was really well appointed with everything you could possibly need. Despite being located on a working farm the cottage was extremely quiet and peaceful. Only a couple of miles to Dolgellau and situated immediately below the Mach Loop so was perfect for spotting jets from the front lawn. Huw and Rhian were extremely welcoming and helpful with local knowledge and tips about places to visit. Plenty to see and do, a stone’s throw from the farm. We’d love to visit again.
