It fitted our needs perfectly and was ideal for our family holiday. It was beautifully clean, plenty of crockery, cutlery and towels for all. The beds were all really comfy and linen was lovely! The two sitting rooms meant the kids could chill whilst the grown ups caught up over a glass of wine before supper. The goal in the garden was particularly appreciated by the children! The village is lovely, with a great pub, park and masses of public footpaths to explore right from the cottage. The surrounding area offers loads of options for places to visit. For us as a large family we found it difficult to cook as all the kitchen pots and owns seemed like they were passed on from unwanted stock and were either not practical or too small for a family of 8. Pyrex dishes would be so handy. The blue settee in the lounge was uncomfortable and not the one on the listing and there was no statement that the dog was only allowed in the kitchen and snug which was difficult as our dog come everywhere with us. We were scared to lean back on several kitchen chairs as they were broken. However John was so very lovely, the beds were comfortable, the snug was comfy and the house was super quirky, all of which was very welcome. Also the Barley Mow is within walking distance and is lovely and does a cracking Sunday roast.

  • "The property is in a great location & had plenty of space for our large group."

The bedrooms were all comfortable and clean. The garden was safe & secure for the dog & was very pleasant to sit on a sunny autumnal day. The kitchen has plenty of equipment but it is a bit random - both in terms of trying to find things (pots & pans were in about 3 different places!) and completeness - there were 9 beautiful champagne flutes (we didn't use them) but we struggled to find 6 wine glasses to use. 2 things I wasn't happy about were: 1) the toilet seats. The upstairs 1 was split & the downstairs 1 was wobbly 2) the kitchen cupboard doors - most were battered & scratched & many were wonky, in particular the door next to the fridge & the drawer next to the dishwasher However, this is still a great property for a big family or group & the owner was friendly & keen to check we were happy. The countryside is beautiful & nearby Oswestry has everything you could need. There are many things to do in the local area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Mr. John (owner) is a lovely gentleman. We love the cottage and the facilities. But the mobile network is extremely poor and the WiFi only works in the sitting room which is quite annoying. The adjustment of hot and cold water was irritating too and it was hard to take shower in both shower rooms at the same time because of slow water flow. We also could not find any place to visit nearby. Anyway we enjoyed a lot as we went to take full rest rather than going out and the cottage is the perfect place to hang around.

We especially enjoyed our family time in the well-lit spacious kitchen, using the large table to eat at and to play games on. The island was perfect for the 1000 piece puzzle that we brought with us. The owners gave us a nice welcome, and said to ask if we needed anything. • "This was the perfect holiday home for all the family as we celebrated a big birthday."

We were all made to feel so welcome on arrival and our dogs just loved the big kitchen where they could rest after a long walk through the fields. The beds were so comfortable with plenty of pillows and an extra blanket if it was cold ( we didn't need these as it was nice and warm). The kitchen was well equipped with plenty of pans for cooking, plates for eating on and even plastic plates and cups for the children. Great thought has gone into providing everything that was needed to ensure we had a fabulous time. The garden was fully fenced so our dogs could play in the garden together with the children. We used the kitchen quite a lot because the table was big enough to accommodate all of us and it was nice to sit in there and relax with a glass of wine after a day's exploring. A big thank you to the owners for recommending places to take the children as this was so helpful. The home was spotlessly clean in every room. Thank you for the cakes, wine and milk left for us to eat - all this was polished off very quickly. Would definitely add this to a list to visit again.
