Let me start by saying that this is THE NICEST cottage we have ever had the pleasure of staying in... And we've stayed in a few! From a seamless booking process, with emails every few weeks with information, including what time to arrive and how to gain access to the property, to arriving on the day to a more than pleasant sight. You can tell the owners really have gone out of their way to make sure that they know what anyone should need, when they stay in a cottage. The property was immaculate (a term I rarely use) and wholly inviting. Gorgeous little treats dotted around such as fresh flowers, crisps and a bottle of milk and prosecco chilling in the fridge... Giving you the extra WOW factor. However, it's the property which speaks volumes for itself. A huge master bedroom with en suite, utility room, bathroom, second bedroom with two single beds and an open plan living room/kitchen with everything you'll need. Not to mention two open fires in the property. We were lucky enough to meet the family who own the property and have to say they are a delight. They gave some tips on places to visit in the local area such as Peterhead Prison Museum, Banff, Inverness and Balmoral Castle (for the spring and summer), which we loved. Insch is a quaint little place with a train station to Aberdeen and Inverness. The countryside is simply stunning, where you can't hear a thing. If peace and quiet is what you're looking for, this is your place! Highly recommended. We'll be back!

The property

Insch 2 miles.

This quite stunning steading conversion is peacefully situated amongst the rolling Aberdeenshire countryside and has beautiful far reaching views.

The Steading is next door to the owner's own home and yet completely private.

Much care and attention to detail has been taken to ensure that this property offers a touch of luxury to visitors who will appreciate the many extras that come with it.

The bright and spacious accommodation has two bedrooms, one a twin room and the master suite benefiting from not just an en-suite shower room but a walk-in wardrobe, a woodburning stove and full glass doors out to the front of the property.

The main living area is a contemporary space with a large sitting area set out around a cosy woodburning stove, a dining area and smart and very well-equipped kitchen.

From the sitting room doors lead out onto a large decked terrace from which there are lovely open views.

The hot tub is well placed to ensure that guests can fully appreciate the stunning scenery whilst relaxing in the lovely hot bubbles.

There is also a barbecue and lots of comfortable seating so guests will really enjoy this outside space.

To the side is a lawned garden where there are swings and a trampoline for children and in fact the whole property is very child friendly.

The sleeping arrangements do offer flexibility as there is a smart sofa bed in the sitting room and also a good folding bed available for use if required.

It may be difficult to leave the luxury of this property but there is a lot to do close by.

Visitors will enjoy a walk up Bennachie, which some say is the most loved hill in Britain, and the many different routes up all ensure great views and exercise!

For golfers Insch has its own special 18 hole course set between the peaks of Bennachie and Dunnideer, with many other courses nearby including Meldrum, Kemnay and Trump.

The granite city of Aberdeen is a 45 minute drive away and a 40 minute train journey, exploring Scotland's third biggest city makes a very interesting day out.

You could try the Whisky Trail and Lecht skiing.

The visitors lucky enough to have booked this cottage will always be in a hurry to return to the sheer comfort that awaits them after a day out exploring.
