  • "The password code for wifi should be in info folder as the sykes agent was given wrong code as one of the code letters given was actually the letter s."

We eventually found wifi box in store cupboard on last day of holiday and one member of the family was very dissappointed. We would have rated sykes 5/5 if passcode had been in the info folder.

  • "Aboyne provides for a comfortable stay."

The fittings and fixtures, along with furnishings were to a high standard. We checked into a clean and tidy house and found the neighbours warm/friendly. The local Co-op is well stocked and Tesco super store is a couple of miles. Good location with beaches, rivers within 30 mins drive. We were lucky to enjoy warm & sunny weather for most of our stay. Thoroughly recommend this property!

  • "The absence of a chair in both the bedroom and bathroom was surprising and a handicap for those who need somewhere to leave clothes at night and who need to sit on leaving the shower."

The shower itself was somewhat inaccessible given the narrowness of the door and the high step up. The lack of blinds or curtains on several windows was unhelpful for someone with impaired vision. The Border biscuits thoughtfully left for coffee had a use by date in January 2021! It was spotlessly clean and very well appointed apart from the above points.

  • "Great house with everything you need."

Very clean and comfortable and only a 3 minute drive to the centre of town. Great location with stunning coastal and riverside walks. Would definitely recommend.

  • "The house is excellent, very modern and well equipped."

Space for 2 cars, neighbors lovely people. It is part of a modern estate that is on the edge of town with a reasonably well-stocked Co-op about 100m away (Tesco 1.5 miles). Opposite is a hotel with a reasonable bar, which offers a good opportunity to have a pint or meal. Two good playgrounds for kids within 0.5 mile, safe to let kids out, all very kid friendly around the house and area. Walking into town is about 20-25 minutes, mainly along a main road but it is relatively quiet. In town lots of good little shops, baker, coffee shops, two excellent butchers and an outstanding pub, Sueno Stone is world class. The Mosset Tavern is a great pub for meals and real ale (good choice especially for post-lockdown). Forres is a great base as it is 6 miles to the excellent Findhorn (beach, Foundation, and more), 23 miles to Grantown along a very good road and an hour to Aviemore, so beach and mountains available. The house is very spacious and laid out in a contemporary stylish manner. Beds are very comfortable and showers etc great. It being a modern property it is very warm. The kitchen is very well equipped and great oven etc, dining table could accommodate 8. Good internet and TV etc, felt very comfortable. No qualms about returning and our group was between 5-8 in size over the 2 weeks we were there. Minor issues: The cleaning/maintenance is contracted out and although house was clean, there was some points that the owner may wish to address No washing up liquid provided The lawn did not look as though it had been cut for at least two/three weeks before we arrived and was not cut until a few days after we asked (cut on day 10 of holiday) Quibbling about giving us 3 or 6 dishwasher tablets, limited supply of toilet roll Possibly the most minimal welcome pack (above nothing) we have had from any accommodation. These points did not diminish the quality of our stay, nor from returning, but just need to be pointed out.

  • "Firstly the directions given by Sykes were completely wrong, there is no access to the property from the B9010 the actual access is on the southern outskirts of Forres from the A940."

Secondly there is not enough comfortable seating for 7 people in the lounge (massive electric chair and couches for 5 persons only) and the dining room is too small for access round the table if the table is extended. On arrival - 5.15 pm the cleaners were still there and despite an email from the owner stating there would be a welcome pack, including milk, there was nothing. Just a good job there was a co-op nearby. Well equipped with crockery and cutlery which we needed to wash before use (just not clean). Answering your question below, I don't think you will wish to.

  • "The property was equipped to a higher spec than any of us expected."

The kitchen had everything and more. The recliners were a nice bonus. We were a nice distance away from the town centre but at the same time it was handy to get to.
