  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Wee Wickie."

The location in Lossiemouth was perfect, quick walk to the beach and Co-op shop 5 mins walk away. Garden totally enclosed and safe for our dogs who loved it. Cottage had everything we needed and some thoughtful welcome treats provided by the owner which were much appreciated. Shame the weather wasn’t better so we could enjoy long evenings outside in the garden.

Aw so glad you enjoyed your stay in Wee Wickie! Unfortunately the weather let us down slightly… but hopefully the fabulous beaches made up for it…. Shame when you have dogs that they want out whatever the weather rather than being able to cosy up inside, but wet dog smell is more than compensated by dog cuddles!! Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely holiday and the cottage is comfortable and everything you need is provided for."

However there were two issues we had with the house that spoiled our overall experience. 1) There was a distinctly rotten smell at times in the cottage, which we raised with the owners. We weren't sure if it was from the drains or possibly the fridge/freezer as every time you opened the fridge door the smell seemed to become more intense. Nothing was found by the owners and no solution was put forward. We put up with the issue but this resulted in us leaving a day early. 2) The garden is advertised as dog friendly. Sadly at the moment it is anything but and is overgrown and untidy. There was a pile of wood beside the patio for the wood burner and numerous pieces had nails sticking out of them. Very dangerous if your dog is a climber like our dog. In general it wasn't a pleasant place to sit out in. After a difficult for my wife and I this was hugely disappointing and we won't be back

Very disappointed to read this, especially when we accommodated 3 changes to their booking date. When told of the issue we attended the cottage immediately… no smell detected despite smelling down sink and under cupboards. We did wonder whether their over ripe bananas were cause. Asked that they let us know if smell returned- they did not. No issues raised by guests before or after their week. We provide wood to guests at no charge for wood burning stove… there are nails in it but in a neat pile did not anticipate this causing issues. Property Owner

Welcome pack was much appreciated & thoughtful, especially after a 9 hour drive there!! My only negative, is a second toilet would have been great, particularly for a family! I would definitely return, dogs enjoyed it too, with a safe enclosed garden. Thank you Donna & George

  • "Lovely cottage."

Unfortunately first cottage which had been booked and deposit paid was withdrawn within two months of the start of our holiday. Wee Wickie was £350 more Skye’s only contributed £50 towards difference. Took 45 minutes to answer the phone on two occasions., and the choice at this late stage was one of one as we had dogs. Would definitely not recommend this company we have had holiday cottages for many years and never had this happen.

The front photo of this cottage does not do it justice. The attention to detail inside, and in the garden, make it one of the best we have ever booked. Interior features co-ordinated to the location beautifully, several much appreciated extras awaited our arrival. • "This is an excellent place to stay!"

We found it very comfortable and included all the small little things that make your stay homely. we only had an issue with seating as there was one 2 seater settee and 2 smaller seats. This has addressed by putting another 2 seater settee in. This was done on the day after we left! Nothing was too much bother for us. Loved staying here as it had it all- BBQ, Fire pit, outside table chairs and SKY! Well Done Donna.

We felt welcome immediately with the lovely welcome pack left by the owners. We felt it was very dog friendly and the welcome pack included treats for the pups. Very clean and compact little house which is nicely decorated - very cute. Lots to do nearby - the beaches were amazing and luckily we enjoyed sunny days then cosy nights by the fire. Plenty of nice walks, wildlife (peregrine falcon in the garden on our last day), restaurants, pubs and takeaways within walking distance. Donna sent a message soon after our arrival to check we had settled in or if we needed anything which we appreciated - we had everything we needed and had a pleasant and enjoyable visit. Thank you!

The property

Up in the northeast of Scotland in the coastal town of Lossiemouth, lies Wee Wickie, a pretty semi-detached cottage, with a sunshine yellow door and just a few minutes' walk to the sea.

With three bedrooms and beautifully finished communal rooms, this property is perfect for a small family or a small group of friends.

An open-plan living space creates a stylish yet relaxing environment for you to come home to after a day out, where you can busy yourself in your own activities whether that be cooking in the sleek kitchen, reading a good book or watching TV.

Take advantage of the Smart TV which also has a Sky package and find a good film to settle down with in the evening in front of the fire.

Affording itself perfectly for those less able, the master bedroom lies on the ground floor, complete with double bed and delightful coordinating decor.

Next to this room is the sparkling shower room, holding a walk-in shower, basin and WC, that you will love getting ready in everyday.

Moving upstairs will bring you to the final two rooms; two single rooms, both with velux windows in the charming sloping ceilings, letting the natural light flood in and complement the furnishings.

When you've got the weather, let the kids have a run around outside in the pretty enclosed garden that has lawn and patio areas with furniture, and for those chillier evenings when you don't want it to end, light up the outdoor chimera for some extra warmth.

Just a few minutes' walk from the cottage will bring you out to Lossiemouth Marina, where you can enjoy a quiet stroll around the harbour and the side streets, with a viewpoint looking out over the beach and town for a classic holiday photo opportunity.

As well as the marina, you will also delight in visiting both of Lossiemouth's beaches; a walk along West Beach will take you past the Covesea Lighthouse and is about three miles long, while East Beach has large sand dunes running parallel to the sea and river.

This part of the coast is great for boat trips, sea angling, or for those who love watersports, surfing is particularly popular.

Wee Wickie is a beautiful property, tastefully decorated in a modern seaside theme with lots of quirky touches.
