  • "The cottage is beautiful and is so well equipped with everything you need."

The little treats on arrival were very thoughtful indeed. It’s lovely and spacious and spotlessly clean. We will definitely book again in the future. The owner’s communication was brilliant too. If you are thinking of booking this cottage just do it. It’s the best cottage we have ever stayed in.

  • "Lovely cottage."

Was as described. Owner was very helpful and understanding, totally unphased when we confessed to breaking a glass and burning the fireside rug when sparks from the fire landed on it. Good welcome pack and even the dogs were catered for with bed, blanket, towels and treats. Would happily return Close to shops and both beaches but unfortunately the east beach was inaccessible due to closure of the bridge. Missed the Beach Bar as there was a lack of dog friendly pubs to eat although Brandon Arms and the Tap room at Windsurf brewery were very dog friendly for a drink. Coulard Inn was the only place we found to eat with the dogs but the chef was going on holiday so only managed 1 meal there. Made use of the pizza and fish and chip shop carry outs which were fine.

Owners are fantastic. Even put a few little toys in for my son who was a similar age as their grandson. Our dog had his very own welcome pack too. Just so much thought goes into everything for a perfect stay. Really is one of the best places we have stayed. Will definitely be back. Thanks so much for a lovely holiday.

  • "The cottage is very good and although there is no central heating (which many of us are used to nowadays), the owners do provide plenty of fuel for the log burning stove and oil filled radiators which have small wheels and are easily moved."

At the time of year we were there, it was windy, wet and cold, so, when the door from the lounge to the kitchen was opened a cold chill hit you. The secret is be prepared for all weathers in March as we also had a few sunny days which were lovely.

  • "The cottage was very well equipped."

There was plenty of room for 6 of us to stay and even a dining room with table that allowed us to all sit down for Xmas lunch. The owner, Donna, sent us a very comprehensive email about our arrival, suggested route and lots of information on thing to see and do in the area. A lovely cottage and we thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas break there.

  • "Cottage was in excellent condition, modern and fresh decor, well equipped kitchen, and well equipped cottage in general."

Only drawback was that the mattresses on the beds were extremely soft which made it impossible for me to share the small double bed with my husband as I felt like i was on a trampoline (so I slept in one of the spare single beds in the twin room). The location is perfect - 2 minutes walk from the co-op, 2 minutes walk from the harbour, and a 5 minute walk in either direction to the 2 gorgeous beaches. It was very easy to find and the owner was easy to contact and extremely kind and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Donna and George were great hosts. The cottage was so well laid out. They thought of everything. They provided a very generous starter pack with wine, cheeses, loose tea, teabags, coffee, sugar, shortbread, milk, pizza starter pack & sauce. They supplied laundry pods in the laundry room with a washer and a dryer and dishwashing tablets for the dishwasher. The house had every luxury and was appointed so well with the lovely furnishings and pieces depicting its seaside location. They also have USB ports in the plug sockets which is great for travellers.. There were loads of DVDs and books and games with two smart TV's and an outdoor wood fired pizza oven. The beds were really comfortable with lovely bed linen and it's lovely to watch the many birds outside on the bird feeders. It's situated in a great location and they supplied loads of information for tourist activities. We travel a lot and have stayed in many holiday homes, but this has been one of the best. We would certainly like to return and can highly recommend Wickie Cottage for a holiday location.

The property

Centrally situated in the pretty fishing village of Lossiemouth is this utterly charming semi-detached stone cottage, presented to a high standard with lots of attention to detail and thoughtful extras.

Wickie Cottage is ideal for a family or group of friends who want to explore the beautiful north east coastline and return to a welcoming cottage at the end of an active day.

With a tasteful nautical theme throughout, there is a fabulous sitting room with cosy woodburner that leads off to both the dining area and the well-equipped kitchen.

The ultra-modern shower room is on the ground floor along with the double en-suite bedroom.

A quirky design provides access up from the bedroom to a large utility/boot room area that gives direct access out into the pretty rear garden.

The first floor has two attractive bedrooms with the nautical theme continuing here.

In the summer time the rear enclosed garden with its patio area and pizza oven provide a wonderful venue for outside dining with homemade pizzas allowing everyone their favourite topping!

Lossiemouth boasts a spectacular long sandy beach ideal for young and old and the busy marina with its welcoming cafes and little shops give the village a special seaside atmosphere.

From Lossiemouth so much can be explored, go northwards following the coast and visit many attractive fishing villages or go inland and pick up the famous malt whisky trail, stopping off at the many distilleries along route.

Also both Elgin and Inverness are worth exploring and are great for shopping.

A lovely cottage for a wonderful holiday!

About the location

Elgin 6 miles.

Lossiemouth is known locally as ‘the Riviera of the north’ because of its location, which benefits from the effects of the Gulf Stream and therefore has a temperate climate. Situated on Scotland’s north east coast, Lossiemouth is a perfect holiday destination as it not only boasts a very rich and interesting history with lots of visitor attractions but is also perfectly located to offer a wide choice of outdoor pursuits. The town itself has a surprisingly good selection of shops, hotels, pubs and restaurants and its wonderful coastal location means that the sea is always lapping away in the background. A walk along the coastal road is a refreshing and exhilarating experience as is a round of golf on the course located beside the shoreline. If you like being out on the water then you can choose to go fishing or perhaps dolphin watching on one of the many boat trips available. West Beach is a beach that stretches for 3 miles, beside the famous Covesea Lighthouse and this area is a windsurfers dream. For hill walkers and cyclists there are many trails and routes to follow and along the way you will notice the wildlife all around you. The north east coast has many charming fishing villages and a short drive from one will lead you along to the next, each with its own history and atmosphere. Whether your choice of holiday is in the history, outdoor pursuits, wildlife, touring or simply relaxing, it is all here in bucket loads!
