Glen Dye Cottages

Two beautiful cottages set in the stunning Glen Dye Estate, close to the village of Banchory. Both properties have been designed to the highest standard with a charming blend of modern and traditional. The interior design throughout is vibrant and elegant, complementing the traditional touches and the stunning outdoor areas. Spacious bedrooms with carefully selected furniture, modern luxurious bathrooms, inspiring living spaces and perfectly equipped kitchens that will satisfy the keenest of cooks. Each cottage has access to its own Swedish wood fired hot tub set in a secluded woodland area, private and yet wild. Both cottages sit within a stone's throw of open hill ground and spectacular walks up Clachnaben which is paradise for dog walkers and outdoor enthusiasts. For additional hiking and biking, there is the Scolty Hill, situated 11 miles from the property, at the top of which you will find a 20m tall monument and spectacular views. Local shops, pub's and cafes can be found in Banchory, a mere 15 minute drive. Both properties are a tranquil retreat, perfect for a relaxing holiday with loved ones in Scotland.

The property

North Lodge - 6 people (+2 cabin dwellers!) Package includes private woodland cabin, Swedish wood-fired hot tub and riverside summer house. Built in 1898 and completely rebuilt in 2018, this property adjoins a traditional shooting lodge and is a stone's throw from the entrance to the hills of Glen Dye.

Sleeping 6 in two doubles and one twin room, the property has one bathroom and a second shower room.

With a fully equipped kitchen and utility area, a fantastic entrance hall with plenty of space for outdoor paraphernalia, and a sitting room with an open fire, North Lodge provides a fabulous base for some serious exploring.

Take a short walk via a private pathway that winds down by the river via The Summerhouse and you will find yourself in a secluded space with access to a woodland cabin (with woodburner and two camp beds available) and outdoor (or indoor) eating area (complete with a Big Green Egg BBQ), and an amazing Swedish wood fired hot tub overlooking the river - which is perfect for a spot of wild swimming either before or after a cosy soak.

Spot lights make this area useable at night.

Banchory is an attractive Scottish town lying approximately 15 miles west of Aberdeen on the banks of the River Dee. It is a vibrant and well serviced town and nearby Crathes Castle is a popular tourist attraction and is considered to be one of the most superb castles in Scotland. The castle is open all year and owned by the National Trust for Scotland. Banchory boasts its own golf club with a driving range, mountain bike trails and a skatepark near the centre of the town. Of course, the River Dee offers excellent fishing opportunities and permits can be obtained locally. The pleasant high street has a supermarket and a fascinating mixture of shops where finding that special holiday souvenir will be easy.
