  • "We had a fantastic stay at Woodside cottage."

Dee the owner is to be commended on her attention to guests needs and the cottage itself is so homely and comfortable. The furnishings and cleanliness of the cottage are a credit to Dee and the welcome pack was the best we have had. The beds were very comfortable and the cottage has an excellent shower. Although we had very mild weather at the time of our holiday the heating was on throughout our stay and we were very cosy. The garden was very safe and secure for our dog and there is beautiful woodland to excersise dogs right opposite the house. The fresh roses and guest toiletries were a nice touch too. I would not hesitate to recommend the cottage and we are looking forward to our next holiday there in March 2022.

Be prepared for driving single track roads. The Host Dee was great and available if needed. A great area to drive to the bigger towns for shopping or long strolls along wonderful beaches. Will be back for sure

  • "Woodside is a lovely cottage, very well presented and spotlessly clean."

It is surrounded by fields on 3 sides with a wood opposite the front garden, ideal for walking dogs. From the rear of the garden is a lovely view across the fields to Lossiemouth bay and the summer house has been ideally situated to make the most of the view. A very generous welcome pack was also provided.

  • "Truly wonderful little rural cottage."

Surrounded by open countryside with views of Moray Firth. The cottage is one of the very best we have stayed in. Immaculately clean throughout, extremely well equipped, loads of cleaning materials and equipment and an outstanding welcome basket of Scottish foods. Host clearly knows her stuff and other providers need to take a leaf out of her book. She actively encourages you to use the cottage, its out buildings and garden to maximise your holiday enjoyment. Particularly appreciated being able to switch on heating in cooler evenings. Despite the great weather I do feel the cold so this was a real benefit for me. Other holidaymakers mention a busy road...what nonsense, yes we seen farm vehicles and the odd car...but it is NOT a busy road. We would love to come back to Woodside Cottage.

  • "To say this exceeded our expectations, is an understatement."

Woodside cottage is based in an idyllic location with lovely views of the Moray Firth. The cottage itself was exceptional. Very clean, modern with a cosy atmosphere. Dee, the owner, messaged us personally prior to our stay. She had laid out an amazing welcome basket for our arrival including a welcome card, wine, biscuits, bread, coffee, sugar, etc and even milk in the fridge. The cottage had everything we required for our stay. A lovely touch was also the dog treats for our four legged friend. He thoroughly enjoyed them. The garden is a good size and pristine looking. The summer house was a great addition to the property and we had a few relaxing evenings sitting in it watching the world go by. Surprised by some of the reviews stating traffic was an issue for them as the cottage sits beside a single track road and very little in the way of vehicles passed by. We certainly didn't notice anything noise wise. If you have a dog with you, there is a nice woodland walk just across the road. We spotted a few deer on our trek. All in all one of the best, if not THE best holiday cottages we have stayed in and will definitely be returning for another stay in the near future. Very highly recommended.

Warm welcome from the owner and a fabulous welcome package. The cottage had all the facilities one could wish for. Not too far away from fantastic beaches and sites but far enough away to feel secluded. Large garden which was enclosed so safe for our little dog.Outdoor seating area with a delightful summer house to enjoy. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this superb holiday home,in fact one could live there quite comfortably. Met some lovely people as they walked past while exercising their dogs.

It is up a short single track road. Amazing views await you on arrival. The cottage and garden were immaculately kept. The cottage was so clean. Furnishings were off good quality and very comfortable. The bed was comfortable and it was lovely not to wake up in pain as we have done at previous holiday accomodation. Lovely textiles throughout that added to the comfort of the cosy cottage. We had everything we needed for the week, it was very well stocked. The owner had left the most amazing welcome basket, treats for us and the dog. The drive way was big and easy to enter. The garden was amazing, it wrapped around the cottage, the dog loved it. We had fresh apples and plums to eat from the trees in the garden. The summer house was a bonus that had amazing views up and down the Moray firth We had the best week relaxing and exploring all the quaint villages in the area. Beaches galore. We deffo want to go back to the area and would have no hesitation staying at the cottage again. So worthy of 5 stars.

  • "Woodside Cottage is nestled in a beautiful countryside setting seemingly in the middle of nowhere but with shops and amenities only a few minutes drive away."

Cottage was very nice, clean and tidy inside and out, very warm and cosy. Lovely welcome hamper waiting for us when we arrived. We only had one problem which was with the WiFi that the storm the night before had knocked out, but this was sorted promptly by the owner. We had beautiful weather all week apart from 5 minutes rain the day we visited Loch Ness. Our favourite place was Cullen, just a few miles down the road, nice little town and a mile long beautiful beach, with stunning views from the hills as well. There was no light pollution either outside the cottage, perfect for star gazing. 10/10

  • "Absolutely fabulous holiday had at Woodside Cottage, everything about the place was perfect."

We spent most of our time at the cottage in the beautiful garden looking out to the bay and the mountains beyond on the sunnier days, the cars were so infrequent on the road outside it just wasn't an issue. We will most certainly be back.

  • "The gift basket was a very generous surprise when we arrived as well as the kind welcome we received via personalised messages."

The cottage was immaculately clean and the grounds were ample with the summer house and its great view a particular delight. The location is remote, we knew that going in, and so a car is essential. But with that, civilisation is less than 5 miles away so if anything it's a nice retreat. We went during coronavirus so there was a certain limit to out-and-about things to do but again, we knew that going in and as we have two under sevens, all we needed was a playpark (and a nearby Granny!) and they were happy. So yes, very much recommended!

The cottage was beautiful with a great view over Lossiemouth beach. We say and watched the sunset in the summer house most evenings. As it got dark we were visited by a barn owl and a couple of deer in the adjacent field. The cottage is situated in a near perfect location as it feels remote but is only 10 minutes from a big Tesco and 15 minutes from Cullen bay beach by car. As a runner there are plenty of woodland trails straight out the door, but be prepared for some hills! And as a family we went on lots of picturesque walks as well as body boarding and chilling on the beach. We'll be back!

From entering the kitchen and seeing the enormous welcome pack on the table, biscuits two packs, butter, bread, crisps, coffee, tea bags, milk, and shortbread and dog treats as well. We knew Woodside was somewhere special. The cottage was immaculately clean, fresh flowers in the living room, wood burner ready to light, with extra logs kindling and matches at the side, and fully centrally heated by thermostat in the hall way. The telly has brilliant reception, and the two two seater sofa's are very comfortouble, with risers to support your tired legs after your day out.The bathroom could have been fitted the day before we arrived it was that clean and fresh, credit here to whoever cleans Woodside. The double bed we used was just great, better than been at home, plenty of storage space as well in the wardrobes and dressers. The kitchen was like the rest of the property, immaculate and extremely functional. Outside Woodside looks like the pictures you see on postcards, almost magical. It sits on a no through road and apart from a couple of cars passing morning and evening, tranquility reigns supreme. If you have a mutt like we have, there is a forest across the road with unrestricted access. When inside there are masses of tracks which any dog will love to explore. Just a word about the owner Dee, a message when we arrived, a message as we left, just making sure all was well. Just the right amount of contact and not intrusive in any way. So if we could give Woodside 12/10 we would. Enjoy this wonderful holiday cottage, we certainly did.
