“Despite being on the main thoroughfare in the village, it was surprising quiet.”

All the facilities like shops, eateries and pubs were open and welcoming. The weekly visiting fish and chip van was a real bonus. Our major disappointment was the cancellation on of the Royal Highland Games but there is always next year.

The property

Grantown-on-Spey 13.7 miles.

A marvellous two-storey house situated on the main street in the village of Tomintoul.

Located within the borders of Cairngorms National Park, you can only imagine the picturesque views of the Scottish Highlands.

As you kick off your boots in the porch and walk along the corridor of the property you will be greeted by a spacious sitting room, the ideal place to unwind in the typical weather of Scotland, with a lovely woodburner to keep you warm as you watch the rain pour across the hills through the large bay windows, however it’s also the perfect property for the summer months, with lovely walking routes and easy access to tourist attractions such as the nearby Glenlivet and the Cairgorms, it’s the perfect property for any month of the year!

Head into the kitchen where you can find ample preparation areas to create all your favourite meals, why not try out a Come Dine With Me style and take it in turns to cook for each other?

Or if you fancy something less risky (and maybe more delicious…), we recommend heading into town of Grantown-on-Spey, boasting an array of quirky and quaint bars and restaurants it’s a brilliant place to spend either a lunch time with loved ones or a Saturday night with your partner.

At the end of the day, head up the royal red staircase leading to two double bedrooms, both offering views of the back garden and the hills beyond, the perfect scene to the end of a perfect day.

Be sure to check out the local facilities, with Tomintoul being the highest village in the Highlands at 1160 ft, it offers amazing views from the tea rooms or a pub where you can sit back with a cold beverage and take in the scenery.

There are various attractions for all ages and interests just a short trip away from the village, including Speyside Whisky Tours; perfect for a Father’s Day trip, Glenlivet Mountain Bike Trails for those with a adventurous side, and Wild Alba Tours for the nature lover, just to mention a few.

This property is in the ideal location for an action-packed trip surrounded by lush landscapes and fun for all.
