  • "Larchgrove is a lovely pet friendly cottage located in a quiet, beautiful location."

15/20 minutes by car to Aberlour city when you can find different local amenities. The house was comfortable and clean. We loved conservatory,  great place to have a coffee in the morning and to play board games in the evening. The only thing I would say is that people who are staying there for holidays should ensure that they put bins out when they're being collected. They're clearly not emptied often as when we arrived most of the bins outside were full. Overall, I really recommend this place ;)

  • "Great cottage, lovely and cosy."

The dogs loved the garden so much I think they were upset to leave. A bit of a drive out to the nearest shop/pub but we weren’t too bothered. Great walk to be had to Glenlivet distillery from the cottage.

  • "Really ideal if you are looking for a secluded and quiet location."

Local amenities approx. 8 miles away, and opening hours need to be considered. Beautiful cottage and surroundings.

  • "This holiday met our expectations the cottage was well equipped with complimentary milk and tea/coffee a welcome after our journey."

We have two dogs and the very large garden and wooded area they enjoyed with it being totally secure. A lot of time was spent in the conservatory with the abundance of birds/wildlife to watch. The phone signal is poor but the WiFi made up for this, we all returned home fully refreshed.

  • "Larchgrove is a lovely cottage in a beautiful part of the world."

We really enjoyed exploring the Glenlivet estate and this was a perfect base for doing that. The house was very clean and comfortable. The garden was lovely. We loved sitting in the conservatory. We found the parking was ok with enough room to turn around. There is a lot of loud traffic going past (a lot of tractors) but in between it is completely silent.

  • "Lovely house with a beautiful garden."

In a great location, lots to see and do nearby. We visited Ballindalloch Castle, Glenlivet Brewery, Aberlour, Tomintoul, Grantown on Spey, Craggan outdoor activity center and Brodie Castle. The house had lots of space for our family (2 adults and 2 kids). Loved the conservatory, great space for playing board games with the kids and relaxing. Mattresses could do with being upgraded and need blinds/curtains fitted on the bedroom windows, we managed to use towels and blankets but it wasn’t ideal. Otherwise we had a lovely stay and a fantastic holiday in a beautiful part of Scotland.

  • "The cottage is very old and set in an extremely beautiful garden which is basically the side of a hill."

Absolutely not suitable for the elderly or disabled and that is not made clear in the description. It is comfortable and clean but I had a problem with the refuse bins which were already full to overflowing on my day of arrival and situated outside the conservatory. It was 5 days before they were due to be emptied and I was expected to pull them down the steep driveway across the road, which I did. Looking at the amount of rubbish I doubt the previous holidaymakers had bothered for a month. Only 1 tea towel a available, no spare bin liners for the kitchen bin. The extremely good shower over the bath did not have a non slip mat to stand on so I had to go and purchase one. Take provisions with you as nearest shop is a 20 mile round trip.

  • "Loved the cottage and if you like remote this is definitely the place to stay."

We knew it was isolated by the description, but perhaps didn’t take on board just how far this cottage is from everything.

  • "Ideal house for a relaxing break ."

lovely quiet location but a short drive away from many other destinations and walks. We had a great time and our dog loved the spacious gardens and on the doorstep walks too.

  • "Good Central location for venturing around, the cottage itself very comfortable and spacious."

If there is a down side it is the amount of heavy lorries going to the local distilleries 24 hours a day.

  • "The location of the cottage for us was brilliant, good large secure garden, warm and cozy, and not far to go for some nice walks, and for us we had really good weather ."

  • "We arrived in the dark after a very long drive, the house was difficult to find as there was no visible signpost for the property, except for a tiny sign on a very narrow driveway to the side of the property."

The house was everything Sykes Cottages had told us and once inside we were greeted with fresh milk in the fridge mince pies and a bottle of wine, also tea, coffee and sugar for our convenience, this was a very welcome surprise. Thank you, we enjoyed our stay very much and will always use Sykes Cottages in the future.
