The property

Nestled in the heart of the charming town of Elgin, once known as Scotland’s smallest city, lies this quaint semi-detached home, Morlich.

Set over three floors, this inviting retreat is well-placed for enjoying the delights of the town and accessing the fantastic scenery and history of Scotland.

Step into the entrance hallway before finding the kitchen/diner, dominated by a range cooker with 5-ring gas hob and double oven, alongside a washing machine and integrated dishwasher to assist with the washing up.

Impress the group with a hearty feast, served at the dining table as you pop open a bottle of fizz to toast a long-awaited getaway with loved ones.

Spend your down time in the lounge, cosying up on the sofa and tuning into the television, or move to the enclosed patio, complete with bistro table and chairs - it’s a lovely spot for alfresco dining on a balmy evening.

When the night rolls in, head upstairs to the first floor, offering two sizeable bedrooms, each with double beds, served by an adjacent bathroom.

The bath has a shower over it giving you choice on how to unwind or prepare for the day ahead.

Venture to the second floor to reveal two single rooms with soft furnishings, built into the eaves of the roof.

It makes an ideal spot for children.

When you’re ready to explore, head into the town centre and discover the stunning remnants of the 13th century Elgin Cathedral.

Known as the ‘Lantern of the North’, it is one of Scotland’s most beautiful medieval cathedrals.

Gain a snapshot into the history of the area by exploring Elgin Museum, Scotland’s oldest independent museum, which boasts exhibits from all over the World but with a particular focus on Moray.

You could also ascend Lady Hill, now topped by the magnificent Gordon memorial column and once home to Elgin Castle.

Elgin is in the heart of whisky country and Glen Moray, Elgin’s own distillery, is one of the highlights of the Malt Whisky Trail.

Alternatively, you may like to visit Johnstons of Elgin to experience the history and craftsmanship of their World renowned woollens and cashmere knitwear.

Head six miles towards the north east coast to enjoy the sandy beaches of Lossiemouth, as well as the shoreside golf course, the fisheries museum, the thriving marina and the nearby Covesea Lighthouse with its Royal Navy and Royal Air Force Heritage Centre.

If exploration takes you further afield, venture to Inverness, the ‘capital of the Highlands', for excellent shopping facilities.

A little further afield lies Loch Ness where you can enjoy some of Scotland’s finest scenery, the ruins of Urquhart Castle, and picturesque walks.

With plenty to fill your holiday itinerary, and with Morlich as your base, there's plenty to look forward to.
