  • "This is our second visit to Findhorn,& and our second stay at Aurora View."

. Findhorn a beautiful place, beaches are amazing, lovely walks a long the beach, lots of places to go,Culloden not far,Inverness by train,Elgin,Lossiemouth,& lots more!!,fabulous places to eat highly recommend the Crown & Anchor pub in Findhorn,& the Bothy in Burghead,so much to do & see, loved every minute Our apartment Aurora View, had a lovely stay, the apartment has stunning views looking out to sea,& the grounds are lovely, saw the deer a few times!!,the only grumble we had,the apartment looks a bit tired in places,& could do with a decorate, kitchen cupboard door was loose,& sometimes difficult to open,& we didn’t sleep well either, the mattresses were a bit lumpy,& sloped slightly,we get the fact that lots of other people have slept in them,as well, but maybe they need a topper to be more comfortable,.Didn’t spoil our stay, just would have liked to have slept better than we did.

  • "Great flat as you described, beautiful place in a beautiful setting however enable us to have an extremely relaxing enjoyable stay, however I do have two negatives."

1-During our stay we experienced cold high winds, the flat is an open living area with kitchen, dining and living area in the same space. The cold high winds caused a very strong draft to come through the extractor fan resulting in a very cold living space, boosting the heating was not sufficient enough to counteract the draft. 2-My wife and I work hard and save our money to enable us to take a holiday and get away from the stresses, strains and chores of everyday life. I received an email from you the day before our holiday was over directing that we remove all bedding, sheets, pillow cases duvet covers etc and place them in the bath. I did complete the tasks you asked (after getting grief from my wife) but I am not happy about this. Surely you employ a cleaner who comes in after guests leave to ensure the flat is clean and ready for the next guests, is that not why check out is at 10 and check in at 5? I do take a holiday expecting to do the job of a cleaner or anyone else.

Many thanks for taking the time to provide feedback it is appreciated. I was unaware of the issue with the extractor fan so will look at how to solve this. Regarding the beds and pillow cases again I thank you for raising this. It was bought in as best practice during the pandemic and we have never changed it back. You are the 1st person who has raised it but again I really appreciate the feedback and will discuss it with the cleaner. We are really pleased that you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Property Owner

Deer in the gardens and Dolphins and seals nearby. A chance to see the Northern lights if you are lucky. Could do with a four slice toaster as a two slice is not practical

Many thanks for your feedback Grenville I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay. It is an interesting point regarding the toaster which I will take on board when we look to replace it. We look forward to welcoming you back very soon. Property Owner

You can see the Moray Firth from every window. We enjoyed a relaxing holiday. We know Findhorn well as we holidayed there for many years when our children were young and it continues to be a special place for us.

Many thanks for your feedback we are delighted that you enjoyed your trip and love Findhorn like we do! Look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Property Owner

Aurora View,is a lovely place too stay,a real home from home with amazing views looking out to sea,the only thing that we didn’t like was not being able to control the heating ourselves, never stayed in a Sykes’s where you couldn’t control the heating yourself, but it didn’t put us off,had a fabulous time, visited so many places,Loch Ness was our favourite,& the Glen Moray distillery,& Inverness,so much more to see couldn’t fit everything in,the week just went way too quick,& we shall definitely be back next year :-)

Hi Tracey. Many thanks for your amazing feedback it is appreciated. Regarding the heating it is on a programme and should keep the property at 19 degrees all of the time. However it isn’t locked off so you are able to control the heating from the property in order to maintain a comfortable temperature. Additionally the electric fire is the lounge is completely independent of the heating system. I am so glad that it didn’t spoil your stay and when you are up again next year please do not hesitate to shout if you have any questions at all. Property Owner

  • "Beautiful accommodation with stunning panoramic views across the Moray Firth."

Easy access to beach and a good base for travelling around North East Scotland. Lovely and warm and cosy with good facilities. We couldn't locate the Bose Speaker mentioned in list of amenities and so contacted owner to let them know. Disappointingly we were disturbed by the residents above our accommodation who used a sound system that boomed a bass noise through the ceiling and we were unable to relax each evening. It was reported to the owner but sadly the noise continued. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others.

Many thanks for your feedback Janet and please accept our apologies for the noise from another apartment in the block. As you are aware I immediately contacted the neighboring apartment owners and I know that they spoke to the residents. This is not an issue that we have had before and I promise that I will get to the bottom of it as I am unsure what has happened here. I am pleased that you enjoyed both Findhorn and the apartment and hope that you will return at some point in the future. Property Owner

  • "Arora view is a second floor apartment in a block with fantastic views out to sea."

The little village is friendly boasting a shop and adjacent bakery which opens at 10 am each day.Findhorn is very well situated with Forres nearby where a climb up the Nelson monument is strongly advised. There is a Tesco and Lidl on the outskirts of Forres and an interesting eco village with community living on the way out of Findhorn. I had a conversation with the owner who was pleasant and helpful. The apparment has great views out of large picture windows and is well equiped. There is a lot of shipping movement in the sea which can be seen with ease. There are seals on the beach and deer came into the ground on at least 3 days of our stay. Would we return most definately. A graet stay in welcoming surroundings.

Just an electrical problem which was dealt with asap and windows needed cleaning. We thoroughly enjoyed the apartment, the view and the location….would recommend.

We really appreciate you taking the time to provide feedback. Apologies for the electrical problem and I am pleased that we managed to get it resolved quickly and without impacting your stay. As you can imagine the windows are an ongoing challenge given the fact that the apartment faces directly out onto the sea. However I have increased the cleaning from once every 6 weeks to once a month as a result of your comments as you are absolutely right that the view is stunning! We look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Property Owner

Every amenity within walking distance. Post office, shop, cafe and at least two hostelries serving foo and drink. The apartment is spacious and comfortable and has everything you need to enable a relaxing holiday. The views are indeed stunning and we were lucky enough to see dolphins playing in the waves.

  • "We were delighted with our stay at Aurora View."

It's a beautifully furnished, spacious, extremely well equipped and ideally placed apartment. The views are incredible, we never tired of gazing out at the beach/sea view. You can dolphin watch with binoculars from the full length front room window! It's the ideal base for travelling to the many nearby visitor attractions and destinations and you can walk for miles along the beautiful Findhorn beach which only takes a few minutes to reach on foot. There are places to eat/drink a little walk away where you can find the most delicious, local fish and chips. The standard of the facilities in the apartment is excellent and there are lots of little, thoughtful touches that make your stay that little bit more special, they really have thought of everything. We would highly recommend a stay here and are definitely planning a return trip.

Many thanks for taking the time to provide us with feedback it is appreciated. Our hope is that visitors grow to love Findhorn as much as we do. I am delighted that you enjoyed both the apartment & Findhorn. We look forward to welcoming you back in the near future. Property Owner

  • "A lovely flat with great views in a peaceful setting."

The flat is well equiped and had everything we needed for self catering, maybe a small brush & dustpan under the sink for cleaning up purposes, would be useful. Not sure if there is a window cleaner as two of the windows, including the main one in the lounge need a good clean. Would recommend and will definately be back.

Hi Angela, Many thanks for your feedback we really appreciate you taking the time to let us know how we can be better. Please accept our apologies regarding the windows. As you might imagine being so close to the sea the naughty seagulls do sometimes create problems with the windows. We will increase the regularly of the window cleaning and try to improve. Regarding the dustpan & brush we really appreciate the suggestion and there will be one there when you return! Thanks again. Property Owner

  • "Aurora View is a pleasant, comfortable, well-equipped flat, made spectacular by the circular living-dining area with 5 windows looking out over the Moray Firth."

The central window is floor-to-ceiling and always causes a gasp of delight on entering the room. We were blessed with fantastic sunny weather for all of our three-day visit, but I’m sure stormy weather would be equally spectacular. The flat was warm, welcoming and everything was easy to find and use. Access was straightforward and trouble-free, as were all facilities and instructions. A walk of a few minutes took us to the amazing, huge beach, to the harbour or village, and to the cafes, pubs and shop. We had good meals of local fresh fish in both pubs, but the fresh seafood in the Crown and Anchor was really special, (particularly the Shetland scallops). The combination of easy comfort and stunning views made this a really lovely holiday.

Findhorn was at one time a very busy fishing port, and still preserves its strong connections with the sea today, with much of its village life centred around the bay, and fantastic sailing and watersports opportunities available with the Royal Findhorn Yacht Club resting on the waterfront. Its scenic location and gentle climate, influence by the Gulf Stream, make it a desirable destination. It is perhaps best known for being the home to the world-famous Findhorn Foundation, with its Ecovillage and international centre for holistic education. Findhorn boast two pubs, two cafes, an organic bakery and a local store, and is well placed for visiting the many pretty ports and villages nestled along the Moray Firth coastline.
