  • "The house is perfect for a week in Findochty."

It's spacious, well equipped, clean, comfortable and warm. This is a proper house with room for everything. We spent quite a few afternoons in the conservatory chilling out after a dog walk. The pub next door is welcoming, especially if you have a dog! We had a chilled out week in a home from home and I would highly recommend it.

  • "What a great holiday cottage a lot bigger than we thought it would be and so clean."

The view from the cottage was beautiful, we sat outside on the bench looking at the fishing boats going in and out of the harbour and the children swimming and playing on the beach as the week was so hot. we watched the amazing sunsets from the beach around the corner and then to top it all a pod of dolphins came swimming by so gracefully. Findochty is amazing place for all lots of lovely walks, wild life and beaches around the area. The ice cream in Cullen is so yummy it’s a must, so is the Cullen skink. We can’t wait to go again.

About the location

Buckie 3 miles; Elgin 20 miles.

The delightful fishing village of Findochty, which dates back to the 1400s, sits on the edge of the natural harbour known as Crooked Haven. Nowadays, Findochty is used more by leisure sailors than fishermen, whilst the fishing boats have moved down the coast to Buckie. Findochty has a small sheltered beach at Long Head and a popular pub on the harbour front. Why not visit the delightful town of Cullen, situated beneath spectacular railway viaducts and renowned for its hearty smoked haddock and potato soup, or enjoy a spot of golf at either of the Cullen or Strathlene golf courses? Take a pleasant drive to the lively town of Elgin, home to an imposing cathedral, museums and the mesmerising Biblical Gardens. With the whole of the Moray Coast to explore, with its Whisky Trail, an abundance of historic houses and gardens, sparkling golden sands and hospitable inns, this is a superb base from which to enjoy the delightful north east coast of Scotland.
