  • "The photo shown on the site is just ugly, and doesn't reflect the quality of the place."

Don't get a bad impression from it ! The cottage itself is nice, ideally located, well furnished (it's the first holliday place where I found good, sharp cooking knives !). Ideal location : you can WALK to diverse shops in the city center, you can also take a walk in the neighbouring forest. The path along the Spey river is very pleasant. For amateurs there's also plenty of mushrooms around ! The local indian restaurant is great. It would take about a year to explore its menu on a daily basis... Let's come to human appreciation : the hosts are just lovely, helpful people, and I just regret not to have taken time to chat with them. But I understand that running (so efficiently) such a place must be time consuming and I definitely didn't want to bother them. Sorry if YOU wanted to chat with your guests, I apologize... So thank you, Daniel and Sarah ! We will definetely recommend you as an excellent place to stay in the speyside !

  • "A beautiful, well designed cottage - it looks good but it is also a very easy place to stay, very well thought out."

It was spotless, had a lovely shower, well equipped kitchen, the wifi worked and, even during a cold snap, was nice and warm. The home made bread and jam and welcome pack were delicious and a really lovely touch. The owners were very welcoming and we really enjoyed our stay at Butterfly Cottage. The location is a definite plus, we walked down to the woods and river when the weather was kind and we were able to walk to the High Street for evening meals.

Thank you thank you thank you We always try to give the best and we also believe that the guest should get the best possible service for their money from our side and we always try to do that. Thanks again for the great review. Daniel and Sarah Property Owner

There was everything you needed and more. Extremely clean and everything was top quality including the bedding and kitchen utilities. Two minutes from the centre of town. Very quiet location and I cannot wait to return.

  • "We had a lovely stay at Butterfly Cottage and the owners, after our initial meeting, were entirely absent during our stay ( although they were readily available if required)."

This is a very modern and beautifully appointed compact two person cottage. Ideal as a base for touring this brilliant area which overfows with activities and places of interest. Although centrally located in the small town of Grantown on Spey, the cottage sits next to the owners guest house in a quiet side street, 2 minutes walk from all the facilities one could wish for. We enjoyed a busy yet relaxing week in one of Scotland's most attractive and accessible tourist destinations, in first class accommodation.

Thank you very much for your review. It's great that you liked it so much, we put a lot of heart and soul into transforming the old garage into this beautiful cottage. It is important to note that the building was built in the early 1800's, it is older than many buildings in Grantown, so it was very important to us to keep the exterior as it was and the interior to a standard appropriate to our time. Thank you again for your review and booking in our cottage. Daniel and Sarah Property Owner
