  • "A very comfortable week in this cosy, spacious cottage for two."

The property is well equipped and has good wifi and lots of information on local walks and attractions. The owners, Jane and Ian, live next door and were very friendly. Nice welcome pack and endless entertainment on the multiple bird feeders. Would recommend as a good base for exploring Angus and Aberdeenshire.

  • "What an excellent cottage and lovely owners."

The cottage was very homely and had such thoughtful touches from the home owner throughout. We were greeted with lovely fresh berries and delicious shortbread and there was lovely fresh flowers in the cottage too. We loved the wood-burning stove and the very friendly horses at the back of the cottage were a lovely surprise too, especially for our toddler! The owners were so welcoming, friendly and accommodating, we can't fault a single thing! Can't wait to return!!

  • "Our hosts were extremely welcoming and the cottage itself was just lovely."

The cottage is a very short drive from Edzell which is a pleasant village with a hotel where we had a very nice meal and a couple of cafes and a gift shop. It's easy to get to Brechin which is worth a visit and there seems to be a variety of things to do in the area. The cottage really did have everything we could have wish for and was extremely cosy and comfortable even although the weather while we stayed was pretty dire. The view when the sun finally came out was lovely from the kitchen window and the bird life at the feeders outside the windows very entertaining. The kitchen in particular was very well equipped and the very large double bed was extremely comfortable. A lovely big bathroom was also very nice. Everything was great and we will happily return to this cottage again. We enjoyed our short break here immensely and would no doubt enjoy it even more in better weather.

  • "We have been holidaying in Scotland two or three times a year for the past 30 years and only one other place we have stayed has come anywhere near the standard of Rose Cottage."

Many places (as a for instance) will say that linen , towels and tea towels are provided, The guest arrives, having none of these things, and finds 1 tea towel and 1 hand towel. This has actually happened to us more than a few times-so now we always take a few things of this ilk and leave them in the car if not required. In Rose Cottage there were more of these items than you would ever need. Jane and Ian were more than helpful, without being intrusive, and we knew that they were there should we need any help. Jane had left lots of little extras for us - home made biscuits, fresh fruit and cream and flower arrangements in living and bedroom. This is a cottage we could recommend to anyone completely without reservation!

It was so well equipped and beautifully decorated and furnished. The hosts were so welcoming and helpful. We loved the garden, so well laid out and well kept. We particularly enjoyed watching the variety of birds at the bird feeders as well as the rabbits and horses in the field at the rear of the cottage. The whole place was so tranquil and relaxing, we slept so well in the comfortable bed. It is an ideal base to explore the surrounding area and we thoroughly recommend it. Thank you to Jane and Ian.
