We liked the mix of completeness in surrounding buildings.Very private courtyard with excellent fully working hot tub. Very comfortable beds. Good facilities incl wifi. The wood burner is good to get to know but not for anyone inexperienced. No bath but a large wet room.( Floor is therefore wet a lot of the time) Lots of interest inside and outside in fantastic countryside. The welcome basket left for us was very thoughtful and much appreciated. There was a lot of local information made available and we managed to see as much as possible. Free parking everywhere we visited. Fraserburgh Bay has a long sandy beech. Only a few people there on our visit Aug 2019. If the suns out you won't want to move.We had a cooler box. Explore the North coast taking in Jamie's suggested places to visit. Small town facilities at Turriff but for more choice there are two major stores in the very smart town of Huntly which is on same route as whisky tour at Glendronach at £10 each. Tours every hour. Yvonne was our very knowledgeable guide, worthwhile visit in pleasant surroundings with a dram to try at the end or to takeaway. On a rainy day Aberdeen has a choice of 3 cinemas with Vue only £5 each. Very good shopping malls with the usual full range of restaurants. Most expensive but as a birthday treat we pushed the boat out and went gliding at Deeside at £110 each for about 20 to 30 mins in flight at 3k ft. This was more of a first time adventure than simply sitting back and enjoying the view with a go at proper hands on control. Probably should have researched a bit more. Could be your first flight lesson. The pilots are incredibly skilled and a real joy to meet, we felt completely safe at all times. Theres a shorter trip to 2k ft at £90 and lasts 10 mins flight which may be better for first time. Great stuff. The cheapest days out would be the beech. The surprise was the Transport Museum at Alford £10 but has concession prices. Lots of face painting etc for the younger ones. Very popular site and could be difficult to park if the car park is full which it was. They have a track circuit to experience a ride in classic vehicles. Our trip was an immaculate Morris 1000 convertible. Very enjoyable family visit. Lots more but its a sample of our time at Milltown House. Many thanks Jamie we had a fantastic week and hope to be back again. Cheers Brian Co.Durham
