  • "The pictures do not do this place justice."

The cottage is beautifully presented and immaculate. We thought there was a small courtyard garden but it was actually a beautiful large walled garden with raised planters full of flowers and fruit. Completely enclosed with high walls so our dogs could run around to their hearts content without us worrying about them escaping. There are hens everywhere with lots of horses and loads of bird life. It’s an active equestrian centre with an arena and great cross country event courses set up which you can walk the dogs in the latter if not being used. This leads into a lovely woodland walk which was great for the dogs. We all had such a great time. So many lovely beaches and woodland walks nearby and great dolphin watching at Burghead. We had a wonderful week there, the owners were so friendly and helpful and we would happily return there again.

  • "Fantastic accommodation, comfortable, absolutely spotless, every thing we required was there."

The walled garden is beautiful, with the fruit trees and flowers and a safe environment for our 8 month old puppy. The walks in the woods on the property are also lovely with wildlife on your doorstep. The hosts are lovely and on arrival welcomed us, we appreciated the welcome pack, the bonus was the chickens, fresh eggs for breakfast. We will definitely be back to Muiryhall Steading.

We have since been compensated direct with the owner

The cottage itself was fabulous, very comfortable and had everything we could possibly need. It also had a beautiful secluded garden which we could sit out in. It definitely was home from home. The owner was extremely welcoming as were everyone we met there. There was lots to do in the area and the coast was stunning.

and had everything to meet our needs and was very comfortable. We loved the garden with a great variety of plants, the patio and the furniture with a barbecue and a patio heater if needed. We had some great weather which encouraged as to have breakfast alfresco on several mornings. The patio is indeed a sun trap. Thank you Susanna for being a good host and as we said to you before, we loved your big friendly ginger cat which has put us in the mood to get another cat! I would recommend the Steadings to anyone thinking of booking, it was just the tad for us.

  • "WOW is the only explanation."

The cottage was beautiful, the walled garden was fantastic for our dog to roam around in. The owner hasn't forgotten anything, and the little treats were a welcome surprise. The surrounding land is gorgeous to see each morning, and the small woods within the grounds was great for stretching the dogs legs off the lead, knowing he was still safe. I would 100% recommend this location.

  • "Muiryhall steading is a fantastic location for a holiday, especially with a dog."

The cottage is bright, spotlessly clean, with a number of high quality little extras, Suzanna has thought of everything. It is the perfect location for walks along with gorgeous Moray Coastline or walks in the forest, especially with having your own private wood on the doorstep. The chickens and horses are the perfect addition. Suzanna had extra special touches with eggs and homemade chutney and local produce to help settle you in. This is a special cottage and the walled garden made it safe and tranquil, we will definitely be returning. Thank you.

The welcome pack was a lovely touch. The walled garden was ideal for the dog as was the forest land that belonged to the owners. Ideal location to investigate that part of Scotland, some beautiful beaches and plenty of golf courses and whiskey trails.

Excellent location and really looked after well with a friendly welcoming host. There were some really nice welcoming touches like the eggs and other food left out on arrival, small things but they do get noticed in a positive way. The walled garden was quite stunning too. Could not have been happier.

Well equipped to meet all our needs and the welcome from the host Suzanna was very friendly. The scenery and amenities were a delight. We went on holiday at this time of year wanting some time to relax and unwind after a few busy months in our careers dealing with Covid-19, and this rental certainly didn’t fail us in its provision. We have two large Labrador dogs and they loved the surrounding woods that they could be let loose to explore through... Suzanna even made some provision for the pets, treats on their arrival was a lovely gesture. Overall, we had a great time and would recommend this rental to anyone looking for a home from home...

The forest on the door step was a lovely morning walk, the area avoids most of the worst weather from the south due to the expanse of hills and mountains. While there was snow storms an hour or so away we only had some light showers, this was perfect for a day trip to the cairngorms to play in the snow. Absolutely loved it and already looking to book again for next year

!! We can’t recommend this cottage too highly. Everything was catered for, you didn’t need to ask for anything. Everything was top quality. Suzanna has done a wonderful job of making Steadings into a real home from home. From the great welcome pack, which included fresh eggs from Suzanna’s own chickens to the wonderful welcome from Suzanna herself you feel at home from the moment you arrive.

Cottage is a recent conversion so everything is clean and modern. Miltonduff is only a few minutes from Elgin a large town with every convenience but the hamlet of Miltonduff is very rural,a few houses, fields of animals and of course in this part of Scotland a distillery. People who own this cottage live on site which is a farm and are very friendly as are the forty free range chickens roaming around,no shortage of free range eggs. All in all a brilliant holiday.

  • "Many many thanks to Susanna for letting us stay in this beautiful little home where all sorts of welcome goodies were awaiting us and the dogs."

It surely is the best holiday cottage we’ve stayed in so far. Everything is delightful, modern, spotless and comfortable. Susanna has thought of absolutely everything to make the cottage a home. Our little dogs enjoyed the freedom of the secure, secluded walled garden and the wonderful April weather allowed us to have breakfast on the sun drenched patio. We all loved wandering for a morning walk in the owners’ woods and seeing the horses, dogs, cat and the many chickens who gave us some delicious fresh eggs. Muiryhall steading is only 3 miles away from Elgin where there are many shops but for us the beauty of the location is the easy access to the coast or to the hills for wonderful long walks in peaceful surroundings and clean air. You don’t have to drive many miles to find some wonderful scenery. We’ve had a great relaxing week and we were sad to leave to go back to the metropolis!

  • "Muiryhall was absolutely wonderful."

Everything was even better than the pictures and the description. Suzanna was a fantastic host and left the house furnished with more than you could ever need or hope for, like slippers for getting out to the hot tub. There was a Tassimo coffee machine stocked with Costa pods which was a lovely surprise, and bread and milk in the fridge when we arrived. We came away looking for privacy and the property was even more private than we thought from the pics. The hot tub, as well as having a trellis fence around it, is in a private walled garden. At night you can see the stars from the tub which is lovely. The property was easy enough to keep warm, with powerful electric heating throughout, the bathroom was great. We had one problem with the WiFi but got it sorted on Day 1. We like to take walks, and there was a book of local walks in there which was super easy to follow and an ideal length for us (1 - 2 hours). A lot of them can be easily extended. Recommend the coastal path from Cullen to Portknockie with a view of Bow Fiddle Rock, which comes back across the viaduct, and the Windings Walks in the forest park near Fochabers. Seriously, big props to the hosts for running such a fabulous cottage. We have been to a number of different holiday cottages and this is probably the best overall considering price, location, and offering. Thank you for having us!!
