The property

This stone, semi-detached cottage is quietly situated at the end of a lane in the fishing village of Portessie.

Boasting open sea to the rear, this cottage is a great holiday base for those keen to explore this wonderful, unspoilt part of Scotland.

The cottage has generously proportioned accommodation and is ideal for a family or group of friends who want to enjoy a holiday together.

The bedrooms, two doubles and one twin are all on the upper floor, along with a bathroom with corner bath.

The large and well-equipped kitchen really has the wow factor with its central island breakfast bar and doors allowing access through to a stunning sun room that provides both dining and sitting space for guests.

From the sun room the full vista of the coast can really be appreciated and double doors lead out onto a patio area and decked terrace, a perfect spot for a summer evening BBQ or simply a quiet pre-dinner drink.

Just across the hall is the cosy sitting room with comfortable corner sofa where you can relax and watch a film together.

Very close to the cottage is a path that takes you all the way along the Moray Firth coast into the village of Cullen with its incredible golden sandy beach, a very pleasant journey of some 5 miles.

Portessie is a small fishing village lying to the east of Buckie on the north east coast and is one of many similar villages that stretch along the shores of the Moray Firth.

The area is a haven for wildlife and dolphins, seals, otters and much more can all be easily spotted whilst out enjoying the countryside.

After a busy day, return to the comfort of this holiday home and relax whilst soaking up the lovely views from your armchair.

About the location

PORTESSIE

Buckie 1 mile; Cullen 5 miles; Elgin 18 miles.

Situated on the Moray Firth coast, Portessie is one of a number of old fishing villages that lie on a three-mile stretch of shoreline to the east of Buckie on Scotland's 'sunniest north east coast'. It's an unspoiled coastline, with dramatic cliff scenery, beautiful beaches and picturesque villages such as Gardenstown and Pennan. Families will love the extensive beach at Cullen and enjoy local opportunities to ride, golf and watch rare birdlife - the RSPB Reserve at Spey Bay is a must for keen birdwatchers. The Moray Firth has one of only two resident populations of Bottle-nosed dolphins in Britain and regular boat trips leave from Buckie and Macduff harbours on dolphin-watching expeditions. A wonderful base for a magical holiday experience.
