  • "Interesting spacious house in a quiet secluded location."

Spotlessly clean, comfortable and exceptionally well equipped by an owner who wants to ensure that you have the most wonderful holiday at Na Clamhanan which we most certainly did! Handy for bird watching trips to the coast or down to Cairngorm, or for cycle rides along quiet lanes or in Culbin Forest. We won’t hesitate to return.

It is in a great location which is private and very peaceful and quiet. Communication with Emma and Dave was very good, both before and after arrival, indeed they were quick to respond to a couple of minor queries we had. We would highly recommend and would stay again if in the area.

  • "We had wonderful three weeks in Na Clamhanan."

The house is realy perfect. Lots of space, lots of light and so well equiped. Everything was sparkling-clean when we arrived and after the mid-term cleaning as well. The layout is realy well thought-out. We loved to be able to sit outside at any time of the day because of the surrounding decking! The large kitchen area was perfect even for our extended cooking sessions and we slept so well in the comfortable bed. The only little thing we missed (and this is absolutely "whinning on a high level") is a view to the surrounding hillsides. But on the other hand one is nicely sheltered against wind in the "lowered" garden, so, another benefit there... The host was wonderful as well. Even before we arrived she had tons of information about the area, places to see, places to shop etc.. She even arranged for a traveling fish monger to come up to the house, because we couldn't find a place to buy fresh fish in the vicinity.

  • "Really struggling to give this accommodation anything but top marks throughout!"

A very eco friendly and welcoming hand built wooden villa sitting on a plateau with 360 degree views of the surrounding countryside. The first floor lounge and bedroom both have spacious balconies with seating, the downstairs bedroom also has decking directly outside and accessible from the bedroom; the open plan living/dining/kitchen downstairs also has wrap around deck with wooden furniture, a hammock and barbecue. Furniture throughout is of a very high standard. Sofas really comfortable, beds that make sleeping very easy - either firm or softer, you decide. Bed linen and towels provided were also of really good quality. Downstairs wet floor shower room; further bathroom upstairs with shower over bath. Emma (host) was excellent and answered any questions that you may have - nothing was an issue. House is about 10-15 minutes drive from the nearest town of Forres with a couple of large supermarkets and other high street shops. Definitely no shopping or eating establishments within easy walking distance from the house. That was definitely a massive plus point for us as we were trying to get as far away as possible from recognised mass civilisation. Will most definitely return in the future as the location in that stretch of the Moray Firth is ideal. Well done in creating an excellent holiday destination in an idyllic setting.

  • "Great house in a peaceful location."

It was snowy and icy when we arrived and the car couldn't make it up the track despite thorough gritting from the owner. It was only a very short walk to the house from the road, however. This might be an issue for people with mobility issues in icy weather. Otherwise absolutely perfect.

  • "A fantastic house."

Really well situated in the landscape. It is tastefully furnished, with good quality beds and mattresses. The sofas, cookware, coffee machine and everything are of good quality. And the whole area up there is fantastic. We particularly like Roseisle Country Park and Culbin Forest. We will definitely come back.
