    “Beautiful sea cottage”

The cottage is beautifully decorated throughout, very clean and the views are a dream. We were really impressed with the decor. The kitchen is spacious and bright. The shortbread, coffee, tea and fresh milk in the fridge were much appreciated on arrival. The bedrooms and lounge are all comfortable, I slept really well which is not always a given when not in your own home. The bathroom has a nice long bath (great for tall people). Again lovely, bright and clean. Although the weather wasn't really ...

Although the weather wasn't really on our side some of the time, the cottage is so nice that we really enjoyed ourselves. I even enjoyed doing the dishes with this view on the lighthouse and we all appreciated being able to look at the waves ( and hear them but great double glazing there) from the dining area. Our children enjoyed playing boardgames in the lounge. I enjoyed all the wee decorative touches, the cottage is so homely! We all loved it, the cottage, the surroundings and the area. Even the teen had a smile on her face! Big thumbs up from us.

The property

Seaspray Cottage is a cosy and well-equipped fisherman's cottage ideally located right beside the sea in the friendly village of Whitehills, on the stunning Moray Firth coastline of Scotland.

Well appointed throughout, this Whitehills cottage offers spectacular sea views, being just yards from the shoreline, and is ideal for a family or group of friends who appreciate the fabulous location of their Moray Firth holiday home and its easy access to excellent local facilities.

The ground floor accommodation at your cottage in Whitehills is set over two levels and includes a double bedroom.

On the first floor are a further two traditional bedrooms, both of which have sloping ceilings.

The sitting room in this Whitehills cottage retains the original wood-lined walls and benefits from a warming woodburning stove to ensure cosy nights in are guaranteed.

A couple of steps down leads into a lovely, bright fitted kitchen with a smart dining area from where guests can appreciate the uninterrupted sea views whilst enjoying a meal together.

At the rear of this Moray Firth cottage, there is a neat paved patio area complete with furniture - a wonderful place to relax and watch the waves roll in.

The friendly village of Whitehills was built up around its harbour, which was once a thriving fishing port, but is now a successful yacht marina.

You could visit Downies just a short walk away, a local family-run fishmonger, and treat yourself to the catch of the day or perhaps try their wonderful Cullen skink pies, a real local delicacy, which come highly recommended.

For visitors seeking wildlife, this comes in abundance here with seals, dolphins, whales and a wide variety of seabirds all easy to spot.

Children will particularly enjoy the Whitehills playpark which has spectacular views over the Moray Firth, and boasts a wide range of play equipment including a trim trail for keen parents.

This charming Whitehills cottage is in a superb location and can be enjoyed all year round.

About the location

WHITEHILLS

Banff 3 miles; Portsoy 5 miles.

The village boasts a friendly local pub serving good food and a highly-regarded restaurant at the marina, as well as a grocer’s and a fish shop. The modern marina in the village is a busy destination for boats, especially yachts and pleasure crafts. Conveniently placed just three miles from Banff and five miles from Portsoy, this location has much to offer visitors who will enjoy following the rugged coastline that borders the shores of the Moray Firth, and away from the coast, the area is a mixture of rich farmlands and small hamlets surrounded by luscious green fields - a wonderful base for exploring this part of Scotland.
