  • "The property is as advertised - beach is only 3mins walk."

Well equipped kitchen, good sized lounge. Great base to explore Norfolk. The property compact and the bedrooms are small. There is plenty of storage for clothes etc in the hall way

  • "Although the lodge was as advertised we were very disappointed to find that the larger bedroom smelt appallingly, so much so couldn’t use it on the first night."

On contacting the owner first thing the next morning, he very promptly attended and that day shampooed the carpet which appeared to be the source of the issue. However although it reduced the smell slightly it was still there. It was fortunate that the weather was good and we could leave the window wide open night and day to enable the room to be used. Luckily one of us could manage to use the room but it was very far from satisfactory. The sitting room had a very comfortable L shaped settee but when I dropped a table mat and bent to retrieve, the amount of sand, dirt, and I presume animal hair, under it was disgusting. I appreciate the unit was extremely heavy but do feel that perhaps once a month minimum it could moved and cleaned under. I was reluctant to do this myself due to my age and worried about the damage the sand could do to the wood effect floor that could be trapped by the settees feet.

I'm sorry to hear you were unhappy with some aspects of your stay at Paston lodge. As soon as you raised the issue regarding a smell on a carpet, I attended the property straight away and although I couldn't smell anything I did fully vax the carpet for you. However, on entering the property I was surprised to see that you had your budgie in a cage in the living room, without any prior arrangement. Constructive feedback is always welcome and I will always strive to make improvements and take the highest standards of care so I can to provide an excellent holiday for my guests. Property Owner

The lodge was beautifully clean with a very welcome welcome pack. Very comfy sofa, easy to use washing machine and dishwater, and good controllable shower.

  • "Nice ,comfortable and well equipped property."

Ideal location, beach near but no sea view ,unless you stand on a bench! (this did not spoil our stay). Location 20 minutes from North of Broads and on the coast road ,so best of both options.

  • "Beach nice and close, and dog friendly (some parts of the beach running from here don't allow dogs certain times of the year)."

Cottage 'quirky' and with no internal doors for kitchen and lounge the noise, and dog, were not contained! Water heating system very noisy, so no hot tap water was used before everyone was awake! Things you can work around, but not ideal for our family!

Had 4 lovely nights here, very clean and well equipped, the enclosed garden was brilliant a nice sun trap too, excellent field next door which was brilliant for the dog in the morning, and easy access to the beautiful beech, lovely walk along the top of the beech as your limited to a certain part of the beech to walk with your dog, luckily the part off the field is fine with the dog, we had fish and chips from the local chip shop which were nice check the opening times though as limited easy access to other places too

  • "This was a last minute booking so we were unsure what to expect."

When we arrived on the Saturday afternoon we were so pleased with the cottage we had booked. It was lovely and clean and the decor was very seaside themed which was perfect. The bedding was spotless and the bathroom facilities were excellent and very clean. The lounge area was very comfortable and perfect for our family weekend. All of the beds were very comfortable and there was even space to eat our meals at a table. The kitchen had everything we needed and even included a dishwasher and washing machine. There was a cute garden with plenty of space to sit outside if the weather had been warmer. We were very impressed with our accommodation which made our weekend break perfect. The location was also excellent as we were walking distance to the beach so went for nice long walks along the flat sandy beach in the evening. There were also places to grab a take away very close by and I'm sure once the lockdown rules ease further other guests would benefit from being able to eat inside the restaurants nearby.
