  • "Very clean, owners on hand if you need as they live just opposite and lovely pub across the green."

Also only 20-30 mins drive from lovely beach. Beds upstairs were not comfortable at all (my husband, daughter and myself all came back with back pain) and the house didn't quite reach target room temp the whole time (I am not comfortable using fireplace) so was very cold for elderly mother and small children - would not have been an issue in warmer weather. Overall good gor short stay but be warned if you have existing back problems.

It was our first time away with my newly disabled father. The house is wonderful and accessible. The downstairs bedroom and wet room were perfect for a disabled person's needs. The house was warm, comfortable and immaculately clean. Everything had been thought of. We had such a lovely week and will 100% return to this house.

It was very nice to meet you. Mill Farm was perfect for our short visit with mum (needing downstairs bedroom and bathroom access), plus two couples upstairs. Very spacious, all the facilities we needed in the kitchen, with a lovely secluded garden with table and chairs to have breakfast, and star gazing in the evening. Perfect.

  • "Beautiful, peaceful location and lovely hosts."

Diana and Alan have provided everything needed for a restful week, and the accommodation is perfectly equipped. There were six adults and one three year old in our group and we spent most of the time, when at the accommodation, sitting outside in the small garden, which is also perfect for our little granddaughter, since it is secure and safe. The rooms were spotless and the beds very comfortable. We felt welcomed and almost part of the family, with Diana offering us produce from their lovely garden, and Alan offering his tractor for us on which to take photos of our granddaughter! The location is exactly what we had in mind, with the simplicity of a countryside hamlet and a cricket green across the track - plus a great pub visible across the green. About three minutes walk to the pub, and around 10 minutes crawl back later. Highly recommended. Thank you Diana and Alan for a brilliant week, and for your kindness and warm hospitality.

Friendly owners and family. It was great to find a place to accommodate my disabled Mum, Dad, Brother and my family of four. Excellent bathrooms and fantastic kitchen (including some milk, tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits to welcome us after our long journey there). There was even dishwasher tablets too. Fresh flowers on the kitchen table. Beautiful private patio area to chill and relax. We would definitely go back.

Ideal location in easy reach of many lovely places to visit. Beds were not as comfortable as they might have been. But, we loved the layout of the cottage and it was lovely to have 3 toilets, 3 showers and a bath! We would definitely stay there again.

  • "Very well positioned accommodation in a beautiful little village."

The owners were welcoming and helpful in pointing out places to go. The accommodation was spacious and comfortable and the enclosed garden area was great for the little ones to play in. Our only small concern is the use of carpet throughout the accommodation . This was not a problem during our weeks stay as the weather was tremendous, but for wheelchairs or scooters in wet weather it would be difficult to stop the wheels trailing water or mud on to the carpets.

There is a small enclosed garden which was useful for meals outside, drying clothes and playing. Down the short drive was a mown green space ideal for cricket, football, rounders etc. Close by is common land which is ideal for dog walking, spotting wildlife (barn owls) etc. The quiet country lanes are good for a family cycle ride - but do avoid 'A' and 'B' roads. Wells-Next-The-Sea and Holkham Hall Country Park are a half-hour drive. We found most people happy and able to comply with social distancing requirements.

The property

Mill Farm Barn is a detached cottage set over two floors and is furnished in a more traditional cottage style than its neighbour with wooden beams and doors.

The ground floor is wheelchair friendly with a double bedroom with an en-suite wet room leading off the sitting room.

Sit back and relax in front of the warming woodburning stove set in an inglenook fireplace, or chill out with a glass of something refreshing in the private garden.

A delightful Norfolk cottage, well located for touring the area, all year round.

Note: This cottage is next to Ref. 25325, together they sleep 13.

Mill Farm Cottages

These two detached cottages are located on a non-working farm in the pretty North Norfolk village of Brisley. Both of these Brisley cottages have been beautifully furnished and have full wheelchair access (on ground floor only at Mill Farm Barn) and each have a bedroom with an en-suite wet room with grab rails and shower seats. Situated next to each other but with totally separate facilities, these two Brisley cottages are ideal for a family holiday or for a group of friends looking to discover this beautiful part of Norfolk. Each of these cottages in Brisley has a selection of bedrooms making for flexibility with the sleeping arrangements and one of them even has a superb hot tub in the garden, where you can relax after a long day exploring the area. Brisley is a peaceful village and these two cottages are set next to the village green and the cricket pitch. The village is just a short drive to the market towns of Dereham, Fakenham and Holt. Just a half hour drive from these Brisley cottages are the pretty harbour villages of Wells, Holkham and Blakeney, where you can walk on the beach, have lunch in one of the many cafes or restaurants, or maybe even take a boat trip to see the seals. For a more traditional seaside day out, the resort towns of Sheringham and Cromer are easily accessible, as are the NT properties of Blickling and Felbrigg Hall or you could even pop up to Sandringham and spend a day exploring the estate. Two excellent Brisley cottages available all year round in a wonderful rural location.
