  • "Jo’s Place is an ideal location for a visit to North Norfolk."

We were warmly welcomed by our host and found the cottage ideal for our needs. The cottage was very comfortable for two people and the fact it accepts dogs is a great bonus. There are plenty of walks locally which is ideal if, like us, you have a dog with you. Having the Explorers Bar next door means no need to drive to a distant pub for food and drink, although food is not served every day. We would be very happy to return at a future date.

  • "Nice welcome from the hosts, who remembered our dog from a previous visit."

Good location attached to the dog friendly pub and not too far to the coast. Comfy bed and settee, good kitchen facilities.

  • "Compact cottage ideal for 2 people."

The bed was very comfortable but the quilt provided was thin and barely covered the bed. Everything was provided inn the kitchen with a wide range of utensils. The wet room was difficult to dry after a shower, the mats had to be moved before having a shower, would have been helpful to have a drying mop. The pub was very quiet, food was only available on Tuesday and Saturday, and closed between 8 and 9 every evening.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback, we do value this. During the winter months the pub does operate reduced opening times, as do the majority in the area, as this is a quiet time, however, if we do have customers in we do remain open to our usual hours. Food is still available Tuesday to Saturday during this time. Other points raised will be addressed. We hope you enjoyed your visit to Norfolk. Regards, Gill Property Owner

  • "Cottage is very nice."

Only downside is the shower wet room is exactly that, once you have a shower the whole floor of the room is very wet, the area around the toilet especially stays wet for a long time as the water does not all drain away down the drain. In addition what is described to be a step down into the property is in fact a very steep short ramp which would be difficult for some people.

The added advantage of the pub next door also owned by our hosts Gill and Ian. Really dog friendly and great food. We found a couple of fields to walk our pup. Dont be put of being near a pub, we were never disturbed by people leaving late at night, in fact the locals are so friendly took time to talk to us about our stay. Our hosts met us on arrival and showed and explained all about the cottage in a covid secure way. The cottage is conveniently situated next to the Explorer's Bar at the time of our holiday we could only enjoy a drink outside. The locals in the village made us very welcome at all times, there are two very well stocked shops in the village one making excellent bread, cakes and pies. The cottage made an excellent base to explore North Norfolk. Alfie our dog loved the beaches and the many walks around the National Trust properties as we did too. We had a lovely relaxing week away which we would recommend to all.

Cannot be called a garden area in any way! You actually overlook gravel car park of the pub. had to take the dog for a walk every time she needed to go, nowhere near for a dogs immediate needs. Friday night was extremely noisy and from the bedroom the noise stopped me from sleeping. However Gill and Ian were lovely. They went out of their way to ensure your comfort. Being partially disabled i had problems with the wet room. Gill immediately went and bought a bathroom stool for me to sit on. Very good good in the pub at very reasonable price. Being dog lovers they were brilliant with ours, doggy biscuits served at the bar.
