  • "Fantastic cottage - just as described with lots of thoughtful touches - spare light bulbs, batteries, kitchen foil, etc."

Both beds were extremely comfortable, kitchen was very well equipped. Excellent location for walking and cycling from the front door to Snettisham and further afield. A visit (or 2) to Titchwell RSBP reserve won’t disappoint. Lovely cottage in friendly village in fabulous Norfolk. Thank you

Thank you for taking the time to publish your feedback, we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay at the cottage and we look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Property Owner

  • "We had a wonderful holiday in this well appointed cottage."

We were provided with all the basic household necessities and extras which we had not expected. Prior to arrival we had been a little concerned about parking, but the street is very quiet and we were able to park directly outside the cottage. Lovely garden if it had been warmer. A couple of occasional tables would have made things a little easier when relaxing in the lounge area and extractor fans in the kitchen and bathroom would have made things perfect for us, but these are small quibbles and overall we were extremely comfortable and felt at home. The property owner sent us a welcome text and all necessary information was provided in the cottage. A perfect base to explore a lovely area.

Thank you for your feedback, it is much appreciated, we will take on board the suggestion of extractor fans in the kitchen & bathroom which although hadn't been an issue is a great idea. Thank you for leaving the cottage clean and tidy. Best wishes, The owner of Curlew Cottage Property Owner

  • "The description of Curlew Cottage makes it clear that there are steep stairs but does not mention the low door heights to the bedrooms and the low beam in the lounge."

There are signs above each one warning people to duck but I think this should be included in the property description. The road is narrow and busy, used as an access route from the nearby housing estate. There is no off-street parking. There are far more positives than negatives about Curlew Cottage. All of the property has high quality fitments and furniture. The property is in excellent order and really comfortable to stay in. It is clear that the owners have gone out of their way to ensure that people have a good experience staying at the property.

We had a lovely break in curlew cottage , would definitely visit again very clean and comfortable, and plenty of things to do in the area

  • "Anyone with mobility issues would find the steep staircase difficult."

The second bedroom with double bed is very cramped and has no storage space. We, although elderly, are active and managed the stairs and being just a couple were fine. Oherwise the cottage is very comfortable and has a very pleasant garden.

About the location

SNETTISHAM

Heacham 3 miles; Royal Sandringham 4 miles; Hunstanton 5 miles.

Snettisham is a traditional Norfolk village, with many of its houses built from the local iron-rich carr stone, which has an attractive golden-brown colouring. Due to this, the buildings are known locally as “gingerbread houses”. Village amenities include general stores, a Post Office, 2 inns, a bistro and a regular bus service to the bustling, family-friendly seaside resort of Hunstanton and historic King’s Lynn. The church of St Mary sits alone on top of the hill and is certainly worthy of a look inside at the exquisitely decorated tracery flowers on the west window. There is an RSPB bird sanctuary close to the beach, which is three miles away, and the ancient Peddars Way public footpath runs near to the village. Park Farm is on the edge of the village, and is a working farm with year-round activities for all the family, including a 45-minute “deer safari” and the chance to feed some of the animals. The Royal Estate of Sandringham, whose impressive house, gardens and church are open to the public, is nearby, as are the plant farm, tea rooms and gift shop at Norfolk Lavender, England's premier lavender farm.
