  • "Lovely spotlessly clean and well equipped cosy holiday cottage."

Perfect location close to amenities, ease of access to local bus with good service to Kings Lynn and Hunstanton.

  • "A beautiful little cottage with a huge back garden."

The beds were large and comfortable, the kitchen well-equipped, the shower was excellent. It is close to several pubs, a Coop and the excellent Old Store bakery and cafe. We went for the birding and were blown away. 81 species in one weekend, travelling no further than Cley. I also cycled and that was great too. There was no washing machine. A small matter, but I usually take limited clothing, expecting I’ll some midweek.

Thank you for your lovely comments, we're delighted you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

It will be better for guests if they have to go to the toilet during the night and not waking up every body else.

We appreciate your feedback, your recommendation will be seriously considered. We work hard to try and accommodate everyone's needs but of course its not always possible. Many thanks :) Property Owner

Nice garden but some more comfortable chairs to sit out on would make it even better. Lovely area and lots of quaint villages and nice walks close by. The owner was very helpful and keen to please. We enjoyed our stay in the village and enjoyed eating in the Rose and Crown and Queen Victoria.

  • "Lovely property in a lovely village with everything close at hand."

The courage was immaculate with everything that you could want for a break. Two good sized bedrooms with large comfortable beds and a well equipped kitchen with all the utensils you’d need. There wasn’t a washing machine as it had been replaced with a dishwasher which we personally didn’t use but unless you’re there for more than a week you probably wouldn’t need. The wi-if was good and whilst there wasn’t any Sky TV there was an option for Netflix which we could sign into and out of easily. Actually we didn’t really use the TV much as we were either out or sitting in the large and beautiful garden as the weather was excellent for our stay. There are lots of beaches close by to visit and though we didn’t use it, a good bus service in case you want to wander further afield without using the car or save the cost of parking which can be difficult at busy times. All in all we had a great holiday in Curlew Cottage and would definitely recommend it as a home from home.

  • "Nicely situated in a village with two pubs and a convenient Co-op store within a few footsteps."

Cottage is very cosy and has lovely garden. Very clean and all that was necessary was supplied and in good working order. WiFi very good. The gift of Prosecco, chocolate and fudge from owners was a nice touch. One or two things to be aware of however. The only bathroom is downstairs and, although large and pleasant, has no tub: only a shower. The second bedroom is pretty small although a double. Thirdly there is no washing machine. Lastly (and fairly minor) the carving knives need sharpening!

Thank you for your feedback, we will ensure the knives are sharpened for the next guests, unfortunately we do not have room for both a dishwasher and a washing machine so we opted for the former due to health and cleanliness reasons, should you have needed to wash clothes during your stay we could have arranged a laundry service for you. The absence of a bath is in the description of the cottage and has never been an issue. We always appreciate feedback and hope you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

The location in Snettisham village worked very well for us. Proximity to three good places to eat, of which we tried 2, was perfect. The cottage was very comfortable and maintained to a high standard. The booking process and contact with the owner prior to arrival all worked very well.

  • "A very well located cottage, both, within Snettisham, for its facilities, i."

    E. Pubs/meals, supermarket etc, and as a base to explore ( in our case, birdwatching). The cottage is very clean, and well kitted out, although i put the omission of a vacuum cleaner down to covid awareness. The steep stairs are not as bad as some reviews state, in fact no issue with them, ( i'm 62 yrs old). As for the doors, then duck ! The parking was not kind to us, and the nearest we got was 30yds away, and one day about 100yds ! But this is out of the owners control, and no major problem. All in all, a very pleasant experience, and the weather was very kind, ( cold, frosty and bright sunshine), for mid January. Hopefully, we will be back?

  • "We had a wonderful holiday in this well appointed cottage."

We were provided with all the basic household necessities and extras which we had not expected. Prior to arrival we had been a little concerned about parking, but the street is very quiet and we were able to park directly outside the cottage. Lovely garden if it had been warmer. A couple of occasional tables would have made things a little easier when relaxing in the lounge area and extractor fans in the kitchen and bathroom would have made things perfect for us, but these are small quibbles and overall we were extremely comfortable and felt at home. The property owner sent us a welcome text and all necessary information was provided in the cottage. A perfect base to explore a lovely area.

Thank you for your feedback, it is much appreciated, we will take on board the suggestion of extractor fans in the kitchen & bathroom which although hadn't been an issue is a great idea. Thank you for leaving the cottage clean and tidy. Best wishes, The owner of Curlew Cottage Property Owner

  • "The description of Curlew Cottage makes it clear that there are steep stairs but does not mention the low door heights to the bedrooms and the low beam in the lounge."

There are signs above each one warning people to duck but I think this should be included in the property description. The road is narrow and busy, used as an access route from the nearby housing estate. There is no off-street parking. There are far more positives than negatives about Curlew Cottage. All of the property has high quality fitments and furniture. The property is in excellent order and really comfortable to stay in. It is clear that the owners have gone out of their way to ensure that people have a good experience staying at the property.

The second bedroom with double bed is very cramped and has no storage space. We, although elderly, are active and managed the stairs and being just a couple were fine. Oherwise the cottage is very comfortable and has a very pleasant garden.

About the location

SNETTISHAM

Heacham 3 miles; Royal Sandringham 4 miles; Hunstanton 5 miles.

Snettisham is a traditional Norfolk village, with many of its houses built from the local iron-rich carr stone, which has an attractive golden-brown colouring. Due to this, the buildings are known locally as “gingerbread houses”. Village amenities include general stores, a Post Office, 2 inns, a bistro and a regular bus service to the bustling, family-friendly seaside resort of Hunstanton and historic King’s Lynn. The church of St Mary sits alone on top of the hill and is certainly worthy of a look inside at the exquisitely decorated tracery flowers on the west window. There is an RSPB bird sanctuary close to the beach, which is three miles away, and the ancient Peddars Way public footpath runs near to the village. Park Farm is on the edge of the village, and is a working farm with year-round activities for all the family, including a 45-minute “deer safari” and the chance to feed some of the animals. The Royal Estate of Sandringham, whose impressive house, gardens and church are open to the public, is nearby, as are the plant farm, tea rooms and gift shop at Norfolk Lavender, England's premier lavender farm.
