  • "This cottage is perfectly located to really explore the surrounding areas!"

Lovely village pubs serving great food, good dog walks and shop nearby - all a short walking distance. Cottage was cosy and comfortable.

  • "Just the right amount of space for two adults and two young children who can share a room."

Location is brilliant: play park over the road, two good pubs and local co op within 5 mins walking distance plus a fun farm park up the road! If you have young children you’ll appreciate that the Rose and Crown has a good play area in their garden! You can drive to beautiful beaches in 10 - 20 minutes so bring your buckets and spades :-) Cottage is clean and has everything you need. Bathroom is downstairs and only has a shower so bear that in mind if it’s the sort of thing that bothers you. Wood burning stove very appreciated given the unseasonal April weather. A lovely short break away !

  • "Lovely cottage, scrupulously clean, nicely equipped."

Melanie was welcoming by text and kind enough to thank me for leaving the cottage clean at the end of my week. Excellent location for exploring the wildlife reserves locally, good to be able to walk to Snettisham Reserve and Sandringham, leave the car behind. As an environmentalist, my only gripe was the plastic grass, it's micro plastics waiting to happen. But I really enjoyed my stay, thank you.

The owner, Melanie was so helpful and very much on hand for any queries that we had. The cottage is in a lovely peaceful location with a great outlook towards the church and nice and close to the centre of this pretty village with it's great pubs, you must go to The Rose and Crown!

  • "This is a little gem of a cottage."

Sited on a very quiet lane on the edge of a very quiet village it really is a get away from it all place. There is absolutely no noise to be heard - unless the cricket club have got a match over the way on their ground! The cottage is small but was great for just the two of us and our pooch. Everything has been thought out. No dishwasher means you can idly look across to the fields and see the horses while doing the washing up, a downstairs bathroom means no climbing the stairs during the day for the loo! The bed was comfy, bed linen was good quality, shower worked well - can you tell we loved this little place? The only downside for us was the “detached “ garden, it needs to have some of the loving care that has been lavished inside Herbies. There is a small sitting area right outside the back door and it was nice to chat with the friendly neighbours and get tips of where to go, and it gets the sun for most of the day. We were lucky to be there for the heatwave so enjoyed exploring all of the beaches nearby and came home with suntans to rival European holidays after just a week away. We loved Herbies and hope to return, maybe in the winter months when we can enjoy the log burner.

  • "The cottage was lovely in a great location."

Comfortable bed with a cosy feather and down duvet which was perfect. The owner left us milk and some delicious cupcakes and the cottage was very well equipped. I could see no mention in the description of the steep narrow staircase with a sharp turn at the bottom which made it difficult for us mid-70s holidaymakers to manoeuvre the case round and there is no upstairs bathroom/toilet. That combination wasn’t ideal and should be made clear by Sykes in the description for the older holidaymaker to bear in mind. Having said all of that, Herbies is a lovely cottage to stay in and was extremely clean and homely. The owner was very helpful and friendly although we communicated only by message. She messaged to check everything was ok and we had a brief conversation. We would definitely recommend staying at Herbies to enjoy the fabulous Norfolk coast.

  • "Pretty, comfortable cottage in a beautiful, peaceful village with lots of amenities (pubs, Co-op, pharmacy)."

Lovely bathroom with huge shower and comfortable bed in main bedroom. The duvet is a very thick feather one - maybe need an alternative provided. Cottage has been recently refurbished and has been finished to a high standard. We would have preferred thicker curtains as the bedroom was very bright in the morning with only a roller blind and sheer voiles, but personal preference. Guests should note allocated parking is only suitable for one small car as it's outside the front of the house and the road is pretty narrow. We had a lovely relaxing stay and would recommend this place.

About the location

Heacham 3 miles; Royal Sandringham 4 miles; Hunstanton 5 miles.

Snettisham is a traditional Norfolk village, with many of its houses built from the local iron-rich carr stone, which has an attractive golden-brown colouring. Due to this, the buildings are known locally as “gingerbread houses”. Village amenities include general stores, a Post Office, 2 inns, a bistro and a regular bus service to the bustling, family-friendly seaside resort of Hunstanton and historic King’s Lynn. The church of St Mary sits alone on top of the hill and is certainly worthy of a look inside at the exquisitely decorated tracery flowers on the west window. There is an RSPB bird sanctuary close to the beach, which is three miles away, and the ancient Peddars Way public footpath runs near to the village. Park Farm is on the edge of the village, and is a working farm with year-round activities for all the family, including a 45-minute “deer safari” and the chance to feed some of the animals. The Royal Estate of Sandringham, whose impressive house, gardens and church are open to the public, is nearby, as are the plant farm, tea rooms and gift shop at Norfolk Lavender, England's premier lavender farm.
