  • “The bed was comfy but the whole place was dirty from wine rings on the place mats to kitchen cupboards that hadn’t been cleaned out for while, a filthy microwave with out of date PAT testing, chipped plates and cups and a filthy shower trap.”

Regardless of C-19 or not cleanliness is key anywhere but especially important at the moment.

Regardless of C-19 or not cleanliness is key anywhere but especially important at the moment. The place is considerably cleaner now than when we arrived. We don’t expect to spend a good hour cleaning a holiday let before we feel it’s OK to use. If it weren’t so late in the day when we arrived I would have tried to find somewhere else. I will be in touch with Sykes separately with photos.

Thank you for your feedback in regards to your stay at Marlane's Holiday Villa. We are sorry to hear that you found the property dirty, we can confirm that the owner spent 4 hours at the property to make sure it had been cleaned thoroughly, however, if you had contacted us we would have able to resolve any other cleaning issues that you had found when you arrived. The microwave in the property is not dirty, although it is a little bit rusty and will be replaced. The owner has already organised for the bathroom to be replaced at the property, this will be completed in the upcoming weeks. This season has been a busy one, and unfortunately updating the property is not something that can happen during the changeover. We hope you still enjoyed your weekend with us and we are sorry that we weren't made aware of them till after your stay. - Sykes owner relations
