  • "The paddocks is a lovely looking cottage in the perfect location for visiting Cromer, the cottage was clean enough and set up nicely, however it really isn’t child friendly as 2 of the bedrooms were up wooden staircases which were very slippery for small kids."

The mattresses are in desperate need of replacing, we requested to have the back door of the utility room opened as the whole area smelled very strongly of oil from the boiler but we were informed the door was broken and couldn’t be opened. Family’s with older kids would probably be more comfortable here.

We are sorry that the Paddocks didn't meet expectations. We was a little surprised because of the positive comments left in the visitors book. We were called out to remove the lock on gate between Beech Barn and the Paddocks at the time it was mentioned that there was a slight smell from the boiler. We did offer to look at boiler at the time. This offer was declined as it was only slight and one of the children was sleeping on the utility floor. Oil boilers do sometimes smell a little, there are three doors separating the boiler and the main rooms. In normal circumstances this wouldn't cause an issue. There are 2 stair gates supplied which are kept under the stairs. The stairs are clearly visible on the photos on line. We are sorry the lay out of the barn didn't suit your party, but as the building is a barn conversion compromises were made at time of conversion Property Owner

  • "The place was nice, very clean and spacious, child and pet friendly."

Two points of improvement, the mattresses are not comfortable and could do with better quality mattresses. Second, there is a need for better shower unit in the bathroom.

  • "The property was quirky and well fitted."

Whilst it had been given a basic clean, there were a lot of cobwebs and dust and in need of a more thorough clean. We also missed having a fire proof glove to use while using the wood burner.

  • "We hadnt realised from description that bathroom was on ground floor which proved a slight problem as the twin room was needed for 2 elderly relatives who then had to trapes up and down stairs in night for the toilet as the 2 room that had ensuites only had doubled beds."

The owner had done everything possible in the current circumstances to ensure that everything was clean and to a high standard . The facilities were excellent. We had an excellent family holiday , with two small children 4 and under. The garden area was extremely safe for the children to play in . There was ample room to park two cars .

  • "Do not hesitate to book this accommodation."

It is warm, spacious and in a great setting. You can walk into Cromer from here but quite a hill on the way back. If you have young children the space offered is amazing but be warned not very soundproof! Therefore if your child wakes at 5am, so probably does everyone else! But we absolutely loved it. Would always return. Owner also very friendly and approachable. Well stocked kitchen and good quality fixtures and fittings. Good value for money.

Five minutes easy drive to Cromer. The only thing I would suggest is that for 7 people I would expect a larger and more efficient fridge. Mr Brown was a very friendly approachable man . Thank you.

  • "Initial expectations were high from the web site entry so 'met expectations' not a criticism."

We had a wet week but the Paddocks was extremely welcoming on a return from a soggy day trip. All facilities well maintained and comfortable. Could maybe do with a couple more non kiddie DVDs but then we were a 'mature' group. Good pubs with food a short drive away. Especially recommend Vernon Arms in Southrepps. Cromer museum good for a couple of hours as is the Lifeboat station. Cley Nature reserve great for birdwatchers.

  • "While the weather in North Norfolk was appalling (thick fog all week, except for the Saturday we arrived, and the Saturday we left!"

), we had a very comfortable stay at The Paddocks, and appreciated the comfort and amenities all the more for being more house bound. My feeling is that the pictures on your website don't really do the building justice - it is a beautiful home, very thoughtfully and tastefully converted and furnished, and it would be lovely to see it better represented in the images, to continue to attract holiday makers, like us, who have really enjoyed our stay there. We also found the two brothers who run the accommodation very welcoming, friendly and willing to give any assistance.

  • "Very good barn conversion cottage."

Lots of space and well appointed. Good location for Cromer and north Norfolk. A few minor points which would help in the future. In the downstairs bathroom would suggest a higher shower holder plus shower curtain. So you can use the shower easier. Also while we were there the fan in the oven did not work so that caused delays in cooking things. But these did not spoil the holiday and we really liked the barn and had a good time. The pictures do not do it justice.

My only feedback would be for the main bathroom to have a normal shower as there is only one other shower and for a family of 7 it was quite difficult for us all to get showered each morning.

Within easy reach of lots of walks and attractions. We specifically came to Norfolk to take 3 generations of the family to the Thursford Xmas show which was exceptional. Our cottage was well appointed, warm and well stocked. The lay out particulary suited my family as parents are elderly and the downstairs bedroom with en suite suited their needs perfectly. Would definitely book again.
