The Lodge is in a great setting overlooking the lake. There are four other holiday lodges set around the lake but they are screened by trees so you cannot see them. Our accommodation was exactly as the photos show, everything was provided that we needed. My partner had a good time fishing whilst I sat on the balcony watching the wildlife. Not far to walk to the local amenities including The Nags Head (tasty meals) fish and chip shop ( crispy batter) and a Coop. Also a local pharmacy.

Was my 3rd time at this location and very disappointed this time. Lodge had not been maintained since last visit fire alarm kept going off at night lake was overgrown and dogs in boarding kennels barked all night. Have booked already for next year but dont want to go back so have contacted sykes to hopefully get deposit moved over to another property.

We are so sorry to hear that you didn’t enjoy your third visit. It was difficult to understand however as you had booked with Sykes again while you were still here this time. Also that you had tried to book the Shepherds hut also on the lake but it could not accept 2 dogs as is too small. We did check that the dogs at the kennels had not been heard by any of the other lodges. We would also like to dispute that the lake is badly maintained as we are very diligent in this. Also that the lodge was not up to previous standards as it has very recently been decorated and had a professional electrical check. We also have found no problem with fire alarm with any of the guests since your visit. Best Regards Robert Property Owner

The property sits on a lake, which was frozen on our arrival, and was immaculate outside and in. (Welcome gifts of eggs, milk and mince pies were appreciated.) Daybreak gave us a chance to really appreciate the setting - a glorious view over the lake; countryside views; and peaceful (other than the kennels up the drive, occasionally). The other properties round the lake are sighted so as not to be intrusive. Our dog really enjoyed the nearby nature walk (by the river) and the close access to Middle Harling Heath. The lodges around the lake (4) are cleverly positioned so it still feels private and secluded, and the wildlife was fantastic. Other reviews have mentioned the kennels and the racetrack. Neither really bothered us and certainly didn't spoil the holiday. Could hardly hear the racetrack and it was only one day, and the dogs are far enough off that it was just background noise that you don't notice after a while. Suggest parasol is supplied, but otherwise it is well equipped. Wifi would be good but it didn't cause us any problems not having it. Lots to do locally - particularly recommend Bressingham and Banham Zoo.

The brochure does not mention the noise from Snetterton race track, nor the fact that most of the week you cant walk in the woods due to the fact that they are used by a school project. There are also times when the boarding kennels are quite noisy. This information would be usefull when selecting this property as it is not as tranquil as stated.. The owners are all very friendly and did appologise for the farm requirement to cut down a large number of trees and shrubs with chain saws (quite noisy) but we were out for part of the days when this was happening..all in all we had a good break and I did get a photograph of the Kingfisher.

It was nice to have a decent sized TV and a comfy sofa. To be even better, would be to provide a king sized bed. I think double beds are too small these days and not what one expects any more. The only other point might be that perhaps it would be fair to mention somewhere that there is a boarding kennel on the site and the noise of dogs barking is frequent. For some people, that would be a deal breaker and spoil the peace and quiet.

The lodge is of a very high standard with good quality fixtures and fittings, it is the only holiday let I have been too over several years that I haven't felt the need to clean the crockery and cutlery before use. It was immaculate, the bed was very comfy . There was an extremely well equipped kitchen, with some complimentary supplies, there was even a bag of ice in the freezer which was greatly appreciated as it was the hottest week of the year so far. We were very impressed with the Farm, found the fishing a little disappointing as the lake needs some attention which we know the owners have in hand and is a work in progress. • "It was peaceful and the view from the Lodge was wonderful."

Easy access to main roads yet you felt like you were miles from anywhere. Fantastic place to stay. Just two things we would take with us next time is a tea pot and a shower mat. Other that that perfect.

Apart from that the Lodge was really lovely, quite and peaceful, and the owner was very helpful, the fishing was very good but hard to catch the big ones.

Situated on the edge of the lake on the owners' beautiful estate, this lodge has spectacular wildlife straight from the door, yet just a few minutes’ walk from the village centre of East Harling.

Step up on to the decked area with far reaching views over the lake; this is an ideal spot for enjoying a morning coffee while planning your day, that is if you can tear yourself away from your lodge and it's surroundings!

Step in from the decking via the bi-fold doors to reveal a cosy, beautifully presented light and airy open plan living area with everything you could need for your stay.

The kitchen is completed to a high standard, and the bedroom is located to the back of the lodge and has an en-suite shower room.

Guests staying at the lodge can enjoy this lovely estate; there is a beautiful riverside picnic area with thatched gazebo alongside the River Thet which runs through the estate, and a one acre lake with specimen fishing is available.

The village of East Harling is just a short walk away and has everything you could need for your stay but there is plenty to do both close by and a short drive or cycle away.

Many visitors enjoy a visit to Banham Zoo and Thetford Forest is also close by, with excellent off road cycling, wildlife, walking routes and a number of other outdoor activities and events throughout the year.

The historical and vibrant city of Norwich is easily accessible from the lodge and worth a visit with its excellent range of restaurants, shops and bars.

Just ten minutes by car is Snetterton motor racing circuit, an absolute must for motorsport fans as it plays host to a number of major sporting events such as the British Touring Car and the British Superbikes Championships.

A perfect lodge to relax at but with the advantage of so much to enjoy close by.
