  • "A lovely little cottage with comfy beds, good shower and a real fire."

Good location close to Cromer and value for money. Clean and comfortable with some yummy welcome gifts provided too. Thanks. We would book again.

  • "We had a fantastic week!"

The cottage is tiny but it was perfect for what we needed. We took our 11 month old and it had everything you could possibly need and was baby proofed beyond expectations.

  • "Very nice cottage with all the facilities we needed."

Great location for the beach and other local amenities. The only downside was that the bin from the previous guests had not been emptied and we only noticed a few days into our stay (we were using our own bin), which meant there were some flies in the cottage.

  • "Very nice cottage and everything you need for a comfortable stay."

Cottage very clean. Not able to park outside but car park just across the road and reasonably priced for a weekly ticket which you can use all around Cromer or Sheringham. The only drawback was very steep stairs to bedrooms which if you were not mobile would be a problem but does state this on the booking site.

  • "Wonderful holiday, our first proper holiday in a year and we were really pleased with it."

It’s a super cottage for a couple for a cosy romantic stay and had everything we needed. Tiny downsides - not big (not a problem for us however) and the stairs are very steep and narrow (fine for us but not for anyone of restricted mobility/balance). The wood burner had a blacked out door which was a shame but did the job and it was otherwise lovely. Fantastic location for walking to Cromer, local amenities and exploring the North Norfolk Coast. Biscuits, tea/coffee and wine on arrival a nice touch. Comfy sofa, excellent shower and bath, warm and cosy, good kitchen facilities. Would definitely stay again. We parked in the public car park for £28 (I think?) for the week - we had to search a bit for parking but this worked out well for us. We’ll keep happy memories of this holiday during an otherwise stressful time!

  • "Lovely cottage in a great location."

Unfortunately parts of the cottage were not cleaned properly. Thick dust on bedroom skirting boards, mould around the shower, dusty skirting boards here too and black grime on the sink plug. The upholstery was very stained. House was well equipped with good bedding and towels. It just needs a deep clean.

  • "The property was very clean and well maintained."

It's a bit of a squeeze in some areas but the space has been managed excellently, especially the kitchen. Lovely touches, like the fire and the 'rain' shower, nice decour, plenty of extra bits like buckets, spades, games and chairs to take to the beach. A few seconds away from the local shop, restaurants and a short walk to the local beach, which is great - not the biggest & sandiest in Norfolk but less crowded and great for kids. It's on the road through East Runton so there is some traffic noise; not unexpected, but worth noting if total silence is your top priority.

  • "We had a lovely week at the cottage -despite being on the main road - it was in a perfect position for the beach & coastal paths."

It has some quality fixtures & fitting in the kitchen & overall was well equipped and very comfortable downstairs but had little space upstairs.. It was well equipped & family friendly for a small child. Having said that I would mention a few negative issues. Firstly the cottage is advertised on three sites - one claiming that the cottage had parking. The other two say limited parking at a nearby duckpond or at the £5-7 per day at the beach car park if spaces available. In March not a major problem but can imagine virtually impossible in the summer. Secondly there were problems with the look of the soft furnishings which were were ready for cleaning or re -covering. Thirdly the log burner screen door was jet black & therefore the full enjoyment of a real fire was lost ( we have a log burner so are used to maintaining a clear door) .

  • "Perfect location and accommodation for myself and 2 children."

Very clean with everything you need. 1 min walk from beautiful beach, bus stop right outside and pub across the road. 15mins walk to Cromer. Perfect if, like me you go by train. Really handy having beach chairs and various buckets, spades, beach games left for our use! Loved it.

  • "Great location - lovely quiet beach only 3-4mins short walk away."

Owners had thought of everything you could need to have at the cottage. Key safe is tricky to use and parking is not easy. Low ceilings and door ways for anyone over 6ft

  • "Was a lovely place, extremely romantic setting (I proposed)!"

Booked via booking.com. Their message system does not seem to communicate with Sykes, however the lady at Sykes was amazing on the phone and answered all my questions. The only problem was the bed, which was quite uncomfortable. This did not take away from the whole weekend, but is probably the one point that could be improved upon (I notice another review mentioned this as well).

  • "The cottage was exactly as listed."

The facilities were superb. Very well presented with great attention to detail. The tea, coffee, biscuits and a pint of milk in the fridge was very welcome along with kitchen towels and dishwasher tablets. The location was great with all facilities dry close to hand. Local shop, pubs restaurants and a very good fish and chip shop. Very close to a blue flag beach and a car park which is free to use between the hours of 18.00 and 08.00. Would recommend this cottage and would return many times in the future.

  • "Waverley Cottage was well-appointed and clean, with all the kitchen equipment you might need for a short stay."

We agree with an earlier feedback about the sofa which was very uncomfortable and past it's sell-by date! We also found the main bed small, perhaps not even a full-sized double, and that too was uncomfortable, with a ridge or join in the mattress in the centre. My partner and I seemed to roll into the middle, and both have backache in the morning. It was handy for the beach (across the road) and also the local shop and pub, with a bus stop right outside. Traffic noise might be an issue for some visitors, particularly in the summer when windows would need to be open for ventilation.
