I was really up set by the mattresses in the flat my adult daughter would not sleep in the beds in the bunk room and spent all her time in a caravan with her friends in manor park we are both in our late seventies and had to put an air bed on top of the double bed as al the mattresses were badly stained with urine I was so looking forward to taking our daughter away as she has been having a bad time flat lovely needs new mattresses after all when you go away you mainly want a good bed

  • "The shower needs to be improved and cleaned properly A bath mat needs to be provided The floor was constantly wet either from a leak from the wash basin or shower Only one tea towel provided and as their was no dish washer this was totally inadequate."

There were 2 bath towels but no hand towels for kitchen use Location was fine and all other facilities and equipment excellent with just a little TLC this could be a lovely place to stay

We knew what to expect. There was a slight maintenance issue which was dealt with promptly

  • "Due to the current situation we expected this small flat to be exceptionally clean -the front door & windows were very dirty( I cleaned the glass in the door!"

!) Some of the surfaces inside couldn't have been wiped down as there were coasters sticky & stuck. I don't expect to see damp & mould in a kitchen cupboard- the others could have been cleaner & a mug had been put back dirty & stained. I stayed with my adult son & only being provided with 1 key was very restricting- the lock from the inside proved to be an issue at times too!!

the shower pressure was low . there was an internal leak in the lavatory that needs attention. But none of these small things spoiled our stay as we had a great time. the off road parking was good.

  • "Very clean, comfortable and close to the beach."

There was a noisy extractor fan in the second bedroom which kept the kids awake at night. We sent a message to the owner who rectified this very quickly by sending an electrician the next day to fit a switch enabling us to switch off at night. Very impressed with how quickly this was resolved. Would definitely stay here again

  • "This was my 2nd stay at Flat 3."

Both times have been brilliant. The warmth of the flat, especially in November was outstanding. All the flat is clean with all the little extras you may need, spare bedding, bulbs, batteries, sellotape etc This time when we had a query regarding the TV the owner was quick to visit & help. Even sent a tv engineer for professional touch. I will not hesitate to return to Flat 3 again.

  • "The metal fish that is displayed on the wall, constantly rattles when people are moving about in the flat above, this becomes a bit annoying."

Also cooker makes a loud noise, the shower has very low pressure. These things could be fixed I am sure.

  • "Reported missing toilet seat."

Was promised to fix it the following day. No-body arrived so lost a day of holiday waiting. Contacted Sykes cottage again but toilet seat was not replaced for three days. Not acceptable. Also bedside lamp requested and was told it would be delivered next day, but that never arrived all week. Worst of Sykes cottages accommodation over many years.

  • "Just loved it."

Flat perfect, for what we paid did everything it said, bed is so comfortable. Location great, even with bad knees I can make local pub. Texted owner Rob and he was great. Just as a pointer, if there were four people in the flat you would struggle for somewhere to hang/dry towels, so a clothes fold up drier /airer/ would be great! Maybe a tenner!

Unfortunately the owner uses a cleaning company that doesn't do a very good job, to which the owner should keep an eye on whats shower cubicle...........

  • "Flat appeared surface clean and tidy."

Bedroom sparse could have done with small bedside rug but bed very clean and comfortable. plenty of bath sheets. Kitchen, fridge badly needed defrosting. Miss match of utensils on very rusty stand. Very few oven facilities.,i.e casserole dish proper meat dish. Bathroom was a disgrace. The grouting of the tiles in the shower cubicle was black. Also the tracking of the shower unit was covered with black mould. The lounge was cosy but could have done with a small lamp. It was either sit in the dark or have full lighting on. Couldn't leave the flat as we would have wished as the vacuum hose was broken.

A clothes horse would have been useful for drying towels but apart from the our stay was perfect, just what we needed, Thank you.

It suited our needs very well. Good location close to the beach and a large Tesco’s and far enough away from the hustle and bustle of crowds of people. Clean and functional Will use it again.

We were so disappointed as I can't walk to far plus you have to pay for the disabled parking. So we won't book with you again.
