“Great cottage in an ideal location for days out.”
Dog friendly, comfortable, well equipped in a quiet village. Local pub a walk away does excellent food. Loved our week there.
“The cottage was well equipped and we did not want for anything.”
It was a brilliant location for exploring North Norfolk.
“This was a very well equipped cottage and the rooms were very spacious and comfortable.”
We particularly enjoyed having two en suite bathrooms plus a downstairs loo. The cottage was located in a village with a pub, a church and a village shop and was well placed to visit an excellent range of tourist destinations such as Norwich, Sheringham, Blickling Estate, Felbrigg Estate and Holkham Hall. We had an excellent holiday and were very taken with the area.
“This is a lovely house with a beautifully private garden.”
We really enjoyed our stay here - very comfortable. We would recommend. Thank you for making our stay enjoyable.
“The cottage is really well thought out.”
Lovely bedding, touches like a dog bed that our dog wanted to take home! Very comfortable and homely.
“Very good location with lots to do close by.”
Cottage had everything you would need and more, like a real home from home. Extremely dog friendly and very safe for out two small dogs. Very peaceful village with friendly local people. The pub is good value for food, and the local shop is more than adequate for basics. I would thoroughly recommend Truewell to anyone as a base for an excellent holiday. We had a small maintenance problem which Sykes via the owner sorted efficiently. Parking was not a problem and the whole experience very pleasant.
“This is a lovely comfortable cottage in a lovely little village.”
We wanted for nothing and particularly enjoyed our own bit of outdoor space in the courtyard. We visited many places in the area and particularly enjoyed the shire horse sanctuary at Hillside. Don't forget to check out the village church which can trace it's rectors back to 1212 and has a beautiful stained glass window. We hope to return often!
Lovely village. Great pub that did good meals within 80 paces. We were surprised by the spaciousness of the cottage.
“We had a lovely week at this cottage and got a real feel for Norfolk.”
We drove to lots of lovely places and our dog loved the open beaches particularly the one between Holkham and Wells - Next- the -sea. The grounds at Holkham Hall where also lovely. We found lots of delicious local produce to eat and spent lots of money at a farmers market. The house is very well laid out and the owner(s) have done a great job at keeping a 200 year old cottage in good order. The kitchen had plenty of utensils for cooking and was perfect for sociable eating. The TV and log burner made for cosy evenings. Some of the furniture is a bit tired but I noticed signs of some upcoming decorating so I expect the furniture (sofas) might be considered as part of a refurb. A very dog friendly home so a more sturdy vacuum cleaner would also help guests to keep the cottage clean. That said, we’d happyly return one day and the owner was very helpful. Thank you.
“Well equipped cottage .”
Good location. Not as good for eating places but not really a problem as we ventured out in the day and ate snacks in the evening. Better when local pub is refurbished.
“Fabulous holiday cottage”
We stayed here for a week in June. The cottage is lovely as soon as we walked in we felt at home. The kitchen is lovely and very well equipped. Milk in the fridge and tea bags went down a treat after the drive thank you. The bedrooms are both such good sizes and having both ensuites made it so much easier. We had a 5 year old with us so having a downstairs toilet was a god send. The decking area was lovely we often sat outside with a glass of wine to watch the sun go down. The out house was great for washing and storing our bikes. The open fire was lovely in the evening. You can tell the owner of the house loves this house and had spent a lot of money to make it feel home from home which was certainly achieved. Local pub was nice and a local shop which is always handy. Found a great park a few minute walk from the house to little one was happy. If you want to geo cash there is one in the village but I won't spoilt it and tell you where it is. A great location for all the beaches and great dog walks. Would defiantly book again. Nice to be able to go somewhere and take the dog and relax for a week. Thank you
“A real treat”
This cottage is absolutely lovely! The master bedroom is quite large for a cottage (plenty of space for a baby cot) and the lounge and second bedroom were spacious too. The kitchen was well equipped and had a nice layout. This worked really well with a family of 5 and I would love to stay here again. The only possible down side is that it is pet friendly (which is clearly stated), so if you're not keen there was a faint smell of dog (but this is not a criticism at all, as the cottage details say clearly that it's pet friendly). On the other had, this is a major plus if you have a dog, as it was well equipped - there's even a little building at the back to dry things or put muddy wellies. The court yard garden is delightful - really sheltered with a wooden table and chairs and parasol. I had coffee out side in the morning and read the papers - lovely (there's a little village shop just about 50 yards away). There's also a great village pub just a few steps away - the food is great! Wow, what a great place for a peaceful retreat. Finally - the owner is really friendly and helpful, which made us feel really welcome and got the holiday off to a great start. oh - AND... the bed in the master bedroom is huge and comfortable - the best bed in a rented property I've ever stayed in!!! If sleep is important to you - this is the place for you!
