  • "This was our second visit to this warm, clean and comfortable property."

It is located in a quiet and peaceful location. We met the owners Jeff and Sharon who are very friendly, helpful and welcoming. We think it speaks volumes the fact that we are in the process of booking another visit in the near future.

  • "We've just come back from a fantastic week at Penteny."

Everything was extremely comfortable and it had everything you would need for the whole family. The shower is very powerful, beds are really comfortable and the towels were so fluffy. It's layout and location were amazing too. The space and privercy between the accommodation was wonderful. You can sit outside on the huge decking and look right onto the lake, it's a beautiful lake to walk around too. Our three young children loved playing outside and riding their bikes around. The area has so much to explore, and the site has a great pub with fabulous meals. This is an amazing place and would definitely stay again.

  • "We really enjoyed our 4 nights away at Pentney Lakes."

The property was very well equipped for our needs with generous outdoor space and plenty of seating, ideal for sitting outside with a glass of wine after a day exploring. An ideal base for visiting local attractions. We travelled to Sandringham Estate, Hunstanton and went for a walk in West Bilney Wood which is just across from the main site entrance. The on-site clubhouse is really friendly with a great atmosphere and serves a variety of food, including a good range of gluten free items. We would definitely visit again.

There was everything that we needed for the stay. The beds were comfortable and it was ideal that they were made up and left ready for when we arrived. The full size fridge/freezer was a bonus.

  • "While we have visited the Pentney area previously this was our first stay in this particular property."

Everything was as described in the listing. The lodge was warm, clean and spacious. The surrounding area was very quiet and the lodge overlooks the lake where we understand some otters have taken up residence. A number of earlier guests have commented in the "visitors book" that they will return, and we will definately do so. Thank you to the owners for a lovely break.

It was quite remote and I was expecting perhaps a little more on the site itself, but that was a minor thing. Overall a very pleasant stay.

  • "It is a quality property, well furnished and equipped, in an idyllic setting with views of the lake."

It was sparkling clean and tidy for our arrival, and the owner Jeff was contact- able by mobile phone when we had a little difficulty locating the key and connecting to the wi-fi. There is plenty to do in the area, whatever your interests. You need a car or a bike to access shops. Some of the pubs in Swaffham appear to stop serving food at 7.30 pm, but The George Inn has a varied menu with daily specials and continues service till 9 pm. We had a very relaxing stay, and our granddaughters took full advantage of the water skiing on and swimming in the lake.

  • "The mobile home was nice but was dirty on arrival."

Cobwebs in the kitchen with flies on it. In the main bedroom there still is a dead fly sitting on the blind of the left hand ceiling window. There were also dead flies on the floor near the tv. The place needs to be cleaned properly after someone leaves. My wife and I cleaned the cobwebs and hoovered the place properly before leaving as it’s not comforting for anyone to come see this. Plus the place needs a washing machine, after staying a week I had to wash all he kids clothing by hand and couldn’t leave outside as the dirt and dust from car driving by made the clothes dirty again, clothes washed by hand takes forever to dry when inside the mobile home. The dishwasher is of no value if cleaning tablets aren’t provided. No mop/bucket was provided so when any of the children dropped anything I had to use wipes to clean the floor. The children’s bedroom was far to tiny with two tiny single beds. The lights in the hallway wasn’t working so had to use lamp from main room for children. The light switch in the main bedroom has been connected incorrectly, the light switches on when pressing up. The fire alarm didn’t work when tested, so major concern. There’s also a whole near the top of the ceiling above sofa which I had to put tissue in as flies kept coming in.

Thank you for your very positive comments in our visitor’s book, we aim to make our guests as comfortable as possible. Our lodge is cleaned to the highest standard, sorry about the cobweb but we are in a rural setting, as soon as we clear them, they can reappear. Thank you for cleaning the lodge before you left, and we did clean it again properly before the next guests arrived later that day. The website clearly states all facilities available at the Lodge, a washing machine is not listed as there are many local Laundrettes. We do supply an airer for guests to use. We are a self-catering lodge so do not supply shopping or cleaning products, but we leave a couple of complimentary dishwasher tablets as we ask guests to put the dishwasher on when they leave. We leave 2 mop buckets in the gas enclosure behind the lodge if needed. The lodge, as advertised, has 2 bedrooms. 1 master with a King size bed and a CHILDRENS room with 2 child single beds 2’ x 5’. The master bedroom has 2 x 2-way switch’s so 1 will always be upside down. The smoke/fire alarm works perfectly well as does the carbon monoxide meter. Any flies will come through the patio doors when they’re open, not through the small hole in the wall. (Now sealed), Being a very rural location, there is an abundance of wildlife and birds (spiders and flies included) compared to a city/town setting. Property Owner

  • "Accommodation was better than anticipated and very clean."

Excellent bed with good linen. Located overlooking the lake. Large decking area at the side and also on the front. Good shower and bedroom larger than had imagined with large wardrobe and skylights allowing air flow. Good fridge and kitchen accessories were good quality. The site is very natural and unspoilt and we slept really well as it was so quiet over night. Comfortable furnishings. Ideal for 2. Fishing was very good. Only downside is the road that runs through the site and directly in front of the vans. It is dust and not concrete. As such vehicles exceeding the speed limit - and most did, resulted in large plumes of dust falling across the front decking and sometimes into the van, making it impossible to sit on the front and the spread of the dust did leave us feeling grubby and our clothes dirty. No washing machine which would help if staying longer. It was very hot when we stayed which probably exacerbated the issue but it was bad and you could only use the seating at the rear of the side decking if you wanted to sit out and dine or have a drink. The only other problem was we tried to put our rubbish into the green bin the owner had indicated, but were told when we did so, the bin was only for residents and not visitors. As such we had to leave the rubbish for the owner to dispose of. A bin nearer for the holiday bins would be a simple solution.

  • "109 Pentney Lakes caravan was fab!"

Obviously it's small, but it was overall more spacious than we thought, and there's loads of outside decking which makes it even bigger, if the weather obliges. We sat outside to eat a couple of times, there's plenty of space. We also managed to park 3 cars, so that wasn't an issue either. The kitchen is well equipped - its just like a small version of being at home, with everything you need, even a coffee machine. Welcome pack was also very generous (thank you!), and the whole place was spotlessly clean. And nicely decorated too. Big fridge/freezer, plenty of room for the wine and snacks! The area is small for more than one adult to be preparing food, but that's fine. I guess if you have 6 people you may struggle to all sit at the kitchen table, but again, wasn't a problem for us. We used both bedrooms and the sofa bed too. The sofa bed was comfortable, and the lounge was great for chilling, with the patio doors open it was lovely. The bathroom was good too - with a really nice shower. We go to Pentney so we can ski at Premier Water Ski with Greg - and we loved staying in the caravan this time as it felt like a bit of luxury, a nice place to retreat to when we were tired and needed a cuppa, but still close to the lake so we didn't miss anything going on! One bit of advice - if you're sleeping on the sofa bed, make sure you close the blind on the ceiling window in the kitchen - otherwise you'll get woken up by a rogue sunbeam on your face! I could've got up to try and work out how to close the blind - but at 5am I couldn't be bothered! Great caravan, loved it, we will definitely try and stay here again, if we can get it for a short break again.
