40 Fairway Lakes Village, A comfortable cottage with (almost) every amenity one could wish for. Our daughter and her husband used the downstairs bedroom and our grandson & granddaughter slept in the 2 single beds in the 3rd bedroom. That left us the upstairs bedroom. The double beds are super king-size and comfortable albeit that my wife and I found the bed a little “on the low side”. We are 72 & (nearly) 75 and reasonably “mobile” for our age, but I can imagine that older and/or less mobile “senior citizens” could experience some problems getting in and, especially out of bed. There is one bathroom/toilet on the 1st floor and 2 on the ground floor so no “queuing up to make use of the facilities”. Both the ground and upper floor have a large porch/balcony but unfortunately the weather gods were not on our side most of the week. On a warm summer day it will be nice place to sit in the company of others (or alone) and enjoy a good glass of wine. With the exception of myself, the family made frequent use of the sauna and the jacuzzi. Personally, I do not like hot & humid places but because the grandchildren “insisted” I did have one “dip” in the jacuzzi. The open plan layout of the living room/kitchen on the upper floor is very inviting and well-appointed with the big red sofa providing plenty of room for all 6 of us to sit in comfort. What with it being late April during our stay, it was very quiet but the cottages are so far apart that even in the high season it is hardly likely to be noisy (although much of course depend on the inhabitants at the time). The site is adjacent to a golf link and the road that runs past the premises is far enough away so that you do not hear any traffic noise in the evening/night. All in all we would certainly recommend 40 Fairway Lakes Village as a place to stay when visiting East Anglia. Just one little “niggle”: although an in-car navigation system gets you to your destination, it does let you down on the last couple of 100 metres so you have to be alert not to pass fork in the road where you have to veer to the right to get to the cottages (they are well "hidden" until the last moment). Once on the park we had a bit of trouble trying to find no. 40 (not all houses display the number). Sykes could do a little better here by supplying map of the site with a remark “go to the spot marked ‘X’ :-).
