  • "Your description of the cottage was not informative enough."

The cottage was very small, it did not have a comfortable lounge which we were expecting. The bed was difficult to get into as there was no room either side of it. Also it felt very rickety. Looking under the bed there was a log which we presumed was giving the bed some support. The bedding was awful, very cheap material and duvet was not good quality. Incidentally the floor was very dusty under there, obviously had not beed cleaned for a while. I had to clean the toilet floor as that also was not very clean. We did not have enough towels in the bathroom and had to request one. Only 2 hand and one bath was left. We were given one bath towel. I hoped that they would be changed during the week but had no info on whether linen would be changed. Fortunately I saw the cleaner during the week and she asked if we needed anything so I asked for more towels. However they were brand new and had not been prewashed so we’re not absorbent. Our kitchen was satisfactory and clean but the bin was missing a lid so not very hygienic. There were plenty of plug boxes but they were positioned too close to a shelf so we’re not usable unless an adapter was used. The owners were lovely people, very friendly and accommodating. We found out they had only been there for 7 months so we could understand all this was new to them. Sykes really were at fault for not giving a clear picture of the cottage and the price should have been less than we paid on reflection. However it was in a lovely setting with use of an indoor pool. There was another cottage next door which we were able to look at and that was much better, much bigger and very nice but unfortunately was booked up. Our cottage felt like a spill-over from the larger cottage, only meant for sleeping in. So all in all we made the most of it. It served a purpose as we wanted to explore Norfolk but we did expect a little more comfort. Would suggest you give a detailed list of what is or isn’t provided , ie tv, iron, hair dryer etc. We brought all three of those with us!!!!
