“Lovely place to stay for a large group.”
Plenty of space, and a beautiful property.
Plenty of space, and a beautiful property. Owner very helpful.
“Great location for dog walking.”
Good beds. No cooking basics eg. olive oil, herbs, stock cubes, clingfilm etc. Limited cooking utensils eg. sieve, jugs, pyrex lids, bendy forks (identified by previous guests) No spare toilet rolls. Fairly clean; not necessarily if furniture moved. Courtyard neglected.
“Just got back from a week away, with 11 people and 5 dogs, and I have to say it was amazing.”
The Barn is big, spacious, and you can either spend all of your time together or take time away on your own. Myself and my husband stayed in the downstairs room with bunks and a single (due to our dogs liking to share....). I will list the positives first as they very much outweigh any negatives. Big / Courtyard 100% secure for children and dogs / more than enough storage in the kitchen / 2 x large fridges / fab cooker / plates & pans and other kitchen equipment / perfect location / loads of dvds & games. Negatives (really trivial... but may help for future bookings) The actual garden is not secure for dogs / children unsupervised, no gate and the fencing is wide enough to get through, so we stayed in the courtyard. Couple of mattresses were a little uncomfortable, and REALLY trivial the forks were REALLY bendy, stupid but when eating something a little tough made it really quite hard to eat... Finally, the WiFi, really not very good at all. Adults weren't too bothered but some of the group found it quite annoying. I would Definitely come back to Dairy Barn, in the cooler months as want to try the log burner!!! Donna has an amazing property which is perfect for dog families like ours.
“We had a wonderful holiday at the Dairy Barn.”
The property was much larger than we expected, and gave the whole extended family (three generations) space to relax and have fun. We loved the living area, garden and the whole feel of the place. Norfolk is a beautiful county. We'll definitely be coming back.
“Six cycling chaps, late 60s, early 70s (no Lycra whatsoever), booked Dairy Barn for our 9th annual cycling holiday.”
We wanted a bedroom each, sufficient bathrooms, out of view storage for our bikes, adequate parking for our three vehicles (two were campervans), and located in area offering a variety of cycling routes. Dairy Barn more than exceeded our expectations. It is very comfortable and spacious, has a high standard of furnishing, was spotlessly clean, and has peaceful gardens. It was probably the best accommodation we have stayed in on our cycling holidays. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It is a wonderful and perfect location. We cycled between 30 and 45 miles each day taking advantage of beautiful local lanes with verges full of wild flowers, and the wonderful Norfolk Broads. There are many fine pubs, tea rooms and cafes in the area. We can fully recommend Dairy Barn as it is a wonderful holiday home.
“Dairy Barn is amazing.”
It is situated in a beautiful quiet country lane It is exceptionally spacious and comfortable. It easily accommodated our large party. The property is very well equipped with every thing we needed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the barn and would highly recommend it to friends and family. We are considering booking again for another weekend family get together
“We had one or two issues which were resolved very quickly .”
The welcome pack was wonderful . The gardens could do with some attention
“Dairy. Barn was excellent.”
Very spacious and well equipped and in a super location. The enclosed courtyard was great for our five dogs. There was a lovely welcome hamper from the owner. The only slight problem was the steps to the downstairs rooms. Only a couple of shallow steps but difficult to negotiate for one of our party who is elderly and disabled. I would highly recommend Dairy Barn.
“Great place in a fantastic location with the added benefit of being able to watch lots of partridges and pheasants on and around the property!”
“What a lovely home .”
We had a wonderful time their celebrating my 70th birthday.theirs everything you need .the photos don't do it justice it's lovely .
“Absolutely stunning accommodation for a great family weekend!”
“Lovely holiday home and very well maintained.”
“Dairy Barn is just lovely, I wish I could live there.”
Ten of us (three families) and a dog had a great week here and would love to return. The owner has given a lot of thought into the layout of the place and the games, books, puzzles and even clean towels especially for muddy paws. The kitchen was well equipped and it was with good quality pots and pans (finally a place where you don't have to scrape the eggs from the pan that promised to be anti stick). Locals are very friendly. There is plenty of room to all be together or take yourself off for some quiet time. The barn is welcoming and homely with some lovely touches. I spoke to the owner Donna a couple of times before going and she was very friendly and helpful and said i could contact her if there were any problems (which there weren't). the only negative we had was that some of the beds were uncomfortable and some of us could not sleep that well, but overall, ten happy guests and one extremely happy dog who enjoyed himself immensley. One thing to add is that the barn did not smell of animals, even though we knew a dog had stayed there before us, it was very clean and fresh, a pleasure to walk in. it may be good to note that the water can be a little sandy due to where the supply comes from so it would be good to take some bottles water, although there were two massive bottles waiting for us on arrival and the owner had told me before we went.
“Lovely place to stay.”
We did all unfortunately find our beds uncomfortable so would suggest a little investment on new mattresses. We had a very fun weekend as there are so many games at the barn to use. It was beautifully clean & very warm inside for January. We managed a 4 mile walk along the waters edge to The Bridge pub for lunch which I would highly recommend (book in advance) Also having the back garden securely fenced in would be great for people who have dogs or even children.
“The Dairy barn was beautiful.”
.. the pictures online just don’t do it justice at all and we were all blown away with how lovely it was when we arrived. The house had been decorated beautifully for Christmas and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. There were some lovely country walks around and The private courtyard was perfect for our dog to run around in. Our only complaint was that there was no heating in one bedroom and a couple of the beds were a little uncomfortable, however this may be down to personal choice! Thank you for a lovely Christmassy weekend away, it has really started the festive period for us.
“Gorgeous property in a lovely setting.”
Ample room for a large group with excellent facilities. Everything you could possibly need. Would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a break in Norfolk with a large group of family or friends. We left something behind and the person I spoke to was so helpful and accommodating.
“Super property much bigger than expected would highy recommend”
“The owner was fabulous.”
We had to contact her about a couple of things and she was great.
“I looked all over Norfolk for a suitable venue for the week I required and this appeared to be the best in my price bracket.”
We weren't disappointed. This is a beautiful family home in a lovely, quiet location. Approx fifteen minutes to Winterton-on-Sea with its stunning beach. The house is vast. Beautifully clean and well equipped with everything you could want. Clippesby Campsite just along the lane is ony a five minute walk away - shop, cafe etc. A couple of minor hiccups were dealt with promptly by contacting the lady on the given literature. She was extremely pleasant and helpful. There are LOADS of games of all descriptions. We did a 1000 piece jigsaw and not one piece was missing. Our only grouse was the size of the table-tennis table. We, as a family, love table-tennis and were extremely disapponted that the one in Dairy Barn is minature. I think that this should be made clear on the website. There is heaps of space for a full-size one so perhaps at a later date...? Other than that I give this place 10 out of 10. Excellent! Please thank the owner on our behalf.
