  • "Excellent location for the beach, meals out, local shops and bus service."

Very nice house that met all of our needs. (4 adults plus a small dog) Would highly recommend it to couples or families that are looking for a relaxing stay, near to the sea, with plenty of local walks.

Thank you and we are glad you had a good visit to Mundesley. Hope you will visit again. Property Owner

  • "A lovely, spacious house in a good position for shops, beach, eateries etc."

Slight disappointment was the pretty poor welcome pack. A box of sugar, coffee, milk sachets and a few teabags doesn't really do much to make you feel welcome. It doesn't go with high quality accommodation. I forgot the 4 packs of 2 biscuits, in a house that can sleep 7. We did enjoy our stay although we almost drowned in the horrendous rain ☺. Unfortunately had to go home after two nights due to family issue. Is it possible to put the key safe in a more accessible place, it's almost ground level and a long way from the car parking.

  • "Flinstone Cottage was very comfortable and well equipped for 4 adults and everything worked well, except the clocks, all of which had stopped."

The only real complaint was that the cleaners were still there when we arrived at 4.05pm and told us they would need at least another 20 minutes (no apologies)! 4pm is already a late check-in time, so the property really should be ready by then. We also missed some written information about the cottage (for example, about recycling, bin day, local amenities etc.) as we could not find anything, including online. However, we figured things out and had a really enjoyable stay. The cottage is very well situated in this beautiful village, walking distance from the beach (for able-bodied people). Parking behind Flinstone Cottage is VERY tight for two ordinary cars, but we managed. In all, we would recommend Flintstone Cottage. Thank you.

Thankyou for your helpful feedback and positive comments about our house and the beautiful village of Mudesley. My apologies for the clocks, we do leave spare batteries under the sink and a guest file with useful information. We will check both of these items during our next visit and ensure the clocks are working. We have contacted our cleaners and await their response to your comments, but please accept my aplogies for your late access. Our parking does include the access to the spaces, so if you have two large cars it may be easier to park one in front of the other, rather than side by side. Property Owner

  • "This was our 2nd visit to Flint Cottage."

The house itself didn’t disappoint with plenty of room for myself, husband, 2 kids, dog, and my father in law, who spends most of his time in a wheelchair. We love being so close to the beach and the kids (age 10 and 13) enjoy going off by themselves for an ice cream or visit to the arcade. I love the independent shops and always treat myself to a trip to Jupe! The only thing that let us down was the cleanliness of the property. We are not normally fussy about such things but for the amount we were paying, and not being able to gain access until 4pm, we expected a better standard. On this occasion under the furniture hadn’t been cleaned where we found lots of dust and two small shards of glass by one chair. The dishwasher needed a deep clean and we had to re wash the crockery and glasses (one of which was cracked) by hand before they could be used. Dirty crockery had also been left in the dishwasher upon our arrival. The skirting boards were very dusty and the main dressing table needed cleaning. Also, the handle for the grill didn’t fit and there were no oven gloves, both of which were really needed. Once we had cleaned the above, we really enjoyed our stay. It was just a disappointing start but it wouldn’t stop us returning on our next visit to Norfolk.

Thank you for your comments and for holidaying in our property for a second time. We apologise for the standard of cleaning, which is normally very good and have passed on your comments to our cleaners to ensure that standards do not slip again. Oven gloves have must have been taken by a previous rental but We have sent some new oven gloves to be placed in the property by our cleaners and we will review your other comments during our next visit. We are glad you are supporting our favourite shop Jupe! Property Owner

Generally well kept and comfortable. A rotary line or a better drying rack for wetsuits would help alot. However we managed . Beds Lovely and comfy, the garden was also lovely. A SMART TV for the kids when the weather isn't great would be welcomed. But it's quiet, and a great location, easy walk to the beach. We had a lovely time.

Glad you enjoyed your visit. Hope you will return and the weather will be better. Property Owner

  • "This is a beautiful cottage in a great location."

Lovely garden enclosed to keep pets and children safe. Shops, park beach close by. However, it was not cleaned to a satisfactory level. We love to cook and the cooker / grill were not clean. The kettle was not clean , we discaled it ourselves which is not what you expect on your holiday. There was issues with the toilets which kept getting stuck .WiFi not great. Also there is a step in the garden to the left which has broken. We stripped the beds and found a stain on the double bed we slept in. Unfortunately people can be very negative in their comments on any property. These are just our thoughts on the property and as renters ourselves we hope the owners are not offended by these comments.

Glad you enjoyed the cottage and location. We have passed on your comments with regards the cleaning to the company we use. The Wi-Fi we have not had problems , three teenagers will vouch for that. Unfortunately we cannot do much to improve it as Mundesley is a rural location and we after your comments we have asked for better speed and we were informed that it is the maximum for that area. • "Nice cottage and location with a few niggles."

No hand soap is unusual, it’s something we would expect to have these days. The key safe is difficult to access for anyone with mobility issues or arthritis in their hands. The vacuum is very old, noisy and smells awful. More crockery would help reduce the amount of dishwasher runs. The twin bedroom light flickers badly. The sheets and pillowcases are nice and everyone said their bed was comfortable. Other places I have stayed have been more welcoming and considerate with things like salt and pepper, vinegar and sauces available to use, a pint of milk in the fridge, nice hand soap etc. I have had eight or more requests to complete feedback starting from the week before we went and a ‘ How was your stay’ a day before we left. Please stop sending them.

Thank you for feedback and glad you enjoyed your stay. We will feedback to Sykes re. Soap etc and Email feedback, sorry nothing to do with us on the internet front but will take up with the booking company! The property caters for 7 but there should be crockery / cutlery for 12? We trust previous Rentals to replace if break/take so apologies if you found not sufficient . With regards condiments it’s not the norm to supply unless request when booking. We offer a welcome pack anything above that you need to do via the booking through the company. Hope you will visit again. Property Owner

The village of Mundesley was lovely out of season, very restful and ideal for exploring the area. We used the conservatory quite a bit as it was light and airy and a good place for our dog to chill out in.

Clean, comfortable, and well-provisioned. Directions and entry instructions spot on. Only niggles were seemingly slight crockery shortage for max no. of occupants and no sign of TV remote. Also no sign of the baby/toddler accoutrements which we’d requested (3 times). And my 6’3” son kept complaining the light in the lounge hung too low! But a great stay nonetheless.

Thank you for your feedback and we glad you enjoyed your stay. We are aware of lack of tv control. Unfortunately a previous booking led to this! Our service team should have now received a new one and will replace. Crockery also been used and unfortunately some guests don’t replace broken crockery, we try to do so though as soon as we can. • "Flintstone was a lovely cottage in a great location in Mundesley within walking distance to the beach, shops, pub, field and play park."

Very well decorated and plenty of space for 5 adults and 2 grandchildren with a nice conservatory and welcome pack. A few points for attention however include: The badly brown stained toilet bowls which we improved straight away with domestos. The TV reception was really bad and we couldn't get the DVD or Blu Ray players working. This was resolved following 2 visits of the maintenance man and our request for instructions. We note that this was a similar problem for a previous reviewer also in August. Suggest leaving instructions in the House Guide and a review of TV reception. Some light bulbs also need replacing. The garden although a nice area would benefit from some tidying and cutting back shrubs around the patio table and clearance of some accumulated rubbish. A further enhancement would be to provide a washing line for beachwear, towels etc. Despite these we had a nice time and would have no hesitation in returning for another holiday

Thank you for your feedback and we have let our property maintenance team know of your issues. Glad you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

  • "This was our 3rd stay in different cottages in Norfolk and our favourite so far."

It was clean and tidy when we arrived and appreciated the welcome gifts of tea, coffee, milk and a box of chocolates. We were a 9 minute walk from the beach and were fortunate to have great weather so spent most of our time there. My husband and daughter had a surfing lesson, which was the highlight of my daughter’s week, whilst my son preferred heading to the amusement arcade, and the dog learnt her way to the beach very quickly insisting on walks there at every opportunity. At the end of the road there’s a lovely butchers and deli, a Post Office, greengrocer, gift shop and clothes shop just around the corner. Fish and chips from The Ship Inn were delicious but we were disappointed by the slowness of the table service when we ate in the restaurant. We also ate at The View Restaurant, which had both lovely food and excellent service. The property has a downstairs bedroom and bathroom. My disabled father in law came with us and I only provide this as a comment not a criticism as the property does not profess to be set up for disabled access. Both the front and rear entrances have a couple of steps so you can’t wheel a chair into the property. Also, the downstairs bathroom and shower are quite small making it difficult for a disabled person to move around and shower successfully. My father in law still enjoyed his stay despite this. The only negative comments we would make about the property are that slightly better cooking facilities would be appreciated such as sharp knives (they were all blunt making cutting veg difficult), a large frying pan/wok, a couple of ovenproof dishes (I had brought ingredients for lasagne but then had nothing to cook it in) and a proper chopping board. Also we couldn’t find instructions for the tv/DVD etc and had to give up using them by the final evening. However I’m just being fussy. Overall we had an amazing stay and didn’t want to leave. We have already booked to go back next summer.

Glad you enjoyed your stay at Flintstone cottage and thank you for your feedback. Property Owner

  • "Very comfortable and generally clean property, exactly as described."

Mundesley itself at this time of the year is a very quiet village, but the pub and a couple of takeaways are open and friendly. The location of the property is excellent near the village centre and a short walk to the beach. Just some minor feedback. The slabs on the exterior paths are really quite slippy and could do with being cleaned. Inside the property, the lightbulb above the downstairs shower needs to be replaced and the extractor fan wasn’t working. A couple of plates were chipped and could do with being replaced. Finally, a couple of our party are allergic to pets and they felt that there had been pets in parts of the property.

Thank you for your comments, we are glad you liked Mundesley and Flintstone Cottage. We have noted your comments regarding our property and fed this back to our maintenance company. While pets should not have been in the property prior to your stay, we rely on guests to honour this rule. We have made improvements to the property this winter, so that pets will be allowed, downstairs only, in future. Property Owner

Examples Toilets badly stained..needed bleaching Toilet roll holders rusty..need replacing Carpets have lots of stains Dining chair stained Conservatory had lots of cobwebs and dead flies everywhere on our arrival Used tissues under one of the beds Lack of mirrors in two of the bedrooms

Thank you for your feedback. We visited the property ourselves at the weekend and can therefore comment in respect of your observations as follows: * The standard of cleaning was very good upon our arrival, although we have spoken to the cleaners and asked them to improve their consistency to ensure every guest receives the same high standard. * We have ordered new toilet roll holders, as the existing ones have certainly lost their sparkle. These will be replaced when we visit next. * There are new stains on the carpets downstairs which are the result of a very busy summer booking period, however the carpets are clean and overall in a good state of repair and appearance. We will attempt to remove the stains during our winter maintenance visits and/or replace with hard floors downstairs. * One of the dining chairs has a light cover which has acquired a new stain. We will attempt to remove the stain during our winter maintenance visits or replace with a new cover. * There are plenty of mirrors around the house, but we note your comments about two of the bedrooms. I believe one of these rooms does in fact have a table top mirror, but we ensure all bedrooms have a mirror during our next visit. Thanks again for your comments and we hope you enjoyed your stay in Mundesley. Property Owner

  • "Could not gain access to Flintstone Cottage until 5."

15pm on the 20th August as cleaners were still on site ( apparently this was not as a result of how the house had been left by the previous occupants). The freezer in kitchen was not usable as could not open drawers until I had defrosted it (pictures available) Cleaners need to dust the property including blinds and skirting boards . Also lack of kitchen cupboard storage space for food as the owners had padlocked the two largest cupboards for there own use and as there were 7 of us in our party this proved challenging. Also one white bath towel and one white hand towel per person for the week was not sufficient as there is no washing machine in the property . Despite these irritations , we liked the property and very much enjoyed our stay in Mundesley.

Dear Mrs Lillis, thank you for your feedback. We are sorry for your delayed access and your comments on cleaning. We have taken this matter up with our cleaners. I am afraid the freezer cannot be defrosted in the time available to the cleaners when we have back to back bookings. We are reliant upon guests not overfilling the freezer and preventing the door from closing, which creates the frost. I am sorry that the freezer was already frosted when you arrived and we are grateful that you took the time to defrost it. We are visiting the property shortly and will update the guest file with further guidance to help guests mitigate this problem in future. I'm sorry you found the available food storage insufficient, this is not a problem we have experienced before with full bookings, but we will review this upon our next visit. We do not advertise a washing machine at the property, but are considering installing one. Property Owner
