First, let me say that the cottage is very comfortable to sleep two adults and a couple of kids. It also suits a kidless-couple who want to get some peace of quiet on the odd night, because of snoring or sickness. We brought our two small dogs along for the ride. First, let me say that the cottage is very comfortable to sleep two adults and a couple of kids. It also suits a kidless-couple who want to get some peace of quiet on the odd night, because of snoring or sickness. We brought our two small dogs along for the ride. We put their beds and blankets in the living room area. This cottage has a fully enclosed garden. We were delighted, because one of our dogs is a runner. So we can relax without concern. There was enough space for the dog bed in the living room. The owner has a wood burner stove in there, but they allow guest to use it. There was no need for it as the central heating radiators kick out serious heat, and there are additional electric wall heaters around the place. Downstairs the cottage is insulated well. The upstairs loft room has a small air flow heater. There is no central heating radiators upstairs. The upstairs lavatory is a cloak room, but it is adequate. I was amazed they managed to get a mixer shower in a separate enclosure. Water was hot and warm. Great! The living room has a two seater sofa and a couple of single seater chairs. There is a dining table and four chairs. The decor is modern, but with nod to country living. We loved the drop autumn brown red leaf curtains. There are plenty of extra A/C socket around the living room for connections. The downstairs bedroom is decent size with a shower and toilet ensuite.
The kitchen area has all the utilities you need. There is a small fridge, microwave, electric stove and double oven. My only gripe was that there was no freezer, so where would a family keep frozen fish and chips, ice cream and lollies in the summer months? The cottage has FreeSat and dated flatscreen HD television. I believe the owner was going to upgrade the media set up in the near future. We could get Vodafone 4G no problem inside the cottage. The owner's WIFI is simply not strong enough to connect to, they really need a relay / signal radio booster. So it is good idea bring a MIFI device, if you own one. We stayed in early April for 2.5 days, so we didn't see the swimming pool or the games room. Ergo, we can't comment on them. Cromer's beach is 30 minutes drive north. Norwich town is 15 minutes drive south. There are large grassy grounds outside the cottage to take the dogs. It is a quiet location. Luckily, we had the whole building to ourselves as the adjacent Barn property was empty. We were impressed with Woodman's Cottage on the whole, presentation, aspect and the location.
