    “Great weekend break”

4 of us stayed at the cottage for a long weekend and we were not disappointed. It was very difficult to find, and without the help of a very kind local I can imagine we would have been driving for a long time. The cottage had everything we needed and more and was very well furnished. The bathroom was very modern and the shower was amazing, however only 1 roll of loo roll. With the nearest shop being a 10 minute drive I would of imagined these to be in buffer stock. The bedrooms were well ...

The bedrooms were well furnished and had everything you needed. The annexe smelt lovely, considering the annexe had a log burner you couldn’t tell. They had everything you needed: hair dryer, iron, ironing board, washing machine, microwave etc. The beds were so very comfy. They even had 2 snuggly blankets which were a nice addition! However, there were a few things which weren’t quite right. The carpet in the living room was absolutely filthy and needed a serious deep clean. We were so excited for the hot tub (as it was difficult to find accommodation with 2 double beds and a tub) which was very relaxing however all 4 of us ended up with rashes on our body. Mine and the other ladies bum had rashes on and the gents backs and thighs came out in rashes. I want to point out, we had no rashes before, no itching or redness. My bum hurt in the hot tub after only 15 minutes and we all headed back inside after we all started feeling the sting. This was extremely uncomfortable for the remainder and we did not get back in the tub. And with the high powered shower this also posed an issue on our rashes. The doors were extremely hard to open, I didn’t think we had a bath room as the door seemed impossible to open! Noise echoed through the annexe, including the door latches being opened. Regardless of this we still had a great time. Would be brilliant in the summer with the french doors and a BBQ. The duck was extremely friendly and so cute! There wasn’t much to do apart from walk, and the local pubs didn’t offer the best menus. We took a drive out and 3 of the pubs were ‘fully booked’ and we were called ‘bloody foreigners’ in one as we walked out! Hilarious, as we are all brits! If I was to return, would probably ensure I had all food and drinks with me and cook there as there was enough utensils to do so.
