Great location, a stones throw from the sea and lovely beach walks. Plenty of pubs nearby in walking distance and supermarkets/shops a very short drive away. The house had everything we needed and was spacious and comfy. Thank you Alison!

Fabulous welcome pack and Alison had thought of everything you could possibly need. Great, quiet location too! Only thing to be aware of is second staircase very steep so maybe not suitable for elderly or disabled. Highly recommended accommodation.

  • "114 By The Sea is a delightful terraced cottage."

I was a little unsure about booking a terrace as we usually choose isolated properties but we couldn't have been happier! Alison texted a few days before, and we met her as we arrived - lovely lady! She'd done a sterling job cleaning the house for Covid as it was absolutely spotless throughout. She left us a wonderful welcome pack full of lovely yummy treats - probably the best gift basked we've ever had at a Sykes property! Milk in the fridge, tea, coffee, biscuits, chocolate, crips, and popcorn! And the house was full of fresh flowers picked from her garden - lillies, sweetpeas and more! The house is on a terraced street with two pubs but you really wouldn't know it - it's so quiet. Right next to the beach and a superb location for all manner of activities - we had a beach ride, visited Sutton Hoo (book a tour to the mounds - absolutely worth it!), hired a day boat on the Broads, spent a day at Holkham Hall, visited the most easterly point in Britain and had far too many fish and chips! (Note - the chippy at the top of the road is very good but the one at the start of Southwold Pier is even better!!). The interior of the house is picture-perfect. There is one single bedroom off the back of the bathrooom which is worth noting but it really didn't cause any issues for the family. And the flight of stairs up to the top bedroom is very steep and narrow but it's all part of the fun. Lovely sitting room and a selection of books and DVDs though with so much to do in the area you don't really want to spend it watching the TV! There's a Coop and a Premier within easy walk for all your essentials. Parking was absolutely fine - one day we had to park round the corner but otherwise there was plenty available. Loved the cottage, the location and Alison! Thank you for a wonderful holiday!

We found the cottage was in an excellent position for access to a super, family orientated beach holiday. Nearby were 2 convenience stores, a very popular fish and chip shop, several restaurants/pubs serving good food and a tea rooms/cafe. The cottage was immaculate and beautifully decorated and appointed as shown by the photographs on the website. The owner left us a wonderful welcome gift pack catering for all ages in our family group, as well as a vase of fresh flowers! How kind and generous.
