Also the parking space at the front could do with a good prune.Apart from that the house was very well appointed.

Thank you Mr. Harwood, yes we do state that the property has steep stairs, I hope they were not too much of an issue for you. I'm afraid you visited at that point in the year when the garden is not at it's best. There has been some pruning over the past few weeks so much neater! • "21 Florence Road is a lovely cottage, it has plenty of space and is well equipped."

It was great to have the advantage of a conservatory and a patio garden. The bed was very comfy and the monsoon shower was fantastic. It is less than a hundred yards from the seafront an was very convenient for walking my dog every morning. The only downside for me was having to bounce up the curb as my car has very low profile tyres and I felt this was a risk of damaging the wheels, so I think it would be helpful to have the curb lowered.Apart from that I would be happy to stay again.

Thank you Mr. Turner it was lovely to have you stay with us. I have applied for the kerb to be lowered but because of a fire hydrant it is not possible. There is a piece of timber by the end fence that can be used to help buffer the kerb but can't be left permanently on the road. If you come again I'll pop over and show you. Glad you enjoyed your stay! Property Owner

Kitchen had good facilities could easily cook a meal. The breakfast room & courtyard were very nice. The bed was comfortable & room quiet & dark. We had a comfortable week. Good location for exploring the area, near a bus stop. Good chip shop around the corner. Easy walking distance to beach. Lovely seafront walk to Lowestoft.

Bus stops just up the road don’t really need a car , the is within a 5 min walk found an art gallery which was amazing . The Jolly sailor is great for dining out with sea views . So all in all a great place to stay to explore the area. One thing cut our stay short 3rd day in we found dog fleas up in the bedroom with an odour of dog until then we had all windows open day and night so never noticed the odour . We decided to leave the next morning I contacted the owner who said they would sort this out but I knew this could not be sorted in within an hour or so .They did apologise but as we had already left couldn’t do anything for us . Sykes said the same thing . We have been renting properties with Sykes for many years now this was the first time this has happened to us . Sykes never got back to us regarding this matter :(

A Smart TV in lounge would be a good addition, I had to watch a few things upstairs which does have one. The drive does not have a drop kerb which means you have to use higher speed to bump up and this then churns up stones. Had a couple of worrying moments when wheels spun, but ultimately managed. Lesley says she is having matting laid shortly which should resolve this issue. Best thing is the location of this cottage being directly behind the church, so literally 2 mins and you're on the beach. Enjoyed my relaxing break with my two legged friend.

Hi Diana the drive has matting now so no more spinning wheels. So glad you you had a nice time. Lesley Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely week with our dog in this cottage at the end of April."

It's attractive, comfortable and well-equipped, and the sand and shingle beach is just a few minutes' walk away, so it is wonderfully situated for long walks with the dog, either along the coast or into Lowesoft. The area is quiet but there are shops and takeaways conveniently nearby, and also an interesting art gallery. The thatched church is also worth a look round, if you're into old buildings and local history. (There are also several pubs around, but we never went to any of them so I can't comment!) The owner, who lives nearby, was very helpful but not intrusive. The house was warm, and the woodburning stove was an added bonus for the still chilly nights. The bed was comfortable, although proper reading lamps for both sides of the bed would have been appreciated. I would concur with other reviewers that the stairs are a bit steep, but perfectly manageable unless you have a mobility problem. Those with mobility issues should be also be mindful that the bath is quite high-sided to step into when having a shower, and that there is no in-bath mat to prevent slipping. All in all, it was a lovely place to stay and I would recommend it.

Thank you for your feedback I've put a slip mat in the bath and reading lamps in the bedroom. Thanks again for your suggestions. Lesley Property Owner

Just a few minutes' walk from the Suffolk coast in the peaceful village of Pakefield is 21 Florence Road, a cosy end-terrace cottage, ideal for singles or couples wanting to enjoy some quality time together by the sea.

Parking is available at the front for one car, and as you enter the front garden through the white picket fence, you will discover a bistro style table and chairs that you can sit out on with a morning coffee.

Head inside the property into the porch, where you can leave coats and shoes, before heading into the inviting sitting room, where the woodburning stove placed within the exposed brick fireplace is very much the centrepiece of the room; settle down on the couch or armchair and enjoy the warmth from the fire as you choose a film to watch on the wall-mounted TV.

The well-equipped kitchen is kitted out with all of the appliances you could wish for during your self-catering holiday, with a soft green décor that brightens the space and even a dishwasher to take care of any washing up.

Enjoy a romantic dinner for two in the sunroom, which offers dining seating and a French door that opens onto the enclosed patio, where you can relax with a glass of wine on a warm summer's evening.

Venture upstairs to the first floor to find a generously sized double bedroom with ample storage for your belongings and a TV, along with the bathroom suite that boasts a roll top bath with shower over, Explore your surroundings and wander into Pakefield village, which offers a range of shops, historic pubs, restaurants and takeaways within a few minutes' walk of the property, while the beach and picturesque Suffolk coast are less than half a mile from the front door.

Spend the day exploring the pebble and sand beach, enjoy a walk along the Victorian promenade, paddle in the blue waters and grab some lunch at a nearby café.

Visit the pretty cliff-top church, take in a show at the Seagull Theatre, browse the creative art work in the art gallery and pay a visit to East Anglia Transport Museum, where you can admire vintage buses and trams.

Venture towards the popular seaside resort of Lowestoft, England's most easterly town, and enjoy an afternoon at its award-winning beach, cooling off at the Princess Royal Fountains, which has 74 jets you can run through, browse a wide selection of shops and visit a host of family-friendly attractions, including the Pleasurewood Hills Family Theme Park and the maritime museum, while evenings can be spent at the cinema, bowling alley or snooker hall, followed by a bite to eat and refreshing beverage at one of many pubs and restaurants in the area.

Head to Oulten Broads and hire a boat to explore the coastline, looking out for fascinating wildlife along the way, while Minsmere Nature Reserve is also within easy reach and an ideal stop off for wildlife lovers.

Venture south to the village of Kessingland for a memorable experience at Africa Alive!, an African-themed walking animal safari with rhinos, lions and ostriches.

Head north to the bustling Great Yarmouth, with its 15-mile stretch of pristine sandy beach, along with attractions that include the pleasure beach, SEA LIFE Centre and Time and Tide Museum, while the cathedral city of Norwich is approximately a 45-minute drive away, offering a bustling city atmosphere, should you wish to spend a day inland.
